Unlimited Usenet Access €5.99 (~AUD$9.52) Per Month @ Tweaknews

101

Tweak News is currently running a sale on their unlimited highspeed plan. I've been using a Tweak block account as my primary backup for years so jumping all over this deal.

They are offering their 12-month plan for €71,88 (AUD - 114.19), this plan comes with 60 connections, 3,200 days of binary retention, unlimited downloads and uncapped download speeds (was able to hit over 250 Mbps on a hotel WiFi connection). You also get free access to a newsreader with built in search called Usenet Wire.

If you are already an active Tweak customer, use incognito mode to see the deal on the site.

  • More expensive compared to this USD30/year

    Is Tweaknews much better?

    • +1

Ninja follows DMCA and Tweaknews follows NTD.

      • is there much difference

        • +1

DMCA takedowns are quick (less than an hour) NTD can take days = bigger opportunity to get a file before it's taken down.

If you get one provider get one that abides by NTD, other people do dual provider with one cheap DMCA abiding provider and a block NTD abiding provider.

    • Tweaknews will allow you to improve your completion when paired with NGN. Even if you don't want to sign up for their recurring plan you should try out one of their block accounts.

I use Newshosting as my primary which is the same backbone as Ninja, pair either of these US based providers with Tweak and you are in good shape. Tweak runs off European server clusters.

  • Very curious about this - last Usenet I had was with Astraweb years ago before Netflix - what indexes do you use with this and is there still a lot of content?
I'm so out of it :(

      I use

      Ninja + Eweka

      Drunkenslug
      Nzbfinder
      nzbplanet

      • What is your setting on Ninja? I'm very new to Ninja, I don't get max speed download despite 100mbps on Telstra cable

        • make sure you are maxing out your connections through your newsreader to get the most speeds.

I have a lifetime sub with nzbgeek, how would you compare it with ds or nzbplanet?

        • Honestly.

I first started with NZBPlanet when i first started with no knowledge.
          Recently got DrunkenSlug and NZBFinder.

If i had to choose one, I'd keep NZBFinder.

I'll be dropping NZBplanet when my subscription runs out.

@Schema: I would recommend not talking about indexers, the less you talk about them the longer they will exist.

You may want to put "per month" in the post title.

  • This is great! It includes Australian servers VPN as well.

  • As an existing customer do I need to make a new account, or did someone work out how to purchase this as a new subscription on an existing account? I'm paying about 90 euro for lighting, so this is much better.

    • If you go to incognito mode and sign up through that page it should just apply the rate to your existing account. If not I'd try messaging their support team and asking for deal, have had some success with that in the past.

      • I was doing it on my phone today without luck. Did it on my desktop just now through incognito- when you put the email for the old account it gives you an option to apply the offer to that account as a new sub.

edit: it actually updated my existing sub which had 2 months on it, not that I care but it may matter to someone else. So I lost 2 months effectively.

  • Will I still require an indexer with this service?

    • If you signup with Tweak you can get access to this newsreader: https://www.usenetwire.com/

It has built in search so you don't have to use an indexer if you dont want to but will still support the importing of nzb files.

    Thats super expensive

    • Which provider would you recommend?

      • I'd go Eweka

      • I haven't used Eweka but they seem to be well received on the forums. Has anyone compared the speeds and completion between tweak and eweka?

    • What other provider that follows NTD Would you recommend other than Eweka that is 1 EUR cheaper?
You will not find cheaper than this, so this is a pretty invalid neg.

      • That's what I was getting at, and at least you recommended an Omicron provider. Eweka also has less connections.

  • Thanks Op
