  • Couldn't check it out.

It said "an error has occurred calculating taxes for one or more products in your card."

    :(

Is that because I didn't buy any DLCs with the game?

Tried again with two separate cards, got a bit further, now it says payment failed…

    • Not sure? I’ve never entered any card details on uPlay before. All I did was sign in and click claim free game and it automatically added it to my library.

Are you going through the promo link or trying to actually purchase it in the store?

      • Silly me, tried to go through the store…

The promo link works better. Just click and it says added to library without having to enter payment details, etc.

EDIT: Also, to check if it's been added to your inventory without downloading UPlay you can see your UPlay Club enabled games here https://club.ubisoft.com/

  • Grabbed it. Thanks OP!

  • Is there any way to claim it without current access to PC? I'm out of country for duration of promo, no access to a PC.

    • Yes, if you wish really hard and think about it in your head, then it might work!

Seriously, some of the questions here. You need access to either the launcher or their website, either on PC, tablet, or mobile - in other words, internet access is necessary.

Seriously, some of these useless aggressive comments here. The deal description and the Ubisoft page was vague af. Can't really assume anything with all these PC launchers providing different ways to claim content.

        • Nothing aggressive here - my grandma (God bless her) always used to say "If you ask a daft question, you will get a daft answer" and in my experience that has held true thus far.
Can you elaborate a method how you could claim a digital game without access to either a PC, tablet, or phone? Judging from your comment below, I think your question was just phrased poorly - what you wanted to know is whether you need the launcher to claim.
And obviously, you do not as you can (and did) claim using the website.

Just claim from their web site.

      • Cheers, claimed through website. Just was horribly rendered on my device, but got there in the end.

    • i claimed mine through browser as well and then checked the app it was there.
on the app it was asking for address and other crap was like wtf

    • I just logged in through browser and bought it

  • Thanks OP

  • Really glad this is happening. The launch of Unity was the literally the worst AC launch ever, so no one played it. Shame, its pretty good.

  • 42GB download

    • Yeah, it showed about 45 GB for me. But it was quick. Took less than 30 minutes.

      • Lucky you! Mine has been downloading for over 4 hours and only achieved 12.83GB of the total 49GB.

Hopefully it completes downloading before the free offer ends :)

        • +1

          Woohoo - 31GB of 49GB - only 7h 50m left!

      • wtf. that speed

        • Yeah, he must be on of those lucky son bich who has gigabit internet connection….

    • farking 50GB for me……gonna take 7 days to download…..

Maybe it should be left as a ruin considering the atrocities it represents.

  • UPlay has ground to a halt.

Now the real problem is - which project will be done first:

    1.Restoration of Notre Dame, Paris

    2.George st Light rail, Sydney

Wow. So much wrong with this thread. So much over active outrage against a trivial joke.

Here’s a tip if you don’t like the comment down vote it and move on. Why engage and turn it into some massive discussion that’s hardly worth the effort.

    • Agreed way too much drama. This site has preferences to hide certain types of deals, so maybe the mods can integrate a drama filter.

Thanks OP, don't have a PC capable of playing this but got a copy for when I do.

    • Yeah, I found that out for myself after downloading it and trying to run it :D

  • Has anyone tried playing this game? The input lag has put me right off.

[EDIT] The game runs better in full screen and the input lag doesn't seem to effect a game like this.

I can't believe there are people who don't really care the cathedral got burnt, regardless if your Catholic or not. Its an awesome historical site for both Catholics and the French people! Also rebuilding it isn't the same, there are just somethings in life that will never come back. Sigh

I actually care. I hate organized (exploitative) religion so have some mixed feelings but it was a beautiful historic building. Such a loss.

      • yeah and i reckon thats the reason why people don't really care too much. If we lost our Great Barrier reef due to oil spills or something like that. Many more people would care, cause its about the environment. Im sure people would spend billions just to get it back, but a building a few centuries year old, not important apparently.

    Hilarious comments!

Cool. Literally the worst AC game ever made…for free! Still enough for a + vote from me.

Ubisoft come out with a buggy, poor performing rushed game, with an arrogant French protagonist, and wonder why it gets panned in the reviews.

  • FYI it's only 13:15 here in QLD but the link says "the event is over"…so much for 5pm on April 25th
