          Depends how much you're saving from purchasing from FB Marketplace.

          Issue with purchasing second hand iPhone is the iCloud lock. Most being sold on the secondhand market (Gumtree, eBay, FB Marketplace) are iCloud lock, and there's no way of unlocking it.

        It’s not hard to get a iPhone XR for around 1000, I got my 128xr for only 950 on gumtree. But I don’t recommend gumtree as too many scammers

    iPhone is so loaded with intelligence tax… neg it all you want. not saying it's a bad phone, but it's hopelessly overpriced phone not to mention it's more than 2 yo.

    I recently saw the XR for $900 on eBay new and it's been $1100 +/- on OZB several times

    Not a bad deal on the 8 Plus but for me, a bargain would be <900

      XR = smaller screen and only one main camera sensor. A purist will probably take the 8+ over the XR.

        Nope, I wouldn't. The XR will be worth more in the future too as it's a new gen phone, which is important. The second hand market for iphones is what offsets the initial cost.

    I'm tempted, but by "all glass design" do they mean the back is glass too? That just means more things to break. The iPhone 4 I had before I broke the back of which was really annoying. I prefer my metal-backed iPhone 6s

    There are a lot of people saying the S10 and P30 are better devices.
    Admittedly the hardware is superior but if you’re in the Apple eco system, especially if you have iPad, Apple Watch and/or iMac, this is an appealing sale.

    I bought iPhone 8 Plus before it was out for sale and spend 959AUD LOL. This old device holds up so well.

      Would you recommend it now that you have one? Tossing up whether to get this or the XR for more longevity with updates, but XR in stores at least at $1199. or more. Actually looking at the 8 against the Xr the former looks so dated with those large bands and the home button.
