Hi all, I've created two new systems we've not done before - GPU-less Ryzen 5 2600 and Ryzen 7 2700, for anyone with GPUs. Note that these will not output a display out of the box. These also do not have Windows 10 pre-installed; they will boot to a prompt for an OS. We'll build and turn them on to ensure they function.

Ryzen 5 2600 / A320M / 8GB DDR4 / 120GB SSD / 550W PSU: $479 with discount code
https://techfast.com.au/collections/amd-systems/products/amd…
Code: R52600EOFYS

Ryzen 7 2700 / A320M / 8GB DDR4 / 120GB SSD / 550W PSU: $599 with discount code
https://techfast.com.au/collections/amd-systems/products/amd…
Code: R72700EOFYS

I've also had a few questions about 1660 Ti and 2080 Ti deals. These are both upgrades on the following deals - select that card upgrade and apply the discount code to score a deal in these systems/deals:

2080/2080 Ti systems:

Spec: Ryzen 5 2600 / RTX 2080 8GB / 8GB DDR4 / 120GB SSD / 750W PSU / A320M: $1299 after discount code
R5 / 2080 Ti: $2098 after discount code
R7 / 2080 Ti: $2308 after discount code

$200 Discount code: R52080EOFYS-S1

Spec: Core i7 8700 / RTX 2080 8GB / H310M / 8GB DDR4 / 120GB SSD / 750W PSU / Leaper Pro RGB Case: $1649 with $350 coupon code
i7 / 2080 Ti: $2448
Link: https://techfast.com.au/collections/intel-systems/products/i…
$350 Discount Code: i72080EOFYS

1660/1660 Ti system:

R5 2600 / GTX 1660 PC: $749 after discount code
R5 / 1660 Ti: $848
R7 / 1660 Ti: $1058**

$200 Discount Code: R51660EOFYS

Hope that makes sense.

With the announcement of 3000 series. Trying to get rid of 2000 as soon as possible? Hehexd

    • Yeah the 777 is a pretty clever too. 7nm architechture, 7th of July.

  • +4

Which 2080ti's are you planning on using for these builds. (not which could be used)

    • +7

      The cheapest

    • +1

would also want to know this - is it some old founders edition or custom but cheap (eg. Inno3d/galax/etc)

  • +2

Give me some sweet Ryzen 3 builds :)

  • Wow. Wish I had of waited for this sale

  • +1

    Just one more week… Hahahahaha

  • +3

Ryzen 5 2600 / RTX 2080 on eBay was price jacked this afternoon, otherwise it was $1244 for eBay plus.

    • It will probably change again tomorrow. That wasn't related to the new eBay deal which I wasn't aware of at the time.

  • Will you guys ever have afterpay?

    • +1

Doubtful as it would impact on their bottom line I think - unfortunately.

      • After pay is 4-6%
        Zip pay is 2-4%

Credit cards cost less to accept and you get about the same amount of time to pay

        • Could be that extra 2%.

And fair point about the CC I guess.

        • I believe Splitit would be more appropriate for Techfast without hurting too much

          • @omgilia:

            without hurting too much

The fee is still higher than a credit card and Techfast is not paid upfront.

Splitit pays the merchant in installments that match the customer installments.

This means the merchant is giving interest free loans.

As you don't install OS on this one, does that mean you can remove SSD for discount?

    • +3

Yep I can make it optional. Give me 30 mins.

      • +1

Actually no I can't, sorry, it mucks up the product price and this deal page and all sorts.

  • how come the difference between the GPU-less is $120 and when the same graphics card is added to both systems the difference becomes $210?

    • "It is recommended that reps respond to comments and reasonable enquiries about their deal, product or service. To assist with this, reps are automatically subscribed their deal posts."

      • +1

Think about ordering value meal vs ordering each item separately in Mcdonalds.

    • Not sure mate. It might be running of different products in the back end. These GPU less systems are one offs.

  • Interesting. I have a 2070 - which system would be more efficient?

  • -1

luketechfast , could you possibly do:

    2600 / RTX 2060 / 16GB 3000+mz Ram / B350 ITX

No Case / No PSU / No SSD / No OS?? :D

    • +10

      No can do amigo

  • +1

Hi Luke, no love for 2060 or 2070 yet? Thanks mate

  • The R5/1660ti build was $737 before https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/455316

    Why the price difference?

