Man, this deal's a firestarter!
I went to the Brisbane gig and was a little disappointed. I reckon I would have been really pissed off if I paid full price for the ticket. They played way too many new songs compared to old ones and the gig went from 8:30pm to about 9:45 maybe?? Maybe it's just me but I would have thought for a band that has been around for so long they should be able to find enough material to go two hours.
How was the atmosphere?
Pretty good I guess. People were pretty in to it. You could tell what most were there for though. Whenever there was a classic song, out came all of the phones. Not quite sure what you can see through your phone and I don't think many people will watch the vomit inducing video with the distorted audio the next day.
I'm a little old school and newer Prodigy isn't exactly my thing. The other guys I went with thought the same thing as me though. Too much new stuff and too short. You can check out the setlists so far for this tour at:

Maybe we were a little over critical but the levels weren't right also. Vocals a bit low in the mix. I kinda expect sound/levels to be pretty spot on these days, especially when it's a band/group that has been around as long as The Prodigy. Volume wasn't what I was expecting either. I bought "special" earplugs just for the gig but didn't end up using them.
I'm not saying don't go, but maybe temper your expectations. At $55 it's a pretty good deal though I guess. I had fun with the guys. Wish all gigs were around this price.
@ozb25 10pm curfew, but they could have started earlier.
The new venue in the Valley can't come soon enough. Brisbane really needs a venue for those gigs that fall in between those intimate settings and massive stadium tours. That it is central makes it even better. The Prodigy shouldn't have to deal with a curfew at all.
If it was 1997 I might have been interested.
Wonder if they'll play "Smack my b up" in this age of PC..

Going to be pedantic and point out they are ‘The Prodigy’
Brings back memory of jumping on stage with them in Tel Aviv back in early 90’s. Short-lived but worth it.
