    • If it's too good to be true, don't wait hours, get in there

  • JB HIFI called. I’m not picking up. Walking to it right now. Hopefully they won’t cancel it since I’m gonna be there in person!!!

    • Good strategy, good luck

    • Keen for updates.

      • Updates below.

  • If anyone is having second thoughts, or the missus isn't happy with your purchase, I'll happily buy someone's in Vic for the same price. Pretty disappointed they cancelled mine even once I was in store with it in my hands. :(

    • +1

You should have just walked out. if you had paid for the items and they were passed to you over the counter, legally, the transaction has completed and the goods are yours.

      • +3

Exactly! I managed to fight and got it.

  • Thanks so much OP - just picked mine up. There were two more bundles waiting for pick-up :-)
I had an old Force Feedback wheel that I couldn't get to work with Windows 10 anymore and I was looking at these wheels for the last 2 years and I couldn't get myself to spend $350 for them.

  • Got a call from JB that my click and collect order is cancelled :((((

  • +1

Good Deal for me. Saved $199.

  • +2

Call from them and cancelled, pissed drove over 30 minutes and as I got there was cancelled.

    • +2

You should’ve fought for it. I did and got mine.

      • +1

Yeah the manager just laughed at me when i came in to get it.
        Bit of a (profanity) tbh

  • Super!

  • Got my click and collect cancelled via phone call. Pissed off as I'm now stuck with a gift card, with no idea as to when it'll be reissued to me.

    • Just ask them to refund your gift cards

  • Great first post. I just got in before the deadline I reckon. Jb guy was saying to the cashier that all orders have been frozen as he walked out to give me mine.

  • Got a call from the store saying they were told by head office that they cannot honor the order.

    • Really??

Has anyone got one in their hands yet?

    • you can't even find a contact number for head office

  • +14

DO NOT PICK UP THEIR CALL! And go straight into store! They want to cancel it even though I was there in person! But I fought and managed to get it! So do the same. Do not pick up, go straight, and be prepared to fight for it!

    • No difference for me. I stayed at the centre. Called the store back and got a friendlier manager. He apparently tried to follow something up for me and no deal. Even after stating it was in my hands and I was practically out the door.

      • Even asked if there was anything he could do from his end he claimed hell get written up for it if he tries to put it through. Pretty disappointed to see people are still getting there's. Not very clean cut obviously.

I understand an error, but you can't have it both ways. Process what's gone through and keep it fair to everyone who made a genuine purchase and effort.

    • +1

As per JB HiFi’s own website terms:

7.3 Where JB Hi-Fi cancels your Order after acceptance it will send you an e-mail notifying you of cancellation.

I received no such email so as far as I know my order is complete and ready to collect.

I wouldn’t accept a verbal ‘no’ when their own website says an order cancellation notification has to be writing in the form of an email.

      • If you see my other posts, the order was processed/collected and in my hands. But different to cancelling before anything exchanged hands. That's like calling up everyone up on this list and telling them to bring it back. 🤷‍♂️

  • +3

Far out. The one 2 hour period I didn’t have time to check Ozb and this come up. Been waiting for months for a good deal and totally missed out.

  • Has anyone who chose delivery had the order cancelled?

    • Not yet

    • +1

Not yet. I might actually go tonight and try to get it.

I made the mistake of ordering a G920. I thought only that could play on PC :((((( but they said they'd change it for me.

      • G920 is PC and Xbox
        G29 is PC and PS4

  • Just received an email from JB saying order is confirmed for delivery, has anyone else go to this ?

    • +1

Pretty sure that's an automatic email, I got it too.

    • I got mine already. Got it through click and collect

    • Received an email fifteen minutes ago with the text "Your order JBxxxx is prepared and is about to be picked up by our carrier." Order is showing as "Completed" with a status of each item as "Shipped".
Now the nervous wait for a tracking number delivery as 'Shipping information received by Australia Post'.

For those interested, I placed the order around 1:40pm.

