    • Was your shifter back ordered in your order? My theory is that they forgot to cancel the orders where the shifter is back ordered and so the orders made when they had stock are cancelled, but the back ordered ones escaped and are getting delivered. Dunno, just a theory :/

Guys, my order show as completed, the shifter got cancelled (obviously), but the wheel was marked as shipped. Already had my refund email and all. Should I let my hope up? Perhaps there's a slim chance they sent the wheel before HQ reached out to them.

I understand it's a price error but the inconsistency in the way JB handling it just makes the matter worst.

will be a long next couple of days

  • Shipped yesterday. Thanks op.

Great news, just picked it up a few hours back. Looking at the package, only the wheel was sent, and the invoice did not state a price.

Well it's been a wild ride, good luck to anyone whose order is still going.

I went to return my shifter. I signed the document, and got the return receipt (to PayPal). I left, and within 30 mins, they called, and said they can't honour the return! WTF!? They told me to give my home address, and they would ship it back to me. I said no way, and that I will call the "headquarters". OzBargain is my headquarters. What can I do to get my refund? What actions can I take? ACCC? Legal?

Edit: My tax invoice clearly itemized the items, with the shifter at $79.

    • I went to return my shifter as well, but because it wasn't actually working. They called me later trying to get me to take the product back or exchange the item. I kept on telling them no. They already processed the whole refund while i was instore.. Just keep saying no and hope they refund you.

      • Was it PayPal?

        • nah wasn't through paypal. I paid with debit card and picked it up in store. They said it would take 3-4 business days to process.

          • @hahayes: Ah, it probably gone through, but with PayPal, I think someone in headquarters will have to action it, so I've got a chance of not getting my refund back :S

            • @Ameowzon: I went in yesterday and returned the shifters, signed and received receipts.
Today just received the call saying they aren't honouring the refund and I either have to return the whole thing or take back the shifters

              I paid via credit card.

              Any update on your end?

@impoze: Contact your credit card issued bank and show them the refund receipt and do a charge back.

                • @wtfnodeal: never done a charge back via CC,

                  can they do partial?

                  • @impoze: Why don't you find out

                    • @wtfnodeal: If the charge back is deemed to be invalid, then you are likely to pay costs.

                      • @mathew42: LOL. 2 items on the receipt and 1 was returned to the store for a refund with the proof of refund receipt. How hard it is for the bank to understand that? Even if the bank is unable to do a charge back I don't believe a fee will apply or at least my bank didn't charge me a fee when it told me the charge back was unnecessary after it contacted the retailer and found out it had already processed the refund.

It was purchased as a bundle deal. Be happy you saved $230.

      • No, it was purchased as a full price shifter and a promotional priced wheel!
That is exactly how it showed in your account, and exactly how it was invoiced.

        • +4

However the intent was to sell the product as a bundle for $349. This was clear from both the website and the post.

Why can people not just be happy they received a bargain and on sell the gear shifter?

          • @mathew42: Why can't you stop being so salty? Whatever the intent was the reality is they didn't!
J.B even cancelled wheels and just sent the shifter, that's not a bundle now is it.

@kiarod: I've said previously that I didn't agree with cancelling the wheel and sending the shifter as it is doubtful that people would be happy with that. There has also been some chaos around the cancellation of orders.

Some poor sod at JB HiFi made a mistake that has cost the company significant cash not just in lost revenue but also in rectifying the mess. Some people here appear unsatisfied with grabbing a great deal and want to take further advantage. The phrase 'rubbing salt into a wound' comes to mind.

              • +4

@mathew42: They cancelled the wheel sent only the shifter for $79 that clearly meant the wheel was only part that had pricing error not the shifter. So they honoured the pricing error on the wheel and the buyer changes its mind on the shifter wants a refund so it looks fine right?

Sadly my order was refunded this morning.

I had the wheel and shifter delivered this morning. Bit surprised it wasn’t cancelled. Came from JB Carindale (Brisbane) according to my emails if anyone’s wondering. There are probably half a dozen closer shops to me than that one.
Now to decide whether to keep it or not. Wife hates (me) video gaming. Kids are 5 and 3, so prob bit young for using it. I’ve got FH3 on XB1. Playing AC odyssey now though. Hmm

    • If you're near Brisbane I'd be more than happy to buy it from you, I missed out.

  • Set mine up yesterday after buying the Next Level Racing wheel stand, shown in the link below. Luckily, they had a model that had been partially assembled in store and I managed to get it for $150. Absolutely superb stand and worth the full asking price.

It takes driving games to a whole new level and I usually get bored fairly quickly with driving games.
