I have tried probably four or five of the flavours and they make a delicious curry. Fish, chicken, beef, lamb, they've all done really well with these packets when you're in the mood for a quick dinner plus loads of flavour. I'll definitely grab some more for the pantry.

I agree. Great quality and worth stocking up

worth stocking up while they're on offer. you won't get closer to takeaway than these. great results every time.

stinks the house out for days after though lol

      far nicer than takeaway!

I think these are one of the best brands for this product segment, with a very wide range. Never disappointed.

yeah I agree it seems to have less fillers and has more flavour than other brands offering similar.

i really rate the daal packs. will stock up

    • i've had the classic daal is there any others you'd recommend highly?

    • Would also like to know which daal to try :)

Thanks OP, I really like these mixes, great flavour

  • Really nice but never makes enough… Maybe I'm just a greedy bastard :0)

    • they are just that good

  • I always stock up on these when on offer - yum!

  • These will fire up the old bowel

The best curry in a hurry supermarket solution by many lengths. Seriously good tasting range.

  • Awesome, I have a 50% off with flybuys too!

I am of Indian background and trust me this is best sauce out there, even compared to the ones in Indian grocery stores. The Southern Pepper curry and Korma curry are my favourites.
They also have a Tangy Lime Chutney and it is a blast.

Is there any other packet? This is the only one to buy!

  • I find you need 2 packets to feed a family of 4, still hella tasty tho.

  • just curious
when you guys say stock up
how many packs do you buy?

    • We use a pack a week on average, so usually buy 4 or so (depends how many we have in the pantry already).

    • +1

      15

    • 30-40… check the expiry! I have a curry or two a week!

      • 30 would cost $82.5!
        this stuff must be good!

        • Uhh… or you can buy 5 takeaway curries. I'd rather have 30 curries at 90% restaurant quality than 5 :)

Believe me, this sauce is the bomb!

I've tried a few over the weekend
    1. keralan coconut sauce- nice
    2. butter chicken- nice

would not describe either of them as the bomb however

although they do have a dry chilli in the ingredients, it is probably adapted to our tastes, as I do like a bit of a spice hit, but found these mild

    I've also tried
    bengali coconut dal- just ok
tarka dal- found this to taste a bit soapy
won't be going back to these two dals in a hurry

    just my 2c

    • Weird… must be how I cook them then :) Honestly, done right these packets blow some of my locals out of the water

      • followed the instructions to the letter
did not try any extras like browning a sliced onion

in fact I've found Pataks Butter chicken spicy (with three chillies, not the mild or medium rubbish) better
it is the only Pataks I have liked
the rest of the Pataks range is roobish

mind you that is just my 2c
my kids loved the Spice tailor butter chicken and there were no leftovers
with the dals however there were no takers

        • I tend to use olive oil, heat, dump in spices, dump in meat, sear, dump in smaller sauce packet, stir for two, add larger packet then simmer on a very low heat. Works for me :)
