Why is dealbot up at 4am lmao

  • I hate that I now wear glasses and can’t use headphones. :;(

    • +1

I wear sunglasses with my QC35s all the time

    • No problem with the QC3511.

      • +1

        What's the QC3511?

        • +11

          Time traveller confirmed!

        • QC35ii

    • +1

I wear glasses and use this model headphone with no issues

      • For extended periods? Headphones normally crush my ears when I wear them at work.

        • Most headphones give me a headache well within an hour of wearing them due to the pressure. The QC35s on the other hand were an absolute dream to wear. So light and comfortable. I used to wear sunglasses with them for hours with no issues at all.

    • I've worn glasses since I was in primary school and use headphones daily. No issues. Just make sure you get open headphones rather than closed headphones.

      • Perhaps not in the workplace though :)

        • Why not? It is perfect for noisy workplaces

        • I work out of the server room so I wear noise cancelling headphones to cancel out the drone of all the fans coming from the server racks, they're great and listening to music helps me concentrate a lot. I guess if you are working registers or floor sales probably don't wear headphones though haha

  • Are the arms too long behind the ear?

  • Great headphones. If you try often these are brilliant

    • +4

Does that make you a try hard?

      • +3

No it makes you a try often

      • Well said. Clearly I meant fry. Great for Pauline as a former fish and chip shop owner.

        • Are they still suitable if you are not a fry cook and just casually fry some chips at home every now and then?

        • I’m assuming auto-correct is giving you a hard time.
“Great for frying as a former fish and chip shop owner.”
I have similar issues with auto-correct, trying to find it useful but it keeps making serious errors (misspelling words).

  • Just got one for an upcoming trip, thanks OP 😃
Been looking at JB as they have them for $188.

  • +1

Are these QC25 a good value considering QC35ii is almost double the price even at best deal? Reviews on rtings.com for QC35ii are glorious, while QC25 also doesn't look bad.

Just trying to get the best value for money.

    • +1

It all comes down to how much you value wireless vs wired. If it’s not a big deal then definitely get these. Great NC!

      • Oh. I didn't realise that QC25 is not wireless. Thanks. Then it is ruled out. I need wireless one for sure.

    • once you go wireless hard to go back.

    • I think the NC is the same while the 35s have a built in non-replacable battery. You can also buy cheap add ons to make the 25s blue tooth capable. All comes down to how much money you have to spend.

What are these like for voice cancelling?
Am in a loud office, looking for something to block out the voices (external voices. Can’t blockout the ones in my head!!)

    • +2

Excellent. I am in same boat and often have people tapping my shoulder because I couldn’t hear them talking to me (behind me).

Edit: I should add that this is while listening to music through them as well.

    • +1

Voices are NOT really blocked by the active noise cancelation. The headphones are tuned to block continuous (mostly lower frequency) sound like aeroplane noise.

Voice distractions WILL be reduced significantly by passive attenuation (These are closed phones with close fitting pads, and will block out a lot of the noise)

If you want to block out all noise except what you are listening to, you should consider some IEMs. But bear in mind that comfort is another important factor.

    • +2

Technically it will block out the background noise and accentuate the voices, ie on a plane the engines will disappear and conversations from others become pretty clear! I had a whiny kid behind me on a flight..turned the noise cancelation off and opted for the engine noise.

What you want is noise 'isolating' headphones (old fashioned insulation), with music etc, or a real cheap pair of noise cancellation head phones that produce heaps of white noise static in lieu of blocking other noises.

Maybe don't act on those internal voices..

  • +6

Should say that these are the apple model

    • The only difference is the remote button on the cable. You can get a universal one off eBay

  • Really tempting…
    (Great for long plane journeys!)

  • Looks like the cheapest ever for this headphone.

Same price as the pair I bought from Myer ebay sale about 2 weeks ago. I'm ok with wires and the sound is good, the noise cancelling is the most effective I've experienced and the heaphones are pretty cpmfortable

  • Yikes! Bought these a year ago for $300!

  • Can you reduce the NC to low on these? I tried on the wireless ones and think they were set to high made me feel abit nauseous!!

    • +1

      Nada.

