What a load of crap. Nothing in a phone can detect HR unless your phone has an actual HRM built in.

It uses your camera and light to detect your HR. If you shine a bright light through your finger you can see a subtle change in colour which the camera detects as the heart rate. Maybe next time try it before complaining. Here is a video showing this phenomenon

So it's best guess at most.

        • +1

          It’s surprisingly accurate

the heart rate function(BPM) works very well, the "Dynamic pulse waveform graph" is a different story

        • It's how iWatches and other wrist worn devices measure pulse - and it's highly accurate.

          • -1

@howdydood: It's highly accurate with green light which is what iWatches and all them use. White light, less so.

            • @Tacooo: Yeah - no - White light is comprised of all the colours including green - have another guess lol

              • -2

@howdydood: Wow very good. That must be why none of them use white light in the HRMs then.

                • +1

@Tacooo: @potplanty You wouldn’t design an hrm for white light and a colour discriminating sensor as it would be more expensive and unnecessary wasted energy but a full visible spectrum camera with white light emitter is still capable of working as a green only sensor by ignoring other frequencies being detected.

You had me until "+++" in the name… that screams garbage app.

    • I thinks it to differentiate them from other apps with the same name

Seems okay, though demands a 5 star rating to get history recording to work.

      That’s a bit wrong
