While it is better CPU, you get 8GBs less ram (albeit the 17" model is running at 8GB dual channel instead of 16GB single channel).

There have been some discussions on whether or not the 9750H is worth the upgrade over the 8750H, but for a laptop that has average at best cooling unless you undervolt by 0.15V, the overall performance does not matter a whole lot.

Also, some may prefer 15 inches over 17 inches, personally I don't like lugging around a 17" one with me everywhere.

At the end of the day, I'm just here to share a bargain for those that care!

I'd prefer this one too, seriously doubt the CPU is gonna make any real world difference in this chassis.

      • what's the weight difference between the two?

        • +3

2.61kg on the 15" vs 3.14kg on thee 17" according to the specs posted online

  • what sort of gaming can be expected to be playable on this machine?

Midrange card decent for most games depending on what detail you want them at … below is some benchmarks :)

Here's a spreadsheet one of the Youtubers did on performance: https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?cid=42eb2aaf9b4d1fae&page=view&resid=42EB2AAF9B4D1FAE!38215&parId=42EB2AAF9B4D1FAE!38214&authkey=!AGSFtPcsFnjMyjg&app=Excel

The general consensus is that you should undervolt the CPU to reduce the amount of heat being produced to prevent thermal throttling. It has been shown that this laptop can run at 3.9Ghz on all cores with an undervolt.

  • Link please?

  • How many fps on minecraft?

  • Is it just me or has the actual mouse over discount price box vanished from All Dell ebay pages?
I no longer can see where it says $1799.20 can anybody else see it?

    • Ahh, it came back a few hours later, must had been eBay maintenance!

Does anyone think this will get cheaper over the coming weeks/months at all?
