Good price but given recent posts on here I think the new bargain price will have to be $299 or lower.

    • Yeah I am Keen for a set but I'm holding off too and hoping we can get back down toward $300…

    • Right. I'm in the same boat.

    • I got mine for $300. HN were selling them for $400, minus the $100 I received from an HN Amex deal. Score.

  • winter is here. a man must acquire new headphones

    • Still trying to figure out if that was an indirect Game of Thrones reference lol

    • +3

      okay

    • +9

ok buddy, but may I suggest you switch to a higher quality like Bose headphones, you should get a way better sound, like "Pretty Good" instead of distorted taotronics "breddy guuuuuuuuD BreddddddddY GuuuuuuuD"

    • What?

    • thanks for the laugh

    • Obviously the headphones affect your speech/writing.

    • +1

My troll radar is going off the charts!

  • I got mine for $360 a month ago from Jbhifi, spur of the moment buy haha. Great headphones.

can you claim trs with amazon?

    • +1

      yes you can

    • +2

Yes, I bought mine during the last amazon deal to claim trs. You can include other purchases/invoices with the same seller (Amazon AU) as well - I've bought SD cards for my camera, external HD etc - all of which I'm planning on claiming.

      • Easy to claim? I take it you need to have invoice and product there at airport to claim. Anything else? Flying from Brisbane at Easter

        • +1

Just be prepared, have your receipts and the products ready to go. If you get to the counter bumbling around trying to find things they won't be impressed.
You can also preload the information online but I've never found the need to.

If the items are too big to take carry on and you need to check them in you can have them checked prior to check in. The details are on the website.

If the line is too long I tend to take a walk around duty free and come back a little later, it comes in waves.

  • What's the sound quality like on these ? I've tried a work colleagues qc 25 and they sounded pretty ordinary to me.

    • +2

In my opinion, they are good, but not as good as the Sony.

    • +1

      Similar to the QC25.

In a similar price range the Sony WH-1000XM2 and 3 have better sound quality. Noise cancelling is on pair with the Bose. But Bose is easily more comfortable on head.

I have both. For music I'll use the Sonys but for movies I'll use the Bose.

I don't have a NC headphones but what I understand is that you are paying for the noise cancelling rather than the sound quality. Still solid quality though.

    • Honestly the sounds quality is not great, IMO I would put airpods slightly above these in terms of sound quality. In terms of comfort, they are very comfortable, and great for long sessions. You'd never forget these were on your head like you would with airpods, however they are light enough to ignore after a while. Of course the noise cancelling is top notch.

    • I own the QC35 II myself and, although not comparable to something like the HD6xx, the sound quality is very good for NC headphones.

If determining sound quality as the level of enjoyment you get while listening to music, it is very subjective. It also depends on what music you listen to.

From the reviews I've read and comments on audio websites comparing the two, the Bose are a more balanced headphone overall, sounding more natural. The Sonys have a heavier bass and sharper treble, which may sound more exciting for some people, but for others it may turn them off. Again it's very subjective, and depends on what you listen to.

  • Great headphones.
I saw these for 290 at sydney airport shop at arrival - assume they are selling tax free.

  • New model must be on its way

  • These replaced my Beats. so much better wow

    • sound wise i reckon studio is better. QC35 lacks bass IMO.

MUST resist. Already got sony 1000xm2, 1000xm3 and bose qc25.

    • im in the same mind set have anc9s and jbl duets, only 2 ears.

    • +5

Then definitely resist. Why that many pairs?

    • Never too early to shop for Christmas.

    • +4

Just complete the collection already mate, BUY!!!! :p

  • on a tight budget this month, but…..

  • This or the QC25. 130 more for wireless

    • +2

Wireless is all the rage. Don't be cheap. Get the QC35 mkII

      • Haha okay you convinced me!

  • +1

Just replaced the cushions on my 25’s today. Still got life in them yet!

    • Did you get a good deal on the pads? If so, where?

      • Just from eBay. Less than $10.

    • Just ordered the same thing! Thought about jumping to new pair but they work so good and new pads is like a new life

  • Bought a pair. Hopefully cash back and trs as flying internationally soon. Wanted to pay closer to 300 but all good.

  • +2

Fyi just checked JB Hifi is seling them for $340 as well.
You get a Bose and you get a Bose.
Or maybe there is a new model out.

Dammit. Was thinking of saving up for the B&W PX or the Senn. Wireless.

  • Bought used for a week and returned. Noise cancelling too much makes me feel nauseous. Had it on low and still felt weird.
