$1 large fries.. why would someone buy any other size?

      • +5

Give the leftovers to someone else? Why would you pay a premium for less food…

        • -5

          germs

          • -1

@Jollystacker: What??? You do understand what a chip is right? Literally the only cases what you're saying makes sense is if you live by yourself/ everyone in your household dislikes mcdonalds. If you dont want to eat a large fries, you probably shouldnt be buying mcdonalds in the first place. Go for a healthy alternative, there are many.

      • +6

I know you got bashed but i agree. I always feel terrible throwing any food out so tend to eat it all so i can see why someone might buy a smaller size. Also the idea of "just give it to someone else" is clearly not always practical so im kinda surprised u got downvoted to oblivion for making a reasonable point.

        • -2

hahah i was semi joking but realised it actually did make sense, others did not see it that way xdd

        • Half the times McChips are soggy oily worms anyway

    • -3

Because McDonald’s fries suck! I have tried 3 outlets in my region post code 3023 and I won’t even prefer to get these for free. Always soggy and not crispy

P.S: I am all geared up for negs but won’t give up :)

      • +6

You realise you can get them fresh… right? Just ask. I'm presuming you got fries that have been left out for too long, it's just what happens with suburban stores during offpeak. I work at one of the city stores and always serve up hot fries.

        • +1

The good quality of any restaurant or fast food joint is that they will replace your defective product without asking any questions. The best joints on contrary will not even give you a chance to get into that situation. Please give a first hand try at
          Caroline Springs Boulevard
          Delahey
          Sunshine

And decide for yourself and feel free to reimburse at my expense. The lack of consistency may be understandable for a local chain but doesn’t suit the like of a global chain like Mecca’s.

          • +2

            @NeverMissABargain:

The good quality of any restaurant or fast food joint is that they will replace your defective product without asking any questions

            Who says they won't?

Have you asked the store to replace them with fresh fries or are you just complaining to ozbargain?

If you only complain here how will the store know you are unsatisfied?

            • +4

@spaceflight: Did I say they didn’t replace? What is the point of asking for replacement every time? I don’t want to be paying even a cent where you are served below standards food and are only considered when asked.

Edit: if $3 product is being served as $1 I would still want it to be as good as earlier. Doesn’t imply it should be 66.66% stale!

              • +4

@NeverMissABargain: No what I meant is, ask them during the order! You'll be waiting three minutes if you're not so happy with the lukewarm fries sitting out there.

They won't reject your request to get them fresh.

          • @NeverMissABargain: Keep in mind each location is owned by a franchisee who may be squeezing pennies. The fries are meant to be dumped after 7 minutes in the warmer (or they were, when I worked there a dog's age ago), but cheap-ass franchisees and lazy employees can ruin a lot of things.

      • +4

Yep, bring back the days when they were cooked in tallow and not vegetable oil.

    • +2

I don’t buy combos anyway. If I ever do fast food I usually just buy the burger. I’m not that interested in a side of chips and soft drink. I do like the occasional $1 frozen coke though.

    • +1

If you have small children and you want/need to buy them some chips buy you know its unhealthy or they can't eat too much cos too young and you don't want to show your children that you throw food out for not reason. E.g. like if they did something well and you want to reward them and they choose chips as the reward.

Also chips is a shack and should be a meal. So havnt a small or medium might be enough to satisfy the urge so you save in some calories if you are health conscious (but not enough to completely not eat junk food once a while) like if its your weekly treat or something.

Also if someone is counting calories and a large puts them over so they get a smaller size since they don't want to throw food away.

Or some people like the chips but feel sick if they consume items with too much fried/oily. So a smaller size works better.

      • lmfao no one is going to be counting calories and eating maccas…
I mean I've tried but you end up far far blowing your budget with any form of maccas, large fries is a little under 400cal

      • Just say "daddy needs to eat some too!" and proceed to eat half the chips.

    • +2

Pretty sure the question is rhetorical, guys.

  • +15

You had me at the shake, even though I turn into a weapon of ass destruction after!

    • +17

Working at KFC with the $2 large chips special before we updated the system to include regular for $2 instead of $2.95 so many people still purchased regular and it made me die a little (a lot)

      • well, sometimes you just don't want to waste food. most of us know our limits, or artificially limit ourselves by snack sizes.

        • +1

hmm wonder how on earth I triggered beefcake :P

          • +1

@Jack D Price: I heard somewhere before some Japanese have a rule to be only 60% full. Usually I eat till food comas but now have been losing weight (not that I want to) and don't feel so bogged down

22/5 - 15/10 $1.50 Pies (Apple Pie, Raspberry Custard Pie)

I've been missing the custard pies so much I resorted to trying to make my own, BUT raspberry custard pie? Any gym membership deals to go with?

  • +2

Referring to the KFC 9 for 9.95 Deal… After using the feedback to get chips from KFC.
More fries from maccas at $1!!!

