  • Does it include the keyboard in the picture that you posted ?

    • As far as I know it doesn’t, however that is the exact image HN are using to advertise this deal on their website surprisingly!

    • +5

No the photo shows keyboard but the description says keyboard not included

        • +1

(Signature Type Cover, Surface Pen, and Surface Arc Mouse each sold separately).
The photo is what appears from the link uploaded.

@Squeezy: It's not stated in the deal post above.

              @jv: updated

Wow thought it was a laptop but its just some tablet thingy

    • +1

      It's a pretty good 'tablet thingy' though…

    • It has a camera so of you swallow it you can see inside you

MS Store selling at 1145 too. You can buy from MS Store if you have the AMEX offer.

    • There are no base models avail on the MS store currently

      • -1

There is. You need to change the color from black to silver.

Waiting for the bundle to come down to $1170 as it was in April.

  • +11

Pretty misleading when 4 out of 5 photos include the keyboard cover.

    • +2

Agreed, and the earlier models came standard with a keyboard a few years back, so people with that in mind might be caught out pretty easily if they aren't clearly made aware it's an option / addon now.

Interesting that JV says the same thing and gets 14 down votes.
      Ironic.

      • +1

JV has a certain way with words though (:

        • Sometimes maybe.
Sometimes (s)he can be a right royal dick.
But often they can be the balance that OZB needs.

I quote… "Pretty sure it's misleading advertising if you don't make it obviously clear that it's excluded"

Entirely fair and valid in my opinion… yet >18 negs on this very comment.

  • Picture of mouse and keyboard for demo purposes only.

    *Office 365 available separately.

**Available colours for Type Cover and Surface Pro 6 may vary by market and configuration. (Signature Type Cover, Surface Pen, and Surface Arc Mouse each sold separately).

  • Fyi, if you are worried about space just get one of those 128gb Samsung Micro SD Cards, works like a charm for additional storage

and wow type cover is like $200 now, I got the one for my Surface 3 (like 3-4 years ago) for $150, try asking for a bundled discount if you go in store

    • There's this deal at the moment too,

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/464098

    • Yep, I put a 256GB microSD in my fiance's Surface Pro 6 128GB, was less than $75 (can't remember the exact price).

She's not a heavy storage user, but piece of mind there should she need it.

    • type cover is like $200 now, I got the one for my Surface 3 (like 3-4 years ago) for $150

I got a Surface pro 3, i5 8Gb with a type cover for $400 on ebay… It's in perfect condition except battery only lasts about 3 hours.

  • Is it worthwhile upgrading from the SP4 if its working well?
The main pro I see is batter life? I get 5-6hrs on low brightness vs. ~9hrs seems possible on the SP6?
Incremental processor upgrades are of low value to me as I'm not doing intensive tasks and the SP4 4/128Gb handles fine.

    • +3

      Dont upgrade

    • +1

I still run a 3 and it works great, dont think you should upgrade unless its dying.

3 hours of battery and better processor probably not worth

    • -2

Nah, keep it. Only advantage of SP6 vs 4 is the addition of USB-C

      • +4

        SP6 doesn't have a USB-C either.

    • Thanks for the mental fortitude everyone! Going keep the SP4 until it dies. I still have my Surface 3 which I sometimes use due to its handier size :)

  • How much to add the keyboard ?

  • Had a look at this at JB yesterday. Haven't started negotiating yet.

There is a review from last year, they say the keyboard is a must.

    https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/oct/16/microsoft…

Keyboard from Micro$oft site is $160 for the black one, $200 for other colours.

Pen is $112.( Dearer at JB)

Shopback says 5.5% cashback on Microsoft site. ( Around the $80 mark ).

    • +2

Agree, keyboard is a must. My fiance has this exact unit with the keyboard and it's a good package. Would definitely feel incomplete without the Type Cover.

  • Both Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi have dropped the price to $1079 (20% off)
