Don Mueang … that's an experience and a half in itself.

    • Can you elaborate? Don't think it would deter me, but I'm curious to hear :)

Malaysian Airlines has this $658 return; much better flight experience, food, baggage included

AirAsia minimum is $240+$205=$445 (this is probably a Tue departure and a Wednesday return), you need to pay $50 for baggage, more ($30?) for food, $20 for blanket, and sit with your back upright for the whole flight.

    Not worth the hassle

    • Who pays $20 for a blanket??? wrong crowd..

      • Last time (4 years ago) I flew with then; there was option for hire at about $10 I think or purchase blanket+eye blind+ socks for $28, or chill mid-air of course

Yeah, nope. This is direct. Meals are very tasty and cheap. Service is laid back. I haven't travelled with baggage since the naughties - not sure who does these days.

That’s awesome. From Bangkok you can buy cheap $250 one way fares to Europe on Norwegian Air.

If you want a more customised itinerary then it’s a good way to buy one way fares and works out cheaper in high season.

we are looking at Bris - Singapore - Bangkok - Oslo -Rovaniemi/Levi - Helsinski - London - Bangkok - Koh Samui - Bangkok - Brisbane. In Europe will buy internal flights to London, Levi/ Rovaniemi. It’s always cheaper to buy internal flights in Europe than try to book from Oz especially for destinations like Morocco or Fuerte Ventura.

Approx $950 rtn + internal flights $250 Around Mid Dec.

Oslo to Rovaniemi or Levi is only $94 one way. Cheaper than Finnair and Easyjet in Dec. My husband is a teacher so can only travel during school holidays and for family of 5 it’s significant savings.

Another option from Bangkok is Eurowings, who can connect you on to a network all throughout Europe.

Got Bangkok - Prague (via Cologne) for $350 last year
