  • My delivery order is still in progress at the moment… anyone else?

    • Yes same.

  • Is it just me or can you not push the brake the entire way down? Compared to the clutch/gas you can barely push it and it just feels mushy and hard.

    • Not just you. Meant to be that way

    • Some other commenter mentioned something about a mod spring you can buy to get a "progressive" brake feel.

  • Got mine with the store manager trying to stop me from have it

  • I’ve got no cockpit, so what’s the best way of securing this to play on my XB1……in front of a large TV?

    • +1

Get a cockpit or at least a wheel stand. Gt art old model is about $100 delivered ($80 or so pickup), new model it $169 delivered. Look it up on eBay.

  • Can someone please upload a copy of their receipt so I can price match.

  • If only I have an attic space for arcades and simulators…. *Puts in things to have list if I win the lotto.

  • +1

    That didn’t take too long… https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/elanora/xbox/logitech-g920-d…

Btw, what is an appropriate price to sell at without shifter?

    • Ok. What's the standard price for all this gear? Wondering if at $400 is he even offering a good deal? Assume they go on sale at times if only a small discount.

      • Rather buy from gamesmen for $399. That's the current deal JB was most prob trying to match but stuffed it up.

    • The price RANGE does my head in.
      From $318.88

      https://www.megabuy.com.au/logitech-941-000126-g920-gaming-s…

To well over $500. Domayne were selling it recently, apparently for $587. Not including shifter. What the.

      • wow…thats a pretty inflated RRP

    Just an update,

All outstanding orders are being cancelled.

Refunds will be to original method of payment, this means those of us that bought and paid using gift cards will get new gift cards issued. Management won't budge on this.

Those that used their $10 vouchers won't be refunded that amount but can get new vouchers issued by contacting JB support. If you don't contact support, you lose the voucher value.

Process of above can take up to a week and for funds to return to your account. JB blaming the bank for refund processing time.

Be careful some people have only the g29/g920 cancelled with the shifter still being processed. Happened to me and I, must say fairly dodgy of JB. You need to contact JB to get it fully cancelled. Check your account.

Overall very disappointed with JB's response to this incorrect pricing incident. Wasted tons of time yesterday ordering and dealing with support and now stuck with $200 GCs and an apology for the inconvenience.

Well hope the above clears up the confusion for anyone still in the grey and waiting for an official response from JB.

    • +1

I don't see how this response should surprise anyone as it was pretty clear from the original post that it almost certainly was a pricing error.

If it looks like a pricing error, then:
      * Don't choose delivery
      * Collect from the store as soon as possible
      * Be prepared wait for refund and for it to be in the same form as payment.

Only issue I have is JB not cancelling the entire order.

    • I actually got a refund in less than 24 hours which is the best I could hope for considering the circumstances.

    • Just another update

JB Hifi Support changed their mind and are NOT issuing new $10 vouchers… here's the response I now got "Yes I can honour the $10 coupon for a future order - if you place an order, email back on this trail and we can refund you that amount".

They really don't like making it easy!

      Ridiculous!

Ordered mine at 1:39 PM and still got a cancellation. :(

    • +1

wow, my cousin ordered his after you did and he just picked his up at Chaddy less than an hour ago no issues at all.

      • Might be a Chaddy thing. Mine was at Chadstone too, no cancellations, no calls no issues at all.

      • Could he please post order confirmation with the order number, i am making traction with support to get mine honoured but need a copy of someones order that was honoured but has to have order number

        • Same if someone could post/msg proof as I am trying to do the same.

          • @MissKitty: I posted mine earlier I think page 2 of this thread? I did it via computer though so I don't have it here

        • Do you have PM's disabled by any chance. I don't know if you've seen my ordeal but I wouldn't PM'ing you to get an idea of how you're going about this.

          Much appreciated. Thanks.

