I am ashamed to say that I have been an OzB member since 2012 and I don’t own a single Eneloop :(

    • +5

      I had to Google lovehoney

      • So did I… 😳

        • I'm glad you did. Are you? :D

        • Now you know what to buy next Valentine’s Day.

In my experience, it’s much more appreciated than chocolates or flowers (especially the luxury Swedish-designed items).

    • +5

      Me neither , caused I bought a LADDA https://m.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/art/70303876/

      • +1

Yeah same, I have LADDA and Varta

      • +3

Those are indeed great value. No Ikea near me sadly.

        • Neither. Not driving an hour to save a few dollars on batteries.

      • +5

This. Why pay $14 when you can get exactly the same batteries (albeit with a plain IKEA sticker) for $7.99.

        • I use LADDA also, but there isn't an IKEA near everyone.

        • +1

          Why? Why???

Because you have to go to IKEA. That's why.

Of course, if you are interested in an earthly experience of hell, presumably some years before your ultimate demise, then go for it. Especially on a Saturday morning. That's the Fourth Circle.

        • So these batteries are 100% the exact same ones as the IKEA ones? :O

          • +1

@krazynayba: People who have throughly tested them side by side with measurements on voltage/capacity etc conclude that they are the same Sanyo batteries.

      • What kind of charger do you use with them?

        • +4

          Nitecore D4

    • +3

It's just herd mentality here. Go buy hobbyking batteries, they're just as good

      • Turnigy LSDs? :)

I have both official eneloops and turnigys.

        Eneloops just look prettier..

Buy some glitter nail polish 💅

I am the same in the way I haven’t bought any but not ashamed.. my dick smith $1 for 8 AAA’s r still in abundanceXD

I bought a bunch. Was cheaper from their eBay store with a 20% coupon. P20BING is the code, not sure if it is expired.

    • Yes correct 20% off with code is better deal at $11.20 for 4x both AA & AAA. Most likely identical stockpile.

      • It is identical, I picked them up today from a Bing Lee store. Coupon still valid. OP should update with details.

  • have some eneloops pro

    bought 4

use 2 in apple magic keyboard

and the charge goes down fast. haven't measured but pretty sure it's less than a month.
dunno how long they suppose to last but pretty sure longer than my experience.

no, i dont sit at computer all day

    • Did you buy them from ebay? There are counterfeits floating around

    • +1

Eneloop Pros aren't meant for that kind of use. More for torches etc needing the extra juice. The trade off with the Pros is quicker discharge.

Use normal Eneloops for longer lifespan, or just buy LADDA's.

      • Replied to wrong comment,

      • thanks for comments.

i'll save the pros for extra juice stuff then.

        we'll see how it goes

No worries, I was rushing my post but margejsimpson said it better below. Pros are for "high-draw devices"

    • Eneloops Pro’s are made for high-draw devices.

    I've moved on to Ladda.

This post is virtually a duplicate of this one

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/447101

However the original post is via bing lee eBay store and includes 20% off with p20bing code.

    • Ps I’ve purchased several AA and AAA packs with click and collect yesterday and they were ready for collection today

  • Great price thanks. Don’t forget Coles rechargeable are half the price of these and almost as good.

    • -1

Apples for apples. You are not comparing the same. Coles batteries were rated high because of their price, not because they are almost as good as Eneloops.

      • Incorrect, according to choice value was only 10% of their overall score: The overall score for rechargeable batteriesis made up of: endurance score (45%) consistency score (25%) self discharge score (20%) value score score (10%).

They definitely rated higher than standard enloops, and almost as good as pros even when you ignore cost. (According to choice)

  • Amazon have the AAA for $14.00(backordered) for Prime ppl.

  • Code P20BING is still working.
Just ordered via Bing Lee eBay at $11.20 with "Click & Collect"

  • Shipping to Melbourne - 9$ per item, 27$ for 3 of these :) next time!