    • +1

Sorta yes, not really. You can block the external mics with a tiny piece of sticky tape, and it will reduce NC efficiency without defeating NC entirely. It will still block low freqs very well but the tape will reduce some mid-range frequency cancellation.

N.B. You can even block the bass port at the bottom too to almost entirely cancel the low frequency NC, but I find this to be defeating NC by too much - wouldn’t recommend.

Code cannot be applied to order?

  • I got a pair of these a month ago for about $20 more. Really good. I was considering the bluetooth option but it seemed worth it not only because cheaper but also some advantages that the QC35 with bluetooth don' have. That said, so many phones are losing the headphone jack that it does make the QC35 seem more appealing.

  • A bit off the mark, was waiting for it to come down to $150. Still better than when I bought it at $230, love to have another pair. Well gotta missed one Maccas meal deal lol.

    Thanks OP.

    • +1

Maccas have 3 for $3 deal currently so you gotta miss out on 3 meals :P

      • D'OH?

  • I got these via this site for $350 when they were just released. Highly recommended for this price. You can get a cheap ebay cable to convert to android remote if needed.

    • Thanks mate. What is Android remote, sorry?

      • +1

Remote control in-line on the headphone cable to go from next/previous music track or play/pause toggle. Can also use it to answer calls.

  • Not sure what I’m doing wrong. The price is $199 and with 10% off it comes down to $179.10. Anybody else having issues? Or has Myer jacked the price?

    • Yeah looks like the deal is over, i've been in this thread since it was first posted and just now decided to make the late night impulse purchase but it's gone :(

      • D'OH!

      • Same here! Should have pulled trigger last night

  • Just grabbed one of these, thanks to OzBargain. Can't comment on the rest of the process but I got a confirmation email from Myer immediately after, saying it's received. I never buy anything from Myer lol. I guess they're trying to generate internet income.

$500 is a common price for the qc35s and I simply won't pay that. I've owned several pairs of cheaper ones over the years include two Aldi ones which are surprisingly good for jet travel… They're clearly set up for engine noise. They're cheap enough to give away and I have done. Thanks again. Cheers John

    • But you missed the deal? Also the QC35 is commonly on sale around $350 not $500. QC35 has slightly worse audio quality than the QC25 but they are wireless so that is a plus for a lot of people.

  • Got mine today. Woohoo.

  • +1

This deal is back on, and it's almost $10 cheaper.

    • +1

      DDDOOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!!

    • Thanks mate! Thought I had missed the last one!

  • Looking for some advice re headphones - I've never bought any worth more than $20 before, so I don't know anything about them!

I know that these Bose QC are popular. Here's what I need: we recently modified our open plan house so that there are 2 living areas, with 2 TV's, so that one can be sort of a teenagers' retreat, and people can watch different things. For the times when both TV's are in use (they won't always be), the plans is the one or two teenagers are going to have to use headphones.

So I want to buy a decent pair. I don't mind getting two different models to see which works best, and in case one type is more comfortable than the other. I want wired ones. I don't know anything about noise cancelling but it's supposed to be pretty nice to have.

Since my absolute max budget is $200 (less is better), I'm looking at these QC25 ones. Some people say they are really comfortable, is that right? If the kids also have iPhones and may want to use the headphones with them, do I have to get the Apple version of these, and will they then work both for the TV's standard 3.5" output and their iPhone?

Is there another popular headphone I should look at instead? Maybe a Sennhauser set that is closer to $100? Noise cancelling is not essential, neither is absolute top quality sound. As long as the sound is "good", and the headphones are comfortable and not too heavy, that's the main thing. And I suppose it is also important that they block general noise from the room and the sound of the other TV.

    Thanks for the advice.

    • I would recommend these if multiple people listening to different things inside the house.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/447213
We use 2 with their own separate base stations (the same as buying 2 in the deal I linked)
One base hooked up to PC, one base hooked up to the TV.
This way you can have two people, one listening to PC and one to TV.
Or you can sync both headphones to 1 base so two people can watch the TV etc.

I know this is not exactly what you asked for, but this will eliminate the ‘noise pollution’ you / or other people will experience.
Also worth noting these RF Headphones do not have ‘lag’ issues with the audio, that most Bluetooth options have.