        • I posted my proof of purchase earlier but order but blurred my order number. Check page 2

          • @ExtraSalt: Could you pm me an unblurred one, jb tells me its probably fake like wtf haha

            • +1

@BenTheBargainer2013: Based on your name, I can tell you are an OzB OG, but along with the order number comes with a lot of personal details. Sorry dude… It was picked up at Fountain Gate if that helps

              • @ExtraSalt: No probs tbh its probably better i keep my refund as i am trying to save money atm hahaha

              • @ExtraSalt: Also i have only just realised how long i have been on here, man i have got some awesome deals over the years

  • +1

What's with the 4 or 5 people going through and negging any comments that say bad things about JB? Have we got sockpuppets?

    • +2

I've negged a few comments where I thought the poster showed as sense of entitlement.
Price errors are like rolling a dice. No guarantees and sometimes you get lucky.

  • +4

If your order is still in progress, make sure you expand the "Show Details" and check if both items are still in progress. Just checked mine and its still showing in progress but in the show details, G29 is cancelled but not the shifter. It looks like JB is trying to send out the shifter without G29/G920. Dodgy !!!

  • +7

Just picked mine up today no issues.

I ordered it for click and collect at 2:10pm yesterday and received a confirmation email one hour later that it was ready to pickup. I then got a call from JB Hi-Fi at 4:30pm which I missed initially and then I returned their call five minutes later (at this point I didn't know that they were calling around to cancel orders). Nice girl on the phone said they were initially calling me to cancel the order as they were being told by head office to do so due to it being a pricing error. However in the time that it took me to call them back, they talked it over with the store manager and decided not to cancel my particular order. I said great and that I will have to pick it up tomorrow. She said that's fine and it will be sitting here waiting for you with your name on it. Went in this morning at 10am and picked it up no dramas. In fact the staff were really nice. Judging by the amount of people that had their orders cancelled, looks like I got pretty lucky. I didn't even return the shifter and buy it again cheaper elsewhere to save $20 as suggested in the comments as I was too happy with their service :)

Now time to sell my old G25 on eBay and also time to hunt down a good racing stand. The Next Level Racing wheel stand looks like the most solid in terms of stability and portability but at $250 they are more expensive than the GT Art Steering wheel stand which can be had on eBay for as low as $120. The other plus for the Next Level Stand is that it is upgradeable with their cockpit seats if later on down the line you decide to turn it into a proper setup

    • Upgrading the next level racing stand is expensive as. Better to decide whether you want a cockpit or not now. I have the next level gtpro V2 is great, but takes up alot of space but if on carpet you can slide it around. JB blacktown has the next level stand on display.

Another alternative is the X mount gt art for $152 using that pkoala Ebay code, it looks very similar to the gt omega apex which is on youtube. Photos hard to see on the eBay listing but a difference between the 2 looks to be the steering wheel mount, the omega tilts where as gt art doesn't. Either way just looking at the design it should be just as stable as the next level version. I can post feedback when mine arrives next week but I think the eBay code will expire before it arrives.

      • looking at the picture again on a pc, wheel mount looks exactly the same as gt omega apex so is adjustable. Pretty sure its the same product rebranded but….the seller jacked up the price…$161 with pkoala now…

        • Yeah I would go the full hog and do a cockpit but I simply don't have the space in my existing media room. Down the line when I move out and get a bigger house that will change which is why I was looking at a racing wheel stand that will give me that option to add a cockpit seat in the future. I really like the GT Omega Apex racing wheel stand as reviews online say it is just as solid as the Next Level stand from Pagnian but looks to be a lot cheaper at least on eBay where sellers appear to be selling rebranded versions of it such as this one https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Racing-Simulator-Cockpit-GTXTREM… for $115 including delivery.

I asked the seller whether this is actually the official GT Omega Apex that they are selling or at least identical to it as I want to make sure I can add the cockpit to it later on down the line like the official ones from GT Omega offer.

Would be very interested in hearing your feedback on the GT Art.

