    • It's interesting that you're upgrading from a phone first sold in 2016. Seems like you've held on to it a bit longer than the standard 2 years

The S10E or Huawei P30 Pro might be the better choice based on length of ownership. I think from there it's probably preference based. If you're used to Samsung and like it then it's worth going the S10E route. Otherwise if you're keen for something new the Huawei P30 Pro seems to be a decent enough alternative. I myself got the S10 from the 30% off and my main draw to it over the S10E was the display and battery life. Been excellent so far.

I think that the Pixel 3A might not hold up in a year+ but just my thoughts

      • Thanks… so the battery of the S10 is better than the s10e?

        • It should theoretical be better. 3100mAH on the S10e vs 3400mAH on the S10 although I have my display settings on 1080p rather than the full resolution it's capable of.

    • I dont get … the P30 Pro is more than twice the price of the Pixel 3a .. so you might as well change to Pixel 3.

    • +1

I just did the same and got S10 128Gb. S10e doesn't have all the features and P30 Pro is $700 more expensive..

  • +2

I so wish we had the SD855 variant :(((((

    • SD855 is really worth it imo. If eBay has a 10% off sitewide then it's worth looking for local warehouse sellers. I bought mine with 1 year Australian warranty included when it released (s10e for $850)

I can get 7-8 hours screen on time (mostly wifi a bit of lte) (usually over 13 hours battery life), with daily use I get 10% at 8 to 9 pm from 6am get up. I'm not sure if they fixed the Exynos battery life via software yet but I heard they only got 6 hours sot at release.

      • Will keep an eye on online review if the battery issue on Exynos version is fixed.

Mostly likely it is not able to be fixed as the chipset is 8nm whilst snapdragon version is 7nm

  • Anyone seeing the s10+ 128gb available? Any chances it'll come back in stock before the deal ends?

    • +4

Seems like a lot of people aren't checking the colours and sizes properly so I will copy and paste my response again here :)

At the time of commenting, I can still see S10+ 128gb available to add to cart at $974.35, save $525.00 (Was $1,499.00).
Still available in Prism Black, Prism White and Prism Green. The 128gb just doesn't come in Ceramic Black or Ceramic White as these are reserved for the 512mb/1tb Hybrid/Dual SIM variants. The Prism colours are single SIM with only micro sd card capability.
Note - I am viewing these stock levels and prices from the Westpac Customer Offers Store (same 35% off deal).

  • S10e? Or $20 more for the S9 plus from MSY? Tough decision…

    • S9+ is dual Sim (I think), S10e is not.

  • Will there be a S10e 5G variant released in Australia?

    • +1

From all the info given, no. The 5G version is the fourth variant in the S10 range. There won't be an 'affordable' 5G model from Samsung's flagship series until next year when they release the S11 - in saying that, they might bring out something in the A series or something that is 5G compatible.

  • +1

I think accessories are also on sale, though not 35%

Can someone help me decide between the S10 and S10+??? I'm used to big phones having a Note 8 and now an 8 plus..

Only issue is I don't want to trade off a smaller screen for crappier vattery?!

Anyone else gone through same decision?

    • I would go in store and see how they feel. I chose the s10 because it fits better in my hand. I don't have to reach for the corners like i do in the S10+ but its all personal preference

      • Ok cool, how has battery life been for you? Does it feel lacking?

        • I think everyone's mileage may differ there slightly. I'm using the S10 and for me I've got 3hr 35min SoT but that said, I took it off the charger at 11:30am yesterday and I'm down to 19% right now. Imo it's held up pretty well. Other days I'll get 6+hrs SoT between 9am and 7pm so if that metric is important to you there you go.

    • I got S10+ without tested actual product on jbhifi and i regret it.
S10+ is too big for me.

i reckon test the actual product on jbhifi.
S10 and S10+ only have insignificant differences (mainly front camera and battery)

IMO convince usage is better than battery and camera.

  • So the s10e from here does not have dual sim right?

    • Yeah, only dual Sim are the 512 GB or the 1TB models

  • I just asked JB for their best price on an Incipio Dual Skin Case for the new S10e I've purchased for my father. $33 they offered me. And I gladly accepted.
Now shopping for a few screen protectors.
Hope to have scored Dad a phone for over 24months+

    • Check out Whitestone Dome glass screen protectors. Pricier than your average one but it itself ain't average at all.
There are application videos on YouTube if you buy a full kit online, otherwise you can look at the list of Australian stores that sell and install it for you. Prices may vary from place to place so shop around if you have multiple near you. Just be mindful of what case you have as they might interfere with the screen protector 's edges after application.

bit the bullet and purchased an S10 for the misses

  • Just received my order confirmation this morning after placing it on Friday night (next business day processing as usual). The email says Westpac Offers to indicate which portal I bought it from and also free express shipping. Tax Invoice is standard and 'Paypal' is mentioned as payment method, with no mention of the Westpac portal. Suitable for TRS claims with Samsung ABN included.

