wow thats actually pretty good for entry level/new to PC
I would highly suggest getting another SSD/HDD for storage though, 120gb is not enough at all

    • For a internet and/or document creation rig, it is fine.

  • +6

is there a deal for just the tower?

    • +3

yep i'd prefer just a "$x cheaper no KBM/Monitor" of the same deal

      • Same here, i dont neet to screen

  • +2

I believe with that CPU you should be paying the extra $29 to upgrade to a B350 mobo

Great price, but waiting for a deal on a Ryzen 5 with RX 580

    • what would be your expectations for that deal pricewise?

      • +3

From past deals it would have to be <$700, hoping for something closer to $600 though. Still holding a bunch of gift cards from last year.

    • Oh yeah that reminds me. I've contacted them about their b350 mobos, but its one of those cheaper ones with 2 ram slots. Its fine for the price, but defs not a huge upgrade.
      https://techfast.com.au/?product=biostar-amd-a320mh-pro
This is the one they use

      • That's a link to the A320? I can't actually find any B350 specs on their website, odd…

        • Oops my bad. Yeah didn't realise they don't have it listed anymore.

    • sorry for the newb question, but what's the difference for the upgrade? thanks!

      • +3

Ability to overclock is a major factor.

        • +1

And overclock really easily too. My Ryzen 5 1600 is running at 3.9ghz with no fiddling with voltages or anything. AM4 is a seriously good platform and product.

  • i wonder if this would stack up against an xbox one x

    • -2

This one would allow you to partake in the PCMasterRace - instead of being a console pleb :D

    • +12

For a serious answer to your question, in terms of raw power, it doesn't stack up against an X1X.

Tbf, the X1X is actually quite an anomaly in the sense that you can't really build a pc for that price that is capable of playing AAA games at 4K (this is coming from a big Sony fan, but even I have to give credit where it's due).

The main benefit of a pc over an xbox is mainly the versatility of it (ie. using same pc for work/school/uni) and also the ability to play most games that are available on the xbox anyway. Not to mention no need to pay for online multiplayer.

IMO the best combination is a PC for the majority of games (esp. multiplayer) and a PS4 to be able to play the myriad of top-tier Sony exclusives (eg. Last of Us, GOW, Uncharted, HZD, etc.)

        Great post from Shekster

  • +3

Big thanks to techfast for not jacking up the price, gj luke.

      • Good job.

      • -5

        grope job

      • -7

        blow job

  • -5

Note, it doesn't come with an OS or HDD/SSD Storage. Add about an extra $200-300 for these 2 parts and it's good to go.

    • -3

Primary Drive: 120GB Solid State Drive

      Still not enough though

      • +7

I still manage with a 120gb as my OS boot drive and an old 3tb hard drive for storage (including steam games library). Simple but works fine

        • -2

Loading games from spinnng disk is slow as …

      • -4

I know…re-read my comment about adding extra parts. Not sure what the neg is for…

        • Welcome to ozbargain

        • OS
          or HDD/SSD Storage

          add extra $200-300

          re-read my comment

Not sure what the neg is for

          • 120GB SSD included regardless if it is sufficient or not.
          • Who pays for OS when you can just reset the trial period (if you know what I mean) otherwise install open source OS. I actually prefer laptop or desktop without OS as people can find Much cheaper alternative.

    • +9

To do this the ozbargain way you'd 1TB HDD ~$65, Windows 10 Professional CD Key ~$30 from an OEM key reseller.. not quite $200-$300!

      • +4

Gotcha. my bad - I went with the crazy deals of 1 TB SSD in mind

    • -2

      Not $200-300.

    • Pricey watermark… But yeah tech yes city linked OEM windows licences for $12 USD?

    • Grey market key from eBay.com $5

  • Is there a deal for a mb+cpu+ram combo? Looking for a decent system for basic usage to replace an existing Lynnfield i5 system (that is still fine but generating more heat than I like).

  • would this be powerful enough to edit 4k video? My macbook struggles

    • +2

What kind of Macbook do you have? I can't imagine this would do very well with 4k editing, the CPU will be okish, but you'd definitely want more ram. 16gb minimum.

      • +1

agreed, would need a lot more for smooth 4k editing

      • MacBook Pro 2.3 with 8GB ram. I will wait for the next time these deals pop up and make sure i get extra ram

        • Yeah this will be a slight upgrade, but not by a lot.

  • +1

I need an RX 570 and another PC. If this had a 2200G in it I think I'd be tempted.

    • Sorry, but wouldn't a Ryzen 3 2300X be better than a 2200G? I'm still a bit new to the ryzen processors naming system

      • I think the idea is the 2200G is better for general computing, the 2300X is better for gaming. Although the becnhmarks I've seen have the 2300X better at everything.

      • +4

Sort of, it lacks an iGPU. atj said that he needs an RX 570 by itself and another PC by itself. If it had a 2200G he could take out the RX 570 and still be left with a functioning PC. But with the 2300X if you take out the RX 570, you'll have to plug another graphics card in to get image output.

