  • Super deal. Best I have seen for iTunes. Thanks

    • You missed the 50% Big W deal

      • -1

But it was too difficult to get in on the Big W deal, this one is a better deal as its more obtainable, you may also be able to purchase more in the HN deal than you could the Big W one.

        • Huh? I bought as many as I liked. What restrictions are you talking about?

        • -1

You could buy as many as you liked. Bla bla crap.

        • -1

That is probably why the Big W deal got sold out so fast. People are buying more than they need nowadays.

        • +4

Gerry Harvey bought the entire Big W stock and is selling them out now

    • -2

How has this deal got 75+ votes?!?!

IT'S NOT VALID! Sale excludes Apple products.

      • Read the full thread. Its still valid at a very limited HN stores.

        • Read title…. it says "Harvey Norman", not "very limited Harvey Norman stores".

Over 200 Harvey Norman stores and it's been reported to work in like 4 of them, and even then you have to push.

        • :) worked for quite some, not for all, from what I knew, it was valid at all HN. Sorry for any inconvenience.

  • Thanks =] But stop linking to lasoo and change it to HN.

    • cant find the offer on HN site. Tried changing it with a generic one on HN, but cant update it any longer.

p.s. Office works did not price match the deal, even refused at 2 $30 cards for $40 :(

      • Try Dick Smith they have a price beat policy (they will remove 10% of the difference off the lower price, which means these will be $32 - (0.1*$60) = $29.20!!!

        • I asked Dick Smith about this 'price beat policy' recently & they said it wasn't true. Where did you get this info? I can't find it on their website.

        • I got it from the manager of the store I went to.
I found out when last year someone managed to pricematch OW's price on a ipod touch 32GB at DS and got it for 10% less at around $300. When I went in to get the same deal, the manager explained that the operator in the other store did the price match wrong and it was meant to be 10% off the difference and not the lower price.

          edit:
Just checked their website, looks like DS has done the shifty and changed it to a price match policy now…. where they will now only match the price…..

  • wow!

    Really good value!

  • What do you buy using the itunes card? I've always only downloaded free apps from itunes, never paying for any as I think it's not worth it.

    • get some music, or some apps. I use them for books and some study material.

    • A lot of great apps, Infinity Blade, iMovie, Pinball, elements etc, some high priced apps are well worth it.

There are also Movies, Music, Mac apps, TV Shows.

    • cheapest way to purchase navigation apps

    • Get a few of the $1.19 games from the 'top 10' list, they're well worth buying and perfect for killing a few mins on public transport, in the office, in the loo etc. Even if you only get a few hours entertainment value from each (though I personally get TONNES more), its still well worth the price if you compare it to the $15 you go to see a two hour movie, or just about any other paid entertainment.

  • hmm, might get a few. Have never bought them before because I use my CC.
Do iTunes cards have an expiry date?

    • nop, no expiry that I am aware of once you add them to your account

      • +4

The cards expire two years from date of purchase
Once the credit is in your account they expire 2 years from last use
        (IIRC)

The website says that the 20% excludes apple

    • +2

That's what they told me when I tried at Harvey Norman Woodville. No deal.

  • +6

Can you post the invoice? HN at hoppers crossing won't do it unless I show proof of invoice. Will provide email address if required. Cheers!

  • Beside this is apple product, I thought 20%off only applies to ticket price?

  • HN Broadmeadows not allowing this, cos its 20% off normal in store ticketed prices. Stupid HN

    • +1

Typical HN, no consistency, and staff don't even understand their own specials.

  • -3

    Waste of money

  • +3

i went to the cairns store, and was told no because of the 20% off excludes apple. the 2x $30 cards for $40 which still applies. officeworks should price match that deal which means you can still get 5% off.

  • HN Mackay also wont do the extra 20% off.

  • +3

    HN Erina = No go

    • thanks for saving me a trip. i can stay in my pyjamas now…

    • +1

      thankyou

  • Castle hill won't do it either :(

  • +3

Now can someone please close this thread? OP was just lucky, however this is not a deal

  • HN Broadway does not do the 20%, but when enquring was advised that there was an extra 20% by a different staff member who was just guessing.

  • +3

    Not valid at Nunawading.

  • +3

I have no idea why the OP got this deal but it specifically states "Excludes Apple" so there's no reason why it should work. Worth a try but unlikely

  • +1

There really should be a note in the description that includes something along the lines of "your chances of getting it are slim"

  • +2

NO go @ HN Hobart, the 20% is very specific in that it excludes Apple. Anyways unless there is a receipt it never happened! :)

    • +1

Neg revoked now with the posting of the receipt. I still think getting this deal will be very much the exception at other stores rather than the rule.

  • +2

what is going on is this deal legit or what?

  • +2

NO go @ HN Hobart, the 20% is very specific in that it excludes Apple. Anyways unless there is a receipt it never happened!