  • +4

.. Why would anyone buy an expensive large value meal with a shake when they can get a $2 shake, $1 fries and a bunch of $1 hamburgers and have the same thing (sans lettuce/tomato etc.) for less than half the cost??

    • +4

Can combine $2 shake and $1 hamburgers but not the fries. Both shake and hamburger ends 18/6 whereas the $1 large fries promotion starts on the 19th.

    • Hamburgers don't taste as good as quarter pounders and big macs, also the compartive cost of macdonalds is cheaper than any other options. And people are ignorant of all the choices, most macdonalds don't openly advertsise these value options as much as other chocies.

  • +1

I think I have a new dream, open up a gym next to a Maccas :)

    • Running back and forth to front counter to get more food is a good idea, complimentary gym - but with opposite side effects :)

    • +1

Macca's Langwarrin in VIC besides a Jetts Fitness

That could be your dream investment

    • +1

The two businesses will create a need for each other. I like it.

  • we don't need the app for this? just walk in and purchase?

    • +16

Yup. On the LCM so app is not required. Good thing for me because I can actually get 20% off these prices as a staff member. $0.80 fries here I come!

      • Do you still get 50% off when you are working?

      • Is it still 20% if u go other Maccas? Some sort for worker's card?

        • +1

All stores 20% off. 50% off before and after a shift at your store.

          • @nxllson: 50% off is amazing… are you personally participating in Monopoly? Any big winz

  • +7

bring back the $5 mc feast meal …..guess we have the double beef n bacon meal but does lack vegetables which the mc feast had.

i just want a feed at lunch times for $5-$6 ….. no complex bundling no holding up the orders behind me.

    • +2

Miss the MC feast meal. Such good value and actually tastes good. The double beef n bacon on the other hand is terrible.

      • Had one yesterday, wasnt full but felt so sick i didnt wanna eat anymore. Lol was a odd experience.

  • +10

$1 Hamburger does finish on the 18th of June 2019.

    NOOOOOOOOOO

  • Loose Change

Can we use credit card and notes or does it need to be loose change?

    • You made me laugh. "Loose change" is just marketing. You can still pay in whatever you want.

      • +2

        You made me laugh

        :)

You can still pay in whatever you want.

        Even words of wisdom?

        • they'll be nice enough to make sure you get the same currency "words of wisdom" so would send you to court

  • +4

Ah shit, here we go again

  • +8

$2 Large shake should be a permanent price.

    • +3

The last shake I had at McDonald's was disgusting. I don't know what they possibly did with it but it's put me off.
$2.95 for a Domino's thickshake from 3-5pm is much better value.

      • Maccas shake I had was very icey.
        More like blended

  • +7

Yayy fast food is getting cheap again. Bring on the competition.

  • +2

Can we have the mcrib back please?

    • +1

      Wasn't it just Here?

    • +1

I'm not a fan of the McRib. Possibly one of the worst I've ever tasted. It tasted very fake. Essentially a roll stuffed with strips of meat and weird tasting sauce. Not my cup of tea but to each his own!

Everything else, I'm totally fine with!!

  • +6

Buy a large but really get a medium because they never fill it anyway!

    • -1

it's only a dollar, not complaining xD

      • +2

Happens in general. Whats the point of ordering a large meal if your just going to get the same as a medium?

        • Because the medium is really just a small but not in the paper bag due to the same way they fill it.

        • This is where KFC does it better, they sometimes load still overflow then just close the top with chips peeking out

  • +2

    Pies should be $1

    • +1

agreed, they are so small now its hardly even worth that much, cept the hot caramel pie, they were so delish i would pay $5 for one

  • +3

$1 large fries will be amazing!!!

    19/6 - 16/7

    Oh :(

  • +2

Not happy with the current political climate. Large Milkshake only $2!!!!

  • Thanks OP

  • +4

I swear the shakes used to be good. Now they are disgusting.

    • +2

Glad it's not just me who thought/thinks that!

  • +2

I can't seem to order the $2 lrge Thiccccshake

    • i think its in store and not on the app, going there now and will confirm

      • Was in Store last night, and didnt see any changes to the loose change menu?
        https://mcdonalds.com.au/menu/loose-change-menu

        • its available in store only, when you go to checkout it will show the discounted price

          • @geegee2u: It's also on the app. Just go to preferred shake flavour and change size to large before adding to order.

If it doesn't show up as $2 then check if your app is up-to-date.

  • +1

Just went to a store one the hume from canberra to sydney. Manager flat out told me that these were not valid. Weird. Didnt get any of my business.

  • yeah i was told the fries arent $1 at keysborough

    • +6

Because the deal for the large fries has not commenced.

  • -1

PSA: the raspberry custard pie is gross, stick with apple. It's just pink gelatinous goo and gluggy custard, no actual pieces of fruit.

  • $1 Hamburger is still available and the large fries are still standard price in WA

    • +3

those two statements will be invalidated tomorrow

      • -1

A formal rebuke like that requires a capital letter and a full stop ;-)

        All hail $1 large fries.

      • Oops, I thought yesterday was the 19th
