Saw this at my local Bunnings, great price considering Soft Close and Duroplast material. Not sure if this is regular price or promotional.

  • +11

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your assistance; I'd be bummed out if I missed this.

    • +7

Yeah, you definitely don't want to miss this

    • +4

Better get to the bottom of this deal

      • +4

Bunnings is too far away for me so I can't be arsed

      • Username checks out

      • What a perfect avatar image.

    • I disagree, it's a sh1thouse deal.

    • +2

You mean from the heart of your bottom

  • Already bought another one, bummer!

  • -1

Is it crappy quality or good enough for a royal throne?

  • +1

Better keep a lid on this open and shut case.

  • +1

Might get one for my bidet if I'm lucky.

    • +2

Maybe your cistern will buy one for you?

  • Bought this a few months ago. Got the shits because it doesn’t fit too well, can’t take it back.

  • +11

Came for the puns and they're even worse than I expected - it's a miracle I haven't throne up.

    • +2

      I haven't throne up.

If the throne is up, you're doing it wrong.

Seat itself is pretty good. Problem is the binding posts and screws aren't very good, and over time (and tightening) they wear out. Should get off my bum and get another one under warranty. Or buy a better seat with the credit.

    • +1

Agree, I bought two, they always come loose and you need to dig up your Allen keys to tighten them. Spend the $5 or $10 more to get the better one, doesn't come loose at all.

      • Some fibre would tighten things straight up

  • +6

The seat works well but the hardware is poor quality. I've had to take my first seat back because the thread on the included bolt was defective. It probably took me an hour to install because of the poor quality hardware making it difficult. It also moves around a bit when you lean to one side. I'd imagine it getting looser over time.

I'd stay clear and pay a bit more for something better. This is the regular price I believe.

    • +7

TLDR you're up to number two and you think it'll end with a loose stool.

  • Doesn't fit a standard Caroma pan, as I found out last week.

    • Fitted perfectly on Caroma, maybe different size pan.

  • Good as a spare in case of emergency

    • +1

That's sitting directly on the ceramic.

  • +1

+1 i use toilet seat everyday

  • -5

    Shit

    • +1

      Worst. Pun. Ever. ;p

    • +1

Downvoted for lack of punctuation probably.

  • +1

    +1 for a soft close.
People bang toilet seat frequently and it scares the shit out of me.

    • I see what you did there.
      [I'd rather I didn't].

      • ringside seat

    • What scares me most are dad sneezes

  • Just in time, my ALDI soft closing toilet seats have soft closing :(

  • I’d like to have one for wherever I go.

  • Soft close, but what's the opening like?

    • +2

Depends on what you ate the night before

  • +4

Please rename title to: Replica A-League Championship Trophy $15 @ Bunnings. kthxbi.

    • I thought it was an Atari Jaguar CD.

    • -1

      kthxbi.

are you bi? glad you made it out of the closet!

  • I've seen the same price at least a month ago. I thought it's their regular price.

    • Only if eating enough fibre

  • Dunno about this seat in particular but if you don't have soft close and have a missus obsessed with a down-toilet seat it comes in handy; just a quick push on the seat after finishing to send it on its way down and can carry on washing hands (or for some people not :P)

Our ones were cheapish Masters ones. Don't know what type of plastic they are but they're still soft closing ok.

    A notional DOWN VOTE?

Two lightly used 20yo CAROMA Slimline WCs.
One fitted with an ALDI soft close toilet seat some years ago - a softer plastic, with an indented cover.

Missing out more recently, I tried the BUNNINGS Estilo for the other - INS 140 V2.

    A bugger to install.
Initially a glossy, hard shell seat cover - QUALITY LOOK!

Over time however, with pushing cover back onto cistern cap when seated (Caroma Slimline cistern also formed from shiny hard shell plastic) the surface was scratched through against the edge of the cistern cap :-(
    Caroma cistern cap also abraded.
A weakness of these hard shiny plastic surfaces?

The answer may well be to hop onto a future ALDI WC replacement.
With a porcelain cistern, & inclusive of a soft closing seat!!

EDIT: Now reading of the differences in plastics, perhaps my disappointing BUNNINGS Estilo was made of the poorer material?
    INS 140 V2

  • This is the brand for the first home buyer sale, very cheap, If you are a builder, planning quick sale, this is the brand you buy. Anybody else?? just run.

  • This deal will get bums on seats.

  • I had 2 whole toilets replaced via the ALDI deal for $200. Amazing

  • +1

These are good but there are several sizes so measure before buying.

  • +2

    Valentines Day present sorted.

  • This pisses me off so much, we had a toilet seat break (in laundry got corroded as hell) and asked landlord to replace it and the guy replaced it with this flimsy plastic POS.

  • Serious question…. for a change

But we just have standard plastic toilet set, nothing fancy
    Will this fit?
Just dont want to start uninstalling to find it doenst fit

    • Yes it should fit most toilets.

  • Got two from Rocklea today , tried oxley But they had no idea where the stock was located even tho they checked having 18 in stock, useless !

Anyway installed these on my two toliets I'm happy !

  • +1

got one, not very happy with it,
was going to get a few but lucky I bought one as a test

firstly, one of the sideway poles (or whatever you call it) doesnt go in the full way

plus the Ushaped part of hte seat doesnt stay up,

and the lid pretty much slams closed

oh well, $15 for a new seat I can live with

    unless its defective

  • guyd, there is a $19.90 estilo soft close toilet seat as well, seems a lot steadier,

    and actually works,

I exchanged mine for the $20 and all is good
