  • as much as i liked the original version of this, the HD version is just meh, it's probably like those snes retro consoles.

    • agreed. not an AAA game but it is nostalgic, cheap, requires low specs and easy to play with friends. There's a good playerbase and also a couple of HD only expansions which you can try grab when they go on sale.

Although, their official website seems to be looking a little barren.

    • HD is a bit of a stretch, the water was updated slightly and it's made for widescreens that's about it. Great game and great price but not an HD remake.

  • age of empires online hd please :(

  • Are custom maps active online?

  • At this price, I'd definitely recommend it. Great value for money, hours of fun with friends or playing through the campaigns solo. The game has a tendency to drop multiplayer games online though (seemingly random at times), especially when you're playing with high-ping players. At just over $5 though, can't really go wrong with a classic game like this.

  • PM me if you want help getting good.

  • Do I have to pay a monthly subscription to Humble bundle to buy this? I went through the checkout but did not see anything about a monthly subscription, but I'm afraid they will start charging a monthly amount after I buy this

  • legit just smashed out a few hours of this. Elephants and paladins best combo

  • easily a top 5 RTS of all time.

it's a shame this isn't as big an update as StarCraft Remastered, but it's still good.

    • What would you say are the top few rts games of all time?

      • in no particular order: Age of Empires II, StarCraft, Company of Heroes, Total Annihilation make up the top 4 for me, by miles.

A Command & Conquer game could probably take the 5th spot, but personally I've never been a fan - for me it would be one of WarCraft III, StarCraft II, or Dawn of War.

  • mandatum?

  • The official definition version is coming soon?

  • I had play this game over and over and now I'm pretty sick of it. But the price is bargain for those who haven't play it before.

  • Went to pick it up but looks like its sold out, for now!

ATTENTION! We have run out of Steam keys for Age of Empires II: HD Edition, but more are on their way! As soon as we receive more Steam keys, we will add them to your download page. Sorry about the delay!

  • i still play this. constantly uninstall and install as so addictive. each game costs 45mins of my life…..

  • Not on sale much? This game goes on sale all the time and for cheaper.

    • I have stated that this is not the all-time lowest price for this game. However, the only price on Ozbargain that was cheaper was a pricing error. According to ITAD the lowest price was $4.00 AUD from Amazon and that had US buying restrictions and was in 2016.
So, could you please give us a few examples of the many sales at cheaper prices you are referring to as I could not find any when I looked after reading your comment.
Keep in mind we are talking official key sellers, so no G2A, no CDKeys, no Gamivo etc.

Of course, the other question I have is: working on the assumption you are right and the game is on sale for $2 AUD or so very often and you find those deals, why are you not posting them for us?

  • I wonder if they'll HD Age of Mythology.
    That was pretty sick.
