UPDATE: Many users are reporting cancelled orders due to a pricing error

Amazon have now started emailing to advise of the cancellation and are giving $30 vouchers per order. You can check your coupons here. For the record my order of 3 was cancelled and I received the $30 gift voucher too. The drives would have been great but I'm also pretty happy with this compensation. Congratulations to anyone who gets their order delivered.

Insane price for the 10TB WD My Book external hard drive. Limit to 3 per customer, and remember to use cashback. I grabbed 3 for $389.52 + Free Delivery with Prime.

Features

Auto backup with included WD Backup software and Time Machine compatibility
Password protection with hardware encryption
Trusted storage built with WD reliability
USB 3.0 port; USB 2.0 compatible
3-year manufacturer's limited warranty

Note on prices above $400

Some people are seeing prices over $400 and the item being listed by a different seller. This could be due to a variety of reasons such as cookies, account preferences or perhaps they are not logged in. You can append ?smid=A4XRJ8S0WXSO0 to the URL or by using the "Other Sellers on Amazon" widget to choose Amazon US as the seller.

    • It seems like some orders were fulfilled before Amazon Hodor'd the rest.

      • mine says June 4 delivery
Current status is "Package has left the carrier facility"
        Does that mean I'm good?

        • ¯_(ツ)_/¯ - but sounds like it!

        • Not quite, some people think Amazon could still have the local courier intercepts the package and sends it back to Amazon.
We only have people confirming orders delivered when they had them sent to a US address. I don't think we have any confirmed AU order delivered yet. Hope you are one of the lucky ones (fingers crossed).

  • just got canceled

  • +13

Dear god the entitlement of some people.

Harvey Norman JB pricing error : No apology, no gift card, payment not refunded for a week or more

$30 is going above and beyond.

  • Ordered two at 1754, tracking has moved on to

"Exported i-Parcel and in transit to country of destination."

So i guess if you ordered early, woohoo, if not, free money, woohoo!

    • +1

In the SD card deal, the packages hit the country then Amazon was able to have it returned back to them from the carrier - so don't count your luck. That was with i-Parcel also.

      • 🤞🏼🤞🏼

      • Yes 100%, i had my 5/9 orders arrived AU, as per the tracking, then held at “processing” somewhere at Melb,,, then in two days time “Returned to the sender”.. Had lots if hope when they landed..

    • Ordered 1730. 3 orders were canceled.

  • +2

Happy with $30 voucher. Nicely done Amazon 👍

  • I received the voucher. But, how I can use it? It shows the gift voucher in my Mobile app, but does not show and apply it when purchasing via my computer. What should I do?

    • +2

After adding the item to cart and you are about to pay, it shows part taken from your credit card and below $30 coupon that is automatically applied.

If it does not show for that item, try another item. The coupon stated it works on an eligible item/purchase, what ever that means.

      • Thanks. Working now. Maybe I was not signed in correctly :D

        • +1

It is good I did the purchase two times… having $60 vouchers… Also did it for my wife :D $120 free stuff in total :D

          • +1

@mkowarkski: They really pamper us Aussies :D

I didn't want to risk having so many drives at home nor was I looking to resell, would have been too much hassle for me. My 4TB 2.5" drive is only half full after 2 years of use :D

  • +2

Just got $30 coupon from Amazon. I was expecting either a cheap item or $10 coupon.

This made my day, immediately bought Red Dead Redemption II for Xbox for $25 after the coupon :P

  • Mine cancelled .. damn it….$30 credit same as everyone else

  • Cancelled, $30 voucher….can't really complain…$30 free money for 1 min order creation….

  • I got one, money hasn't left my account yet but fingers crossed it goes through. Such a good deal! Question for the technologically minded… do I need a transformer to run this off power is Australia?

    • Actually, scratch that it just got cancelled. But 30 dollar gift card :)

    • +2

do I need a transformer to run this off power is Australia?

No, it comes with an universal (100~240V) power adaptor.

      • Thanks for the reply! Good to know in the future.

        • +1

But you still need an US to AU socket adaptor.

  • So out of curiosity how many people actually got their order to be shipped or received?

  • +1

finally got a shipping notification for mine

    • +1

Nah, Amazon are just trolling you :P

      • probably ;)

  • +1

    2 ordered, 2 cancellations.

$60 credit at least soothes the pain.

  • +1

What should I get with the $30 coupon that I got? I'm really not sure haha

    • +3

Perhaps I can tempt you with a year's supply of tissues or toilet paper?

      • The 45 pack lasted me around six months.

That being said I used it between two houses for around two weeks.

  • Received a shipping notification that it's on the way due to arrive 1st June.

My buy of the year (Provided nothing changes?)

Curious but did you pay for express and what time did you order?

      • +1

Sorry natalie, I don't think those are hard drives…

          • +4

@spackbace: Those are hard and it drives something else high….. So she calls it hard drives ..

          • +2

@spackbace: :O now someone tells me

    • Hot damn! How early on in the deal did you order?

