Man you guys are hot with posts. I wonder what kind of profit you've been able to make since your inception on OzBargain.

Will you guys be getting the next gen Ryzen in?

        • +5

          Yup

        • What's so special about the next gen Ryzen??? Will it be better than intel i5/i7s?

Is the Ryzen worth upgrading from a i7 4770??

          • +1

@Homr: Considering your CPU came out about 4-5 years ago, the next gen ryzen is worth getting.

            • @squall3031: Yeh but i've been hearing that 4770 was a kick as CPU that still hold its own till this day.

          • @Homr: Much better value, performance and power draw.
High end Ryzen will match or beat most of Intel, while being cheaper by far. Mid-low range it will dominate.
            Yes.

Do you upgrade the bios of the b350 for the 2700 before you send it ?

    • If you click on the MoBo link and look at the Specs it supports Ryzen 2xxx CPUs. So looks like it comes with a bios that supports the 2700

        I stand corrected, cheers.

Edit: actually at bottom of that page it says please update the bios before installing the newer series cpu, yes it supports but looks like you need to update bios, but you need a working cpu to update the bios, hence my question.

    • AMD does actually provide this free "bootkit" for this exact reason. You do have to return it when you're done though, more info here
It's great that AMD looks out for its customers like this.
So go ahead and order this, worst case you may help to wait a bit for the bootkit to arrive.

      • Good to know, I am just impatient :p

    • Just confirming, we will not update BIOS before sending as this will be an unopened boxed MB, but it will boot with the R7 out of the box. You can update the bios whenever you like but it is not required at first install. You will likely get a CMOS error message which can be cleared by Restore Defaults -> Save and Exit.

      • Cheers for the update

  • does the ryzen 2700 bundle come with the wraith cooler?

    • +1

      Yep, it's retail boxed.

Do you know how much buyer's remorse you guys are giving me?

    • WHich deal here specifically?

    • Yeah same here, I bought from Techfast after their return in April. Ryzen 3 RTX 2080 for $1299.
Everytime i see a Techfast deal feel that remorse welling up again.

  • Luke pls stop i don't need an upgrade yet :'(

Any deal on just the Ryzen 2700?

  • I'm still holding out for a sub-$800 deal :)

  • Recently obtained a 28 degrees mastercard. Would it be worth purchasing one of these using a buyers protection credit card for price drop?(First time question sorry!)

    • I'd say yes but I'm not 100% sure how that would play out.
Not sure if it requires identical parts or models or something along those lines.

Although 28 Degrees has never even asked for an invoice or proof when I've done price protection ¯_(ツ)_/¯

For anyone on the fence about Gen 2 v/s Gen 3

  • Just received the i7, 2080 and 31.5" AOC screen bundle. Excellent communication throughout the whole purchase (I cancelled a previous order to buy this more expensive one), fairly quick delivery (8days, over a weekend so effectively 1 week), and the build was well made.
I won't list what parts I got to save Luke the headache of "what components will my build get", but suffice to say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and brands of components used.

I'd buy again and recommend in a heartbeat.