  • +5

Posting reciept in 30 min. Still valid there. Apparently the iTunes cards are not classified as an accessory and qualify. Atleast that's what the manager the sales guys asked for.

    • nice, thanks

    • I've rung Chadstone, Knox and Dandenong on the phone and they said they would honour this.

  • +1

I look at itunes and I ask myself, what cd?

  • +1

Worked for me, I got 4 of them at Chadstone store as well. Good deal :)

    • great!

  • Waiting for the receipt! The rural stores (moe and traralgon) refuse to apply another 20% off the $40. Told them i got a receipt and they said they would call chadstone store and gimme a ring back!

  • +7
    • Awesome, driving down now!

      • good luck, seems like a hit or miss deal :( ..

        • +5

          I GOT IT MATCHED!

Grabbed a pair of the cards from Traralgon Harvey Norman. The manager wasn't too happy either. Another staff walked by and insisted the promo doesn't apply to the iTunes cards but the manager let it slip and grunted, "Trust me Steve, i called Chadstone HN and we have to do it, not i want to…"

        • great!!!!

    • +5

      EEEWWWW Monster Beats….
      Haha Thanks for the upload

    • wow you got discount on ipad accessories too?
they must be really relaxed on the no apple thing

      • They probably don't realise that they are Apple products, the staff probably think that by Apple they mean computers and iPads and iPods.

        • Thats what I was told, but they actually checked it in their system first..

    • wow u bought a lot of shits

      • lol.. just stuff i need to buy and take for a friend.

  • Auburn does not honour this offer

    • +1

Damn, was planning to go. Thanks though you saved me the trip

    • saved me a trip as well, any store in sydney honors this one?

      • you may need to go down there and ask ? good luck

  • +1

    no dice, Watergardens.

  • +1

    no go no apple

  • +2

    Refused at Gordon.
    Refused at Chatswood.
    Refused at North Ryde.

    • +3

heh thought that said "Refused at North Pole" >.<

      • +6

yeah santa said does not apply to apple products..

    • Typical Sydney :(

  • No problems… got a few for myself…

Some guy held held the registers by buying 20 of them…

Poor cashier had to activate each one of them individually

    • you went to chadstone as well?

      • Of course - Chadstone it was…

  • No luck at HN Oxley in Brisbane, cashier said only one discount applies.

  • Doesn't work at HN Moorabbin

  • If anyone is gonna make a trip down to a working store, I'd love to buy one for $16 off you :)

    • I'll rather flag my other piece off eBay in 5 days…

  • Frankston: no
Chadstone: still yes, but a limit of 4
    Dandenong: no
Dick Smith: will match the 2 $30 for $40 only

  • If you can go to Chadstone.. just pick up 2 $30 iTunes card or 4 $30 iTunes card. There were still lots when I left.
If not, go to OfficeWorks, ask for a price match - I did that, the manager agreed - was quite easy actually. But then again, I wasn't too fuss about it - I was at Chadstone anyway.

Big thanks to OfficeWorks and even bigger thanks to Harvey Norman Chadstone.
Thank you very much OP as well.
By the way, today is the last day you can do this.

    • At chadstone.. the Cards seem sold out at the iPod accessories area. Was quite disappointed when I realised they could have it in the place where they keep the iPhones and bingo, still a few left.

      I grabbed 4.

Once I get GST off and get tax deduction as its a business expense, I have 120$ worth of iTunes value.. for 40$

ripper value, thanks OP for posting this..

      • How the Australian Government going to get to a budget surplus I don't know…
        Lol good job mate (Y).

    • I tried office works and they gave me some BS about not price matching sale prices. only regular prices.

Tried JB, and they said they can't change the price of gift cards in the system, but I can get one for $30 and $14 off a $20+ item.

Tried kmart, they called HN chadstone and were told there are no sales on iTunes cards (not even the 2x$30 for $40!)

  • I can report that I successfully got the Bundaberg Harvey Norman to price match… I got 6x$30 cards for $96… Thanks so much to the OP this will make buying iOS apps, and Mac apps much cheaper :D

  • i can say harvey norman maryborough was successful. i asked the guy there and he said only one discount then i said that other harvey normans are doing it too then he put it through.

  • No go at Knox.

  • +2

Big plus to Chadstone HN and many thanks to OP. Although they had a limit of 4 per transaction they did allow you to rejoin the line to purchase more. I went around midday and most of the people in both lines were lining up to purchase itunes cards. They guy behind me even had OP's receipt loaded on his iphone in case he had to argue the point.

      Ozbargainer!!!

      • +2

You guys bought out the store! They had a signboard up at 4pm saying that they had exceeded their daily limit of iTunes sales. :P

        • haha lol

at least these people got it!!!

  • Thanks to the reciept, got it price matched at Harvey Norman Frankston. Very happy here, we bought 8.

  • who does discounted itunes cards that you can buy online ?

not worth going shopping just for these
