    • Yes, a new phone number is a new service.

  • FYI for anyone trying, the discounted gift cards will only work on Catch.com.au. You must buy it through there.

    • Yup worked for me

  • just confirming,
if ibuy a few services for family members, under my account

will they be considerred new users along with cashrewards eligible?

    • i wondering about this aswell…

Cash Rewards under my account and catch connect could be under their name but cards under my name, eligible?

  • just sent catch a question about expiry dates, adn get told catch connect is different from catch, ill need to contact catch directly

  • +1

I think it’s better to just purchase through catchconnect site via cashrewards. I got the 205gb plan and the cashrewards would have given me $16 cashback. I went through the gift card route and ended up saving less.

  • This is a great deal but Optus just sucks for me

  • just got it for my household..do you know when it ask for porting? during activation the service screen?

    • "Porting your mobile number to Catch Connect is easy. During the activation of your new Catch Connect SIM, simply answer "yes" to the question "Are you bringing your mobile phone number with you?", complete the relevant details and we'll do the rest for you."

      https://catchconnect.com.au/help/bring-phone-number

  • Seems like a basic question but is it easy enough to keep your current number?

    • +1

      should be yes

you port out easily if from a different network

  • Really bad decision buying Catch gift cards from Auspost online shop, almost a week without any shipping update.:(

  • If you have your mobile with Catch Connect, could you verify if from your Voicemail you can call back to a person who left a message by dialling "6" (or some other number)? I know it works on Optus (direct) but it doesn't work on Amaysim.

  • Dumb question but does this include a sim card?

And I see that the Offer ends 11am 29/05/2019, does that mean if I purchase it say at 10am, I can wait to activate it to before 10am on the 28/6/2019?

I literally have a plan ending on the 27/6/2019 so this would work out perfectly if possible.

    Thanks

    • All these new deals with other carriers provide new sim cards, so assume this deal does too. Apparently yes, buy deal until latest time 11am 29/05, but there is no point in waiting until the final hour. I wouldn't leave it to 27/06 to activate (or port over) though.

Don't forget to turn off automatic recharging or you will be charged max recharge amount next year … although this has been said to do over and again, some still forget and complain!

We are sticking with Kogan Mobile though as have been more than happy with their service.

      • Thanks for the info. Can I ask why not to leave it to the 27/06 to activate?

I was going to wait until my current plan with kogan ends, and then the next day activate/port over to catch. Does that not work? If my service has ended can I not port over or something?

        Thanks for your help

  • +1

Anyone know if the 30 day activation period is enforced what happens after 30 days if you have not activated?
    Thanks

  • a question for experts,

I accidentally used a 1 month catch sim for this month,
and ive already bought the 12 month catch sim,

to use this I need to port out and then port into the 12 month one

ive bought a $2 telstra sim,

am I able to port my number to this empty $2 Telstra sim?

  • brought on 2nd of may and still haven't receive sim card…anyone got this problem? chat with them and they said

"If not received by then we can send out a replacement. If I process a replacement now and you receive the simcard tomorrow from the original order you will not be able to use it"

that's really screwed up system, i willing to pay for replacement sim in express post but they can't, how wierd.

biggest problem with catch connect are delivery of sim card are slow and not trusted unlike Kogan i can expect it delivery within 7 days…

    • I got mine pretty quick tbh

      • you know where they send it from…?

  • +1

    wow that was quick

ported out of Catch to telstra,
and back to telstra all within 30 mins

Was a bit worried they might deem me not as a new customer

    happy as larry!

    • You mean you ported back to Catch after porting to Telstra?

And they accepted you as a new customer even though you were a catch customer 30 mins ago?!

      That's awesome!

  • How long does it take to get the SIM in the mail?

  • The data speed &coverage I'm getting with catch is terrible compared to Kogan!! Wish I can refund

  • Is there a mobile app to keep track of data usage?

  • +3

Offer "Now ending 11am 24/07/2019 Sydney time."

    • Thanks so purchase b4 then ?

  • Does "new services" include if I was with CatchConnect then switched over to another carrier for a time (say a month or a year) and then switched back?

  • This is really good, I'm in a dilemma now whether I should jump over or stick with Aldi. Not that I need the extra data.

  • Older post, but ill try my luck if anyone is subscribed.

If i purchase a 365 day plan, can i set monthly limits (say 12Gb) so by daughter dosent use the total allowance in 1 month making the plan awful from that point.

Its a risk… but hopefully the dashboard has that option.

    • You can't do that unfortunately, no option for it in the dashboard.

    • You can only do that on the phone itself. Android has a built in data capped. Not sure about iOS.

  • Offer expires 24th July 11am

    • If I buy a sim now, do I have activate before 24 July, or do I have 30 days to activate? What if it doesn't arrive in the post by that deadline?

      • pretty sure you just have to buy it before then.

      • It says here: https://catchconnect.com.au/products/mobile/365-day-plan/1

"You must activate within 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised in the promotion (whichever is earlier). This offer is available to new services only. Now ending 11am 24/07/2019 Sydney time."

        • Yeh but if you don't get your sim sent befor 24/07 then it's kinda false advertising.

I'm sure that the sim is pre loaded with the yearly data allowance and needs to be activated 30 days after purchase can anyone confirm?

          • +1

@Stahh: i confirmed that activation does not expire, you can activate with the deal whenever

  • +1

I just switched to Catch Connect from Kogan, activated the service 1 week ago… and the Cher song "If I could turn back time" is ringing in my head!

I am metro Melbourne, eastern suburbs and get call drop outs, intermittent internet, people call me and it doesn't even ring - they get my voicemail greeting. Absolute pathetic, I was with Kogan for 2 years previously with ZERO issues.

Anyone have any similar experiences? Does anyone know if they have a cooling off period?

    • +1

Wow that’s very unlucky! We live in south Sydney and nothing like that. My daughter notices no difference compared to Kogan (which I still have). Not sure about cooling off period. I hope you’ll get it sorted soon

    • +1

Melbourne, eastern suburbs. Top speeds aren't the same as Kogan but more than enough for me. No problems noticed here

    • +1

I dont know what the cooling off period is but the sooner you try the better. Certainly grounds to quit. Sorry to hear you are gaving such bad run. I have been with Vodafone now Kogan for many years myself with no issues. Outer South-eastern Melb suburbia.