    • -4

Can you post you tracking on UPS please? I’m from Brisbane and want to get a more accurate estimate of the shipping steps.

      • +4

It leaves Amazon, iparcel until it hits Australian customs, handed to startrak express, delivered to you

Same as every Amazon delivery, and just like all deliveries, the more times you check the tracking the longer it takes to arrive.

      • umm i'm not posting my tracking number. mine was only tracking on the amazon page for a few days then overnight on Fastway from sydney. im sure if yours says shipped its coming

      • +1

Good luck. As long as it has not been cancelled, there's still a chance.

        • Hi Guyz…Mine is stuffed. Order cancelled and now got an mail for $20 voucher. Disappointed by losing this deal.

      • I'm in the same boat. Not cancelled, not charged yet, no emails but order just says "Arriving Jun 10 - Jun 19". See what happens.

      • How did you do it?????

  • Mine is now in Sydney with AusPost. :O

    • +1

Yep mine got to Perth airport today!

      • What time did u placed your order?
I was one of the unlucky ones :(

  • +2

Mine arrived this morning. For those wondering how the tracking progresses, I've posted screenshots of mine over at
    https://imgur.com/a/NW2TXx4

One thing to note is that mine came with unswitchable American plugs on the universal voltage/frequency adapters - see the pictures at the imgur post above. If yours are the same you have two options:
    1) buy a US/Australia adapter for each one or
    2) the output of the supplied adapters is 12V 1.5A +tip, the same as every other external 3.5" HDD adapter I've got in my tub of assorted plug packs. As such you may draw your own conclusions here.

I've chosen option no. 2 and used identical output Australian plugged adapters, what you choose to do is entirely up to you, but if you don't use the supplied adaptors you do so entirely at your own risk.

    • Same here - a very happy new owner of 30TB of disk space after sale of the century!
Mine arrived with US only power adapters (they're however rated 100-240V 50/60Hz). I just plugged them into universal power strip. Work beautifully.

    • +1

One thing to note is that mine came with unswitchable American plugs on the universal voltage/frequency adapters.
Buy a US/Australia adapter for each one or

Contact WD and tell them the serial numbers and that Amazon sent US plugs, they should send you an AU plug free

    • +5

You may consider this option, that is, to go to their official AU/NZ support page, create an account, register your product and raise a ticket to ask them to send you an AU adaptor. This is free of charge.

  • Will WD send out plug adaptors for this ? Or were they only sending out adaptors if the transformers were incompatible ?

    • They should send them out. No harm in asking.

    • Yes they will. Got them to send out 3 for me as I bought one at the 250ish special then 2 at this price.

Not sure why I did seeing as I've already shucked them, but hey, if they're giving them away, I want them. 😂😂😂

  • Thanks to this deal I just grabbed some Molex-Sata cables from a local seller, got 2 cables for $1 shipped. Can get cheaper but I wanted it asap lol still cheaper than Jaycar :)

Just what you need if shucking the drive

  • +2

Arrived in Perth. Ordered 5 min after first post, 'shipped' 8 hours after that. Original delivery was 1st June.

    • Congrats!

    • Grande capacity!

      • +1

Very Happy yet ever so slightly annoyed as I need 1 more to get my NAS set up. Bought 1 in the past sale when $250 was a bargain, got these two thinking that the limit was two drives like the previous sale and didn't want to risk getting cancelled even more… Now I'm wondering where or when the next deal on these drives will pop up… Think Amazon is going to discount them again any time soon?

        • Can't you add it later and expand the raid to include the new drive then?

          • +1

@So lo: I have a 4 bay NAS and I figured / aimed to do a raid 10 if I was getting big drives (and also improved redundancy for using non NAS drives). the minimum for a RAID 10 is a mirrored pair or 4 drives.

  • Arrived! (Next to no airbag/cushioning in packages. Not complaining.) New PC build wasn't planned for the immediate future / NAS project on ice at the moment - any "Icy Box" brand internal drive enclosure should be suitable for these finicky power connector shuckable drives… (right?)

Converting 5.25" bays to horizontal or side orientated hot-swappable 3.5" SATA bays.

    IB-543SSK : 2x 5.25" bays for 3 drives from 2 molex. 1x Fan 60x60x10 mm (own this +)
    IB-544SSK : 3x 5.25" bays for 4 drives from 2 molex. 1x Fan 70x70x15 mm (best value)
    IB-545SSK : 3x 5.25" bays for 5 drives from 2 molex? 2x Fan 60x60x10 mm (two noisy?)

    SATA (data) cables included!

No first-hand experience with next model & other models with SATA power port option?

    IB-555SSK : 3x 5.25" bays for 5 drives from 3 molex? 1x Fan 80x80x25 mm (Detachable)

  • Here is mine.
Should've ordered one more for my NAS box but missed the chance to place an another order :( let's hope another deal like this pop up soon.

  • Picked mine up from the PO today :)

  • Arrived today!