  • +2

my delivery order in vic just got changed to completed and shipped for both items…yet to receive a call…i am hopeful

  • Fking ridiculous I missed this…

  • Just got shipping and tracking number so there's hope for people who ordered for delivery

    • Yeah same for me

    • mind if I ask, if you made the order before 2:30?
      Thx

      • Yes probs 2:10

  • Dang I successfully bought for delivery but assuming there's no chance they'll actually go through with it.

    • +1

      Read comment above

      • Mine is still showing status as 'in progress'. Fingers crossed but i'm doubtful they'll process it.

  • Craigiburn store called me and cancelled my order..they had to call another 7 people to notify them of the mistake.

  • Maybe is there is some hope for deliveries

  • +4

Once the goods have been handed over/signed for by the purchaser, the right to cancel the order no longer exists, as there is no incomplete or unfulfilled order; it becomes your legal possession. If that happens to anyone else, absolutely refuse and leave with it. It’s on camera - tell them to do whatever they need to do, but that they won’t be obstructing you nor will they touch you or your property. It does not matter that you are on the premises still. Good luck!

  • +5

This will be JB employees working overtime tonight chasing down the delivery truck drivers

    https://youtu.be/rcKbt9my_WI?t=68

  • Just got a call from JB saying they have cancelled my order.

  • The status of my delivery order on my jb account is showing “cancelled” now :(

    • Yet to receive any email/call

    • What was the state of the order before they canceled?

Mine is showing as completed with a toll tracking number assigned.
Tracking doesn’t show it as collected yet however I did receive a call from toll to confirm I will be home this afternoon to receive the delivery.

      • Looks like youre one of the lucky ones. Mine was showing "in progress" before it got cancelled.

        • How long ago did you place your order? I ordered at 2pm and it still shows "in progress"

        • I ordered at 2:16pm

      • Yeah same with me, but nothing came up.

  • +14

Oh man I'm going to go down there and cuss the hell out of that $16/hour 20 year old tafe student with the goatee. It's 100% that guy's fault.

    • +3

Oh…that guy?! It's absolutely his fault.
I've had dealings with that guy before. He's the worst.

  • Hmm… I can't get to the shop till tomorrow. Confirmed ready for pickup. This will be interesting…

    • Update: Picked up on Sunday, no dramas. Attempted to return the shifter today, return processed in the shop but money to be refunded by the online team. Had a call today from the shop to say it can’t be refunded since it was a bundle. They’ve requested I come back and pick up the item or return the wheel for a full refund. At this stage, I’m going to go back and get the shifter.

      • I returned the shifter and got the same response from online.
I just told them it wasn't a bundle and the items are invoiced individually.
There was a promo price applied to the wheel but the shifter was full price and as per their
terms a refund for change of mind is allowed.
I got my refund. Nowhere on the invoice does it say bundle!

        • Did you speak to the shop or someone from head office? I verbally agreed on the phone to comeback and get it tomorrow, but as you say the items are listed individually. The store I returned it to was a different shop from where it was picked up too.

          • @johnode: It was in store at a different location to where I picked the items up.Head office had replied to the manager
that I wasn't entitled to a refund, but he felt otherwise after I stated my case and showed the invoicing.

  • +1

Got a cc text went in store seemed all good ,but waited 30mins because they couldn't find it on their system. The manager came out with a cheap apology about the pricing error and brushed me off after complaining.
Still haven't received a order cancelation text or email a bit annoyed.

  • FML. I would've bought even at $299.

    • Why? Used in excellent condition go for $200!

  • +1

Oh man, hope more people end up getting theirs instead of it being canned. I nabbed mine a couple years back as Dick Smith closed its stores for $50 and a carton of beer to the store manager. I can't ever imagine why Dick Smith had to close down mind you :D

I've only used it for maybe 10 hours as I've never got around to either setting it up to be half decently comfortable at my desk or purchasing any such seats/stands for it, but seeing this post has piqued my interest to set it up with Forza 7 on Xbox.

    • +3

Forza is horrible. It's made for controllers since it's an arcade game.

Try Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2.

Also, learn how and when to brake. There's great videos on YouTube. It's not as easy as you might think and it;s what slowed me down for ages until I changed where, when and how I brake.

  • +2

Got a text saying mine was picked up and on the way. Got another text saying it was delivered. Had a look online and it appears it has been taken back to jb hi fi

    • +2

      Wow, that is hectic!