One interesting thing I noticed yesterday as mentioned in my comment on page 1 is that I no longer see any kind of customer deals under the Westpac Rewards & Offers tab, hence no way of accessing the Westpac Customer portal again. Link copy/paste doesn't work. There were other deals which were supposed to run for a bit longer but they have all disappeared. The Samsung deal alone is supposed to run until at least May 31 as previously written there. Not sure if they will come back again or if there is a glitch..

"You have no rewards or offers to display at this time. Please check back later. When you have a reward or offer, it will be displayed here."

    • +1

It’s back again under westpac rewards. Also, it does come with screen protector pre-installed out of the box.

      • Indeed it is now! The protector it comes with is only the thin film but it is better than nothing.

      • +1

as of 2:30PM can't be seen via Westpac anymore…hope it comes back
edit: seems to just flash in and out. Strange.

    • Update: Received a phone call this morning from Samsung Support. They just wanted to verify the organisation that I received the deal through (Westpac) as per their usual procedure.

    • Update 2: Received email confirmation my order has been shipped via Star Track Express with an IMEI number given. Tracking number was sent via SMS. ETA tomorrow.

thanks to this thread.. bought an S10+

  • 2 choice accounts but no offer…

  • Did anyone else who bought from westpac offers manage to add the purchase to their samsung store account?

  • Was anybody able to add the SAMSUNG CARE+ and if so at a discount or full price?

    • Just had a look for you - appears to be the same price as retail without a discount, $229

  • Can you claim TRS on this deal if travelling overseas for a holiday?

  • Is s10+ 128GB has dual sim?

  • Has anyone purchased the 8gb 512gb variant?

Anything that makes it better then the 128gb version?

Does it drain faster or heat up more?

    • +1

Takes four times as long for the memory to leak than the 128gb, twice as long as the 256gb

  • I am considering to TRF this phone, but for that it would be nice to know what amount does Samsung write on the invoice. Do they write the discounted amount ($780 or $880) or the original price? Asking because $900 is the limit for inbound duty free items and I am flying back alone, so I can't spread the amount across the family.

    • +1

The tax invoice states the amount you paid Samsung so in this case, the discounted price.

    • Phone depreciates the moment it is used anyway.

    • So you can claim the TRS, then walk back into the country with it as long as it is below $900 value?

      • Yes

    • They write the discounted price, as you're paying (then claiming the associated GST back) on that price.

Wouldn't be fair for them to charge you GST on the $900 if you're paying a lesser amount :). I'm sure the Government will find a way to do so in the future though… :D

  • Deal is really hard to get. Samsung website kept looping when trying to login with .edu.au account
Opened a westpac account online to get offers- nothing came up under offers.
No one at Samsung knows why the login error keeps happening.

Also OP the link you have posted is for PWC employees. Dont make the mistake of clicking through and signing up on this site like I did. You can delete account and start again tho!

    Anyone else having similar issues?
Must be an easier way to get this- it's a great deal if you can actually get to the purchase page!

    • No, worked for me - is it an adblocker or similar? Try private/incognito mode?

      • yep tried all this … different browsers. Everything. Even spoke to Samsung and they said to send email to support… cos they had no idea.

  • +1

Just got the S10e from Westpac Customer Offers.
    Thanks guys

  • Anyone have any thoughts on S10+ at 974 or try to import an onePlus7 Pro for around 1k (coming from SGS8+)

    • S10 - not really that fussed about IP68 and wireless charging on S10+, like the 3.5mm jack

    • OP7Pro - screen looks awesome, no notch, cameras maybe a bit inferior (not a deal breaker), no 3.5mm jack, ? Difficult warranty process

    • i had the same idea, that i came to realize that.

      similar performance,
      similar build quality
      similar screen technology and size
      similar camera for still shots

what s10+ has over one plus:
      aux, (very important for me)
wireless charging, (important for in car dash navigation hookup, no cables)
better video camera recorder and stabilization. (for me very important)
expandable memory (cool but not a deciding factor for me)
waterproof (cool but not a deciding factor for me)
reverse charge (cool but not a deciding factor for me)

      op7Pro over Samsung:
better OS (more updates) although Samsung one UI has really received great reviews.
higher refresh rate screen (seems smoother)
      faster finger print sensor (important)

so am i willing to give up AUX, better video stabilization and recording, wireless charging, and potentially a better battery life over a higher refresh rate screen for a device that both are the same price, the answer is no, the s10+ is still the best all rounder android flagship, you know until the note 10 comes out.

      • It just pains me that we get the exynos version which is inferior b/c 1. can't use google cam, 2. slower and worse battery life than snapdragon….

Another disadvantage/advantage is that the op7pro is HUGE. May not fit in all hands!

  • Seems to have disappeared from Westpac Offers….

    • The offer page is glitchy. It'll be back tomorrow. Happened on Sunday-Monday too. Deal isn't supposed to end until June 30.