    • Dollar exchange and eBay isn't sponsoring anymore, supposedly.

We used to get a rx580 with r5 for 600 bucks build.

      • +1

Based on my calcs, the R5/1660ti build before was $819 before ebay discounts. It is now $1048 before discount. An increase of $230. Surely the dollar exchange didn't drop that much under 1 month?

  • Hey, i was just wondering what the gpu was specifically, what brand?
    thanks :)

    • I think they use different brands depending on price, my 1660ti was gigabyte.

  • Hi Luke, do any of these builds qualify for the 2 free games through AMD?

  • -4

Like from techfast may I ask when you say no is and it will boot what do I need? A USB with an windows iso? I'm confused do I need to do the bios thing can you provide step by step?

    • +2

Not trying to be rude at all, but if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be buying a computer without an operating system pre-installed.

    • +2

You'll need a media (DVD or USB) with Windows on it. Neither case has a DVD drive so you would need an external DVD reader to use a DVD. Then you can install Windows on it by following the step by step.

Nothing really needs fiddling with in the BIOS except to Restore Default Settings to clear a notification (which doesn't affect anything) with the Biostar motherboard.

But you will also need to install a graphics card to get a display in the first place, and then install its drivers once you're into Windows.

That's about as step by step as I can provide here. As per the listing we wouldn't provide software installation support for these - it's more just a low cost system for those who want it and have the pre-existing know how. There are loads of articles online to skill yourself up on though.

  • Hi probably a bit late to ask this, but any advice appreciated.
I'm looking for a gaming pc for my soon-to-be teenager son.
He's into Fortnight of course and looking at the newer games coming.

Any suggestions on where I can find some bench-marking against systems that will run the games he wants to play now and the next couple of years?
I'm new to this sorry, and realise there is a lot to consider and a fair amount of personal opinion.
I'm also aware the GPU is key, but don't want to buy a Ferarri F1 for Bathurst track.

Any clues on where I can determine what I need as a base model with some reasonable overhead and not bat$hit crazy would be appreciated.
After bang for buck (but sill good) and not bling.

    Cheers
    James

      Hi James,

Search on youtube for budget gaming builds.

They all have benchmarks for different games based on the components.

You will be fine on a Nvidia RTX2060 or even 1660ti.

    • +3

Hey James. Check out 'Tech YES City' on YouTube. Aussie guy who does alot of budget builds using parts he gets off Gumtree. Wouldn't bee too hard for you to do the same and build a cheap gaming PC for your son. You could also get him involved if he likes building stuff. If you just want a GPU suggestion, RX570 is good bang for buck at the moment. Can be found for around $150 and will handle most games.

    • +5

Hey James, the majority of our sub-$1000 builds/deals are just about set at the price for buying each component individually and building yourself (there are exceptions and people can always find deals to make this incorrect, but as a general rule, you'll effectively pay a small fee for assembly and delivery with our builds).

RX 570 8GB, RX 580 and GTX 1660 are the GPUs I'd recommend, paired with a Ryzen 3 or 5.

      They're here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/458655

      • Hi, just wanted to say thanks again for your help.
I grabbed one from the ebay deals posted by you.
I went with the Ryzen 5 2600 - upgraded to the 1660Ti and next level motherboard with bigger SSD.
Should make my son happy - also got the bling case - at his request ;-)

        Cheers
        James

        • Great to hear, hope he enjoys it!

    • Thanks for the replies below guys, all very helpful!

    • I am in an exact situation. Thanks for asking and replying!

  • +1

    Hi Luketechfast,

When will you allow people to change which case they want? I want to pull the trigger but I would rather a better looking case (vain I know)

    • It's not our business model yet. Cases, motherboards and RAM speeds are the things that require more resources to offer/order/build/keep track of than we are currently focusing on. Hard to say when we will, but it's not on the short term radar.

The alternative would be to request unassembled and on-sell or just wear the cost of our case, and grab your own somewhere.

    • +2

I completely agree. I would literally take any case from the main stream consumer market over this one, hell id even consider mounting my rig to the box it comes in.

  • Hi Luke,

Quick question, can you do a 9400F build with a discount code without a GPU?
    Cheers

    • +2

      I'll check today.

