Seagate BarraCuda SSD SATA3 2.5" 500GB (STGS500401) $89 + Delivery (or Free Pick Up) @ Umart

90

Fairly decent price for a decent performing SSD (part of Umart's St Patrick's Day sale?). While the controller of the SSD is very old now, but overall performance still holds up for what it is, especially still much better than DRAMless drives. Samsung 860 EVO will perform better, but this Seagate SSD at this price point is more about value than absolute performance.

        • Neatoboy wanted to know if this is the cheapest 500gb SSD ever posted from a local seller

  • Will this be better than a samsung 840?

    • Probably similar speed, not sure if the management software is as good as samsungs?

    • Yes, as the 840 is quite old now.

  • I wouldn't be too concerned about SSD drive speeds(you can't really notice the difference) because they are limited by the SATA3 interface and I would just buy the cheapest. Nvme SSD drives are a totally different story.
