prices for the samsung often drop to that price range without the 20% …

  •

Harvey Norman is running a special 20% off storewide, I think only few brands excluded.

I have the 2TB USB3.0 one, and I've only just got it back after RMA (i used it for 2 weeks, and it took 2 months to replace). Maybe you should question reliability.

^ yeh same bit weary of Samsung HD lately, got mine for $94 in January at Kambos USB 2.0, crashed during a backup, so i ran HDSentinal and it said it had 18% Health and 156 bad sectors on disk surface. Might have to refund now :(

Reliability aside (mine's been fine), it is a f&(!@& annoying drive to use.

The ridiculous 'green' power saving crap stops the drive from spinning within 5-10 mins of no use and THE WORST PART is that it takes fricking 10 seconds for the damn thing to spin back up again! in the 10 seconds, widnows explorer will freeze while it waits for the drive!

I would recommend spending another 10-15 bucks for something better.

And yes i've tried no sleep HD, but that is unreliable to say the least.

Wow, everyone has this on sale which possibly may not be a good sign. I just got an email from CatchOfTheDay for a similar price (before shipping). http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?products_...

The Station and Story Samsung type are completely different designs. FYI.

But I brought a Story when HN had them at $99 special. It's been on 24/7 since and I've had no issues with it.