  • Ordered G29 yesterday for c/c at about 3.00pm and just picked it up about an hour ago.
Going to take the shifter back tomorrow for refund as already have one for the G920. I didn't
want to push my luck until I had the wheel at home.

    • Was your order marked as cancelled in your JB online account? I'm considering heading in today to try and pick up my C/C since I got the ready to pick up email yesterday.

      • Nope was marked as in progress. When going into details in account,
the wheel had promotional price applied $229 discount.

    • How are you going to take the shifter back? It's a bundle isn't it?

      • Nope, they are listed separately. Nowhere does it say they are bundled together, plus others have already returned for a refund.

        • So how much does it mean you'll be getting the wheel for?

  • Right, I think I know what stand I’m going to buy. Next, what driving games are best for this setup?

The Crew 2 Gold Edition is going cheap right now. Worth a look???

    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/crew-2-gold-edition/p/695208…

    Forza Motorsport 7?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07219WHDJ

    Forza Horizon 4?

    • +2

The Crew 2 handles really well with a wheel. DiRT Rally 4 too, and the F1 games. F1 2019 is coming out in 2 months.

  • +2

Not as good as this deal but you can buy G29/G920 + force shifter for $349 from JB now. Probaby can try to return the force shifter the following day. $270 for G29/G920 is pretty good i think.

Not sure if this is a new or existing offer.

    • This is what the original deal was meant to show up as the final cost.

  • I was looking for this the day before this price came up. Damn it!

  • +1

Refund just received via Paypal. No e-mail or phone call received to date. Pretty lousy service, but unsurprising and don't really care as I didn't need the wheel.

    • I’m unsure what to do with mine. It shows completed and shipped on the website however the tracking number is blank.

Guess I’ll give it a few business days and if it Dorsett move I’ll have to contact support - who will no doubt cancel the order.

      • In similar position. Check you despatched/last email from JB there should be the tracking details there. Despite mine appearing as shipped using tracking details it looks to be still at the local store awaiting courier pickup.

        • Yeah, we are in the exact same situation. Guess we will see!

        • Any movement on your order today?

          • @snaggot: Tracking now states that my order has been collected and will arrive tomorrow.

  • +1

Went to see what the JB Hifi store that I chose to click and collect had to say. The lady at the counter told me to wait and she could (pretend to walk to the back) talk to the manager. Waited for 5 mins and came back said the deal was posted on ozbargain with a glitch price and had to cancel my order. I told her some store managers honour the orders anyway then she said not this store and nothing she could do about it. Well I guess next time if I ever order anything from JBHifi online again I will choose other more friendly stores to collect my orders. Otherwise just buy from Amazon at least their policy is more consistent for most orders.

  • Looks like the correct price for the bundle is $349 instead of $199. Oh well, still better than $580 for the bundle.

  • Gave it a go tonight, not much of a car guy but have the Lenovo VR headset so wanted to give sim racing a go.

Think I prefer sticking to FPS for my casual games.

Definitely going to return the shifter as I can't even drive manual with the paddles

    • i returned the shifter mins after picking up the wheel…i mainly only play F1 which requires 2 hands on the wheel as much as possible, so Paddles > Shifter for me…wow i didnt realise how crap i was until i got the wheel! haha

      • -4

Returning the shifter is exactly why JB HiFi and other retailers cancel orders when a price error occurs. You've taken advantage of the first pricing error mistake and then unsatisfied at this, taken advantage of the second error in not invoicing as a bundle.

        • The invoice clearly had 2 lines items Wheel with the discount and a discount code in green, Shifter was full price with no discount…have you read your invoice? or you bitter because you missed out?

Retailers cancel price error orders when they realise there is an error to maximise profits and reduce the impact. Sorry i've offended you, in future i'll just accept the useless piece of technology have it gather dust in the corner.

          • @ExtraSalt: Retailers cancel price errors to maximise profits minimise losses.