      • Great, looking forward to it. Might pull the trigger right away haha.
        Thanks

        • +1

          Here you go!

          https://techfast.com.au/collections/intel-systems/products/c…
          Code: i59400FEOFYS for $100 off

Only just posted and normally takes 10-15 mins for the Configurator app to refresh so you might need to clear your cache a few times.

          • @luketechfast: Hi Luke,
            Thanks for that!
May I ask how many days this will last for?
Pay day is around the corner and its much safer for me to wait a few more days than run out of money till then haha.
            Cheers

  • Hi OP,

is the cheapest gaming setup good enough for Occulus rift?

    thank you

  • Does anyone know on a scale of 1-10 how good their cable management looks?
    Thanks :)

    • +3

Easily a 8-9 for me. Was done very well.

  • Nice deal, but beware seller, has been 11 days since i bought pc, and hasnt been sent yet, still being delayed so take their 7 day eta with a grain of salt

    • What's your order number? Should be out.

  • +1

I bought a PC from techfast ebay 3 weeks ago that arrived last week. Arrived dead. Now trying to arrange for a refund.

I can't speak to how good their PC's are but the one i received looked a bit small, and the fan sound (which was the only part working) was a bit on the loud side.

    • +1

Please update, have you sent Luke a PM through here?

  • +1

    When does deal end?

  • Hello there, can someone from Techfast support please contact me? I have been communicating through eBay with someone but it's now been 3 days since I last heard back. My computer is barely useable due to a dud GPU and I really need it for work and study :(

    • Can I get your ebay username and I will ensure you're contacted.

  • Spec: Core i7 8700 / RTX 2080 8GB / H310M / 8GB DDR4 / 120GB SSD / 750W PSU / Leaper Pro RGB Case: $1649 with $350 coupon code

Could anyone help me with this build?

I heard that the PSU is kinda bad should I change it to their other PSU?
    850W 80+ Gold Power Supply $199.00?

and changing to their motherboard to this one? Im not planning on overclocking but want 16GB RAM. (swapping out with my own.)

First post but long time lurker.
Just wanted to give a heads up to members who might be looking to order one.
I placed an order on the 19th of May for one of their systems after reading through previous post and experiences of members here. In a couple of days the status of the item was marked as posted. Checked tracking, nothing shows up. But estimated delivery was meant to be 29th. So I waited. Item has yet to arrive.
Contacted them today via eBay and was told there was a delay in GPUs and apparently my system is now ready for shipping as it has passed testing today.
I can understand the delay as delays can happen but the dishonesty of marking the sale item as posted when it wasn't, that I can't comprehend. So buyers, please be aware of dishonesty.

    • +2

Hi ektw, apologies for the experience. We create consignments regularly on a piece of software to help keep track of the item's status internally between our departments. Sometimes that happens before the item is dispatched, and when created, the tracking number gets automatically pushed to eBay, and to the customer. Given our handling time is 5 days for the systems and the number was created in a couple, it sounds like an operational error. What should have happened is that error be picked up, and you receive a message saying the tracking number has been created, but it has not yet shipped, and a revised estimated time. Unfortunately that didn't happen for you, leading to you wondering and eventually contacting us. I'm working hard with the Operations and Support guys to stop errors like this happening.

      • Thanks for your reply Luke.

  • Anyone know how long this will go for?

  • Has anyone got their orders shipped yet for this deal? Its already been a week since I ordered and no word on shipment.

    • 2 weeks, no updates, no response from email.

  • Bought a pc from techfast 14th June and its arrived today (28th June). When the pc turns on, there's no beeps, and nothing connected detects. Not sure what might be wrong, my order item number is: 192948937892, and I've sent an email through. Was really ordering this one because my pc became buggy 5 weeks before fellowship exams. Any help would be much appreciated

    Charles

    • Hi Charles, can you please givbe us a call on 1300 898 956 for tech support, or email [email protected]. If you know how or can look up an intructional, try reseating the graphics card as that is the most common issue caused by transport mishandling. We'll get it sorted for you!
      Luke

      • Just confirming I've seen your email in support so Callum will be in touch.

  • Does everyone upvoting this realise how bad the motherboard is?