That is a lot of effort form the to reroute it back to store!

      • I am still yet to receive a phone call from jbhifi or have my order status updated though.

        • My tracking number was working however now tells me it’s invalid on the toll site. Don’t think this we’ll end well!

          • @snaggot: I asked toll what happened and this is what I got

"Please be advised that the consignment JBH******* was returned to the sender today.

There might be a problem with the parcel that is why the driver return it."

  • +1

ordered via cc around 3 pm, got the text after 5 mins….i guess the store isnt really that busy.

got lucky as the store has not been informed yet, it was a smooth transaction.

oth, why i did i eve buy one, i already have the ps4 ($220 from HN) and thrustmaster ($199 from ms) for xbox. might just sell both.

    • I'll buy this one off you if you're in Vic. If you hunt down my comments above, I got shafted even with it in my hands in store.

      • sorry am too far, considering my ps4 is still brand new, a warranty replacement from HN, claimed after 20 months of use lol.

        • Good luck! Good idea.

    • Sell for $400

  • +1

Was psyched to see this deal. Always wanted one. Managed to get on in CC with a ready for collection message at 2pm. Basically ran to the store and picked it up at 2:23pm! Got home, fired up Forza 7 demo while Horizons and Dirt download.

…turns out I'm shit at car racing games. Like really bad. It's a good deal and all but I think I just wasted $200 :(

    • +2

      I'll come pick it up

      • -3

        haha …no

    • +1

I've heard the wheel isn't that great with Forza games.

Also, have you tried calibrating it and or getting the force feedback settings right? Once you get your settings all down to your liking it should work much better. You may need to download some or look up someone's settings online. I wouldn't give up just yet.

      • no yet actually. Will check it out thanks

    • Nah mate, it's not you that's bad. Forza is bad. Buy assetto corsa, the handling in that game is absolutely amazing in comparison. It's a shame because I bought my fanatec setup to play forza, but I just can't get í feeling right

      • well hopefully Dirt is better. But 30GB! almost done…

    • ahha, thats exactly like me. I got a g27 + next level gtpro seat for the ps3, realised I'm terrible at racing games and never played Gran Turismo again. And now I got this steering wheel…

      • +1

Like I said to the other guy, make sure your settings are right. The wheel with default settings probably feels really delayed or your car just doesn't turn well. It'll be like your car has heaps of understeer. You'll probably need to look up settings for each and every game you play. It may be different each time. There are a lot of people who really know what they are doing and they normally have their setup somewhere. In game forums people often have their setup in their signature. Start with their numbers as a base and then adjust if needed.

  • +2

Got a call from them. Cancelled even after receiving the ready for collection text. Lol what a joke.

  • +1

I’m happy and sad that it got cancelled. Didn’t really need it but also wanted it because it was a bargain buy haha

  • Is it even legal for them to recall a package that is already sent?
Surely once they have processed the payment the transaction is complete and you now own the item.
    I'm really curious about that.

    • +1

Is it even legal for them to recall a package that is already sent?

You agreed to the Website Terms of Sale when you made your order on the website

      7. CANCELLATION OF ORDERS

7.1 JB Hi-Fi reserves the right to cancel, at any time before delivery and for whatever reason, an Order that it has previously accepted. JB Hi-Fi may do this for example, but without limitation, where:

      (c) Goods ordered were subject to an error on the Website, for example, in relation to a description, price or image, which was not discovered prior to the Order being accepted;

  • My delivery order was cancelled. FFS. Now I'm stuck with a $200 GC

No email or txt or anything, just says "order cancelled" under my account

  • should i open the items? jb might contact and ask me to bring back the items. or send an email etc.

    • Open it if you've got it. If they call and try and offer a refund saying the order should have been cancelled, tell them it's already been opened and used. They can't resell it once you've used it so it will be worthless to them.

People who have yet to collect or chose delivery unfortunately will have a lower chance of the order actually being fulfilled now so if you've got it…enjoy!

    • +4

If you have it you have it. They can't ask for it back if the transaction has been completed. In your in the green mate! Enjoy it