    Storage: Not Included
Warranty: 12 Month Return To Base Warranty and lifetime phone support (so I can call you in 100 years time and you'll still answer) no such thing as life time support.

You're essentially paying for a graphics card, CPU and monitor and as others have stated in previous thread, these components in some cases don't seem to be brand new, feel free to have a read of the feedback on their ebay profile.

    • +2

Not sure why you are marking random things as "junk"

The Allied PSU does not look very good, thats the only issue I see.
The SSD, as long as its not a generic chinese import, is fine.

    • +1

there's nothing wrong with this system for the price. you get what you pay for, this is a budget system not a $2000 rig.

    • Apart from MB & RAM & PSU , I think it is pretty good deal for entry level. With previous deals, all the components were just some random brand. I would consider this for entry level PC and would only change the PSU.

For high end system, sure I would stay away from random components.

  • This is an awesome deal op, better than any console by far!

    • -2

My $360 Xbox one X begs to differ :P

      • +1

        triggered

      • This is a bargain price, it's a great PC for getting into some entry level gaming.
PC's aren't a locked down ecosystem, they're democratic, there's choice and competition, if I don't like one model/brand there's a ton of more choices out there.
PC's don't just do so much more than consoles they do it better and there's a price to fit every budget!

        • -5

At a price though… Consoles. Buy once, play for 5-10 years. PC, buy once, constantly need to upgrade. Like this PC, after a year, it would be obsolete to even play new games at "Low" settings

        • +1

This does not run games better than an Xbox One X, don't be ridiculous.

          • +1

@Diji1: Never said it does, I said "it's a great PC for getting into some entry level gaming.".
            Cheers :).

  • +1

    Hi rep.
Can you do a high end Ryzen box (CPU, Ram, mobo) with no GPU?
    Thank you.

  • +4

I understand the monitor is probably where they make their small profit, but can't you just skim like $20 off for leaving it out?

Still make your margin but I don't need to contribute any more to landfill and shipping waste than I already do…

  • How's this for a bit of 4k video editing? I'm not looking for something that can have 20 different programs open and still render 10 minutes of 4k video in 2 seconds, just thinking whether to get a desktop or go for something like a 7700HQ laptop with 1050. How much faster would this be?

    • +2

As far as CPU for it'll be decent enough. What you'd need to do is upgrade the RAM amount. 8gb isn't nearly enough. Find a deal like the one recently from Newegg 16gb for $140 ish I think. Ideally you'll want to get at least 32gb though for 4k editing, but 16 can get you somewhere.

Also find a bigger ssd.120gb isn't going to cut it, especially when you render out your 4k, prior to compression, your looking at hundreds of gb's per hour of uncompressed 4k footage.

      • Thank you for the tips! ill see what i can find for upgrades

        • +1

Futu eBay page have a TB Samsung drive for under $200 ATM, check that out :)

  • +1

It’s a good deal. Just be prepared to swap out the PSU with one from any reputable brand.

  • -3

Wow! A random assortment of brands listed for all the components used in this build. No idea what you'll be getting. Chances are the motherboard is probably a cheap microATX with only 2 memory slots. Hence the single 8gb ram.

    • +1

      So what?

You can add another 8GB stick for 16GB.

  • -4

Hi folks, we've had to change it to remove the bundled monitor and keyboard/mouse. We will honor the existing purchases. OP/Mods, if you feel like it, could you reopen the deal when the change gets picked up?

    • Also remove the GPU please?

    • Same price without the keyboard/mouse?

    • Removing those and keeping the same price?

      • -2

Yep, that's how it has to be with the discount structure.

    • The original deal posted was for the bundle, and that's what users have voted for, and that deal is correctly expired since it is no longer available.

      • No problem at all.

    • could you reopen the deal

The deal was for bundle (monitor an important factor). Post another deal and see how many votes does it get. The upvotes were mainly for complete PC package.

      • +1

Yeah felt like expiring it was the way to go as without a monitor the deal isn't anything too special compared to what we've seen in the past.

  • :s

  • +15

their delivery took 2 months. no excuses

    • +1

Phowar! Good to know I'll stick to buying parts

      • +2

I guess you ordered an Intel CPU PC Bundle. There has been a world-wide shortage recently.
I don't think you'll get any problem with AMD

        • +5

It took 6 weeks for my Ryzen 5 2600 RX580 to arrive. When I made the purchase the item was "in stock".
          No excuses.

          • +1

@brick22: I'm waiting on the Ryzen 5 bundle, not feeling hopeful now.

Should not release new deals until caught up on the backlog imo.

          • @brick22: Mine took a little under 3 weeks, ordered mid Jan. and received first few days of Feb. I purchased 2 r5 580 systems + a monitor, I would argue that not all their orders take that long. Really just have to be proactive in contacting support. Luke's pretty responsive on these forums.