You could also have on-sold the shifter, probably at a discount, acknowledging that even at $200 the wheel is an historical low.

            • @mathew42: ..or return it to the store, not bother with selling, Paypal and the AusPost queue, JB gets their stock back and sells it for full retail.

              • +2

@ExtraSalt: Full retail for the shifter is $79, so JB will not gain anything by you returning it and have paid staff twice to sell the shifter plus restock.

Retailers don't have to offer a change of mind refund. They choose to in the hope that people will make more impulse purchases, balancing out the cost of returns.

                • @mathew42: Pay staff twice? lol ye ok. because otherwise that staff member wouldn't have otherwise been rostered on to do the 9-5 for a 10min transaction….right. move along mate. If you want to hang around, can you define 'impulse' purchases? i wasn't in the market for a wheel, saw a post on OzB, flipped my wallet out and now i have a wheel at home if i missed out so be it i didn't need one anyway, if i get it then it's a win. thats the game we play here on OzB…is that impulse for ya?

                  • @ExtraSalt: The staff member could have been working on other more productive tasks.

                    • @mathew42: …like standing behind the counter serving the sole person in the queue because it was 3pm in the afternoon?!

        • Nah they canceled orders because they could regardless if some people returned the shifters or not. They have come to an extend that even the items you have bought and paid for are in your hands they will stop you from leaving the store until you return the items for whatever reasons they see fit.

          • @wtfnodeal: unless you are db87 i feel so bad for that person…i wonder what their result is? Hopefully HO gives them the pack after illegally forcing them to return goods after the completed transaction

        • I went to return my shifter. I signed the document, and got the return receipt (to PayPal). I left, and within 30 mins, they called, and said they can't honour the return! WTF!? They told me to give my home address, and they would ship it back to me. I said no way, and that I will call the "headquarters". OzBargain is my headquarters. What can I do to get my refund? What actions can I take? ACCC? Legal?

Edit: My tax invoice clearly itemized the items, with the shifter at $79.

  • +2

JB says my shifter is on its way delivery so it can't be canceled but they canceled my wheel set.

What the hell can I do if I only get the shifter?
Now I have to wait for the shifter delivered and then take it to the store to return it.

What a waste of time and effort. Sad.

    • +1

Next time get it for pickup and also get ready to fight, don't answer any phone call from JB

    • What the hell can I do if I only get the shifter?

Buy the wheel by itself from eBay 20% off?

  • +2

Just got an email that my wheel is going to be sent but the shifter is back ordered and will not be sent until next month? Is the dream still alive?
    Edit: anyone else?

    • +2

If my experience is anything to go by, they very well may be doing a back flip on the cancellations.

The jb I have now dealt with has now honoured my deal and will apparently be calling back the others that placed orders to honour there's also.

Part of me wonders if I might have had anything to do with that…. 🤔

      • HO are calling those who had their orders cancelled and telling them they would honour them? Are you sure about it? I have received email re my paypal refund.

        • +1

Don't hold me to it but that's what the manager at my store said he will now be doing.

          • +1

@db87: Haha I won’t. I feel sorry to hear you were stopped from leaving the store as if you stole something. I’m ok if they don’t honour my order as it is a gaming accessory something I can live without but their attitudes could have been better and policy could be more consistent instead of some managers said yes and some said no.

          • @db87: My delivery order was cancelled yesterday :(

Just in case I need leverage with the online customer service reps, which store has now chosen to honour your wheel?

(feel free to PM me if you would rather not share that here)

            • @PollyMeow: Interested to know this too as I would also like to give this a go.

        • Just to clarify, he didn't mention head office would be doing this, just that head office informed him to contact HIS STORE's click and collect orders. It might be exclusive to his store, who knows. shrugs 🤷‍♂️

There is definitely no uniformity to their actions.

  • Mine is showing as having been picked up from a store today and on it's way! was surprised as I was expecting it to be cancelled.