    • same, cant find it now, it was there 2 days ago

      Its working again now

Does anyone know Australia version A70 will be Sanpdragon 675 or crappy Exynos? My experience with Exynos version S7edge and note9 all have terrible battery drain like 15%-20% for 12hr idle. Snapdragon version does about 5% similar to an iphone. Samsung Exynos also heats up more and quicker than Snapdragon, overheat easier when fastcharging under the summer sun on passenger seat while driving. No good for hot climate region.

    • Exynos for AU

    • I am getting out of touch with tech as i get older.

But some here say it doesn't make a difference and some say it is a big difference.

If the only way to get a Snapdragon is via grey import then you're really choosing a performance difference and maybe a bit cheaper over a warranty?

      • I hate battery drain and crazy hot phones. For me, Google map navigation on, phone under direct sunlight and fastcharging is very common user scenario.

  • Has anyone used the genuine galaxy s10 plus flip hard cases? Are they worth the $75 to purhcase? About to purhcase the s10 plus via education store and thinking of the case too

  • Samsung must be panicking with sales and positive reviews of the P30 and P30 pro and the release of the Oneplus 7 and all the other Chinese phones just on the horizon. If anything, we may hopefully see prices fall in the retail sector. Apple must be starting to get worried too.

    • lol apple never drops prices. their digging their own grave.

  • Please help me decide between the S10 & S10e? Mainly after a good camera, good reception, am updating from galaxy S6 which seems to have reception issues now, so basically an all round good phone that will last. Thanks

  • Hello, I also have samsung Education store. But i cannot see the 35% off. Can anyone please tell me what went wrong. is this deal still going on?

    • If you have samsung account, sign in using this link and follow the instructions
      https://www.samsung.com/au/estore/samsung-education-store/

    • +1

The offer has expired for the education store. Showing as $1200 now. The Live Chat rep mentioned the offer expired on 19/05.

      • oh ok.. bad luck this time :)

    • why dont you get the tab s5e LTE as your phone .. that one is still discounted.

  • Can anyone help me out with access? I cant post a classified atm for some reason.

  • 35% off deal is still active for Westpac customers (expiring 11:59pm June 30). More info on first page of comments. Can see that all S10e colours have sold out. All other S10 and S10+ variations still available. Same stock levels as the normal Samsung Online store.

    • So if i sign up to Westpac Choice account now, that will work?

      • I heard from someone who spoke to Westpac and that's what they said. You should confirm for yourself before opening an account though, to be sure. Not sure what the exact terms are so I can't say it will work 100% so you need to find out.

    • Oh, so is the S10e not available with this deal at all now?

      • It's available with this deal.. if it's in stock.

  • +2

Price have just gone up by $200 on all S10 models on the education store.

    • +2

Yep, doesn't seem like such a great offer anymore now.. :(
      Hopefully it'll come back soonish

    • yep thinking abt the deal for too long now I'm regret it :(

  • S10+ still a good deal.

  • Hey guys, how long did it take to ship?

    • +1

Took only 2 business days from when I placed the order (placed order Friday night, order confirmed and shipped out Monday, received Tuesday). Note that it was picked up from sender in Greenacre (metro Sydney) and delivered within metro Sydney via Star Track Express. Other areas may take longer and it depends on where the item was dispatched from too.

  • Silly me! I was busy for the last seven days and wanted to set up my new device now, to only realize I won't be able to use it for at least another week. My old device is Galaxy S5, which uses Micro SIM, and all the galaxy S devices after that use Nano SIM cards. :(

    • A sim swap at your Telstra/Optus/Vodafone store only takes minutes to do and activate. Just don't do it via customer care on the phone or online otherwise you have to wait for delivery..

      • Unfortunately I am with Lebara. Not sure if I can do that in a store. Since they're on Vodaphone network, is there a chance I can do it a Voda store?

        • +1

No, you can't get one from Vodafone stores. You can wait for the delivery or purchase a new $2 SIM card from your closest Lebara outlet (Coles, Woolworths, convenience stores, etc..). Then call customer support and tell them to 'swap the SIM.'

Got this info from their website.

          • @kaebomb:

purchase a new $2 SIM card from your closest Lebara outlet (Coles, Woolworths, convenience stores, etc..). Then call customer support and tell them to 'swap the SIM.'

Yup! I've actually just called them and the person I have spoken to told me to do just that. Thanks for the help. :D

          • @kaebomb: Wait! Aren't the newer SIMs triple punch SIMs, i.e. you can punch out the size that fits your phone? Have just downed on me. Might check the one in my old phone. Fingers crossed I might not even need to get another one.

  • Damn it I missed it. think abt bite the deal for too long. S10 and S10 plus ranges are not 35% off anymore :(

    • They are also still 35% off until 11:59pm, June 30 for Westpac customers with eligible Choice accounts via the app or banking portal, as well as EPP members. The only model sold out online is the S10e in all colours. All S10 and S10+ models and variants still available to order. The Education store is where the large discount has ended.

  • Just saved $780 bucks by sitting on my ass! Total win … except not actually because no phone. Damn!
