Good price for the Laptop 2 i5/8GB model

But maybe wait for new model with 9th gen CPUs and possibly better I/O (T3?)

    •

When are the new models due?

Should be this year thought nothing confirmed yet

There's one for 2 years in a row now so should happen along with the bi-yearly Surface Book update,Last year I believed they announced it in October for release in the same month

  •

The good old time where I could purchase a Surface Pro m3 for $797 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/427855)
    Not it's $903 :(

  •

Combine with the Harvey Norman Amex offer - that was $50 off a $350 spend…
Otherwise see if the Microsoft store will price match and then use the Amex offer there :)
I still think resale on a Macbook Pro is better though…

    •

      What is the Amex offer?

Do Microsoft store price match? If so then it's brilliant with the Amex offer.

Thanks for this! I was tempted looking at the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 i7 / 16GB / 1TB, but the Black model isn't available in 1TB. Whyyyyyy?? :(

    •

No stock I would say. Even Microsoft's website shows it as being unavailable.

      •

I hope it's a "No stock" thing, because I've been looking on their site periodically and I just assumed it's just not available in the black.

        •

Only seems to be platinum stock around, even JB don't have black posted. Same with Amazon US. Either a stock shortage or not making any more until a new model comes out?

@Monaro2004: Yep I also tried a few stores and it looks like the 1TB Black doesn't exist. Might have to wait for the next models.

JB Hi fi is matching pieces too if you don’t have a Harvey Norman near you

Pity Microsoft are profiteering so hard on the 256GB SKUs. A $400 jump from 128 to 256GB for otherwise the same machine is crazy.

At least with the Pro tablets you can throw a microSD in for some extra storage (did this for the fiance), but it's not quite the same.

    •

I had the pro too but it’s hard to use on public transport as the kick back is not that great for the lap .

      I ended getting a surfaceclaptop 2 - 256 gb in black tonight

      •

Looks terrific in black, reminds me of a classic ThinkPad (a very good thing in my mind).

    •

The big jump to 256gb is the sole reason why I have never bought one. I’ve been tempted for a while to get another windows laptop for those rare occasions when the iPad won’t cut it, but so far I’ve held out mainly to do with pricing for the 256gb models,

      •

Just seems like an unnecessary barrier to entry for most people since 256GB is the sweet spot. I don’t understand why MS persist with it.

Two weeks ago good guys had 10% off storewide and included surface pro bundles. It brought the 8gig/256gb surface pro + type cover from $1579 to $1421, until I see something better, no deal.

  •

I just bought surface pro and keyboard for $1278. But im not going to open it till 30th of June, hoping there's better deal from good guys lol

  •

Not the base Surface Go :(
