Xiaomi Mi 9 Global 6GB/64GB $613.80 (Import) @ TechWarehouse via Catch

70

Hi Guys,

Possibly not the cheapest this phone has ever been but the cheapest I can find currently with local warranty.

Includes free shipping and I have already enquired regarding the model and have been told that this is the Global Version.

Pretty good price when you consider other online sellers will factor in GST at the checkout or when the phone gets imported you might need to pay 10% GST.

You can also use any of the cashback sites to get back 1% which isn't much but you can put it towards a $4 Maccas burger after 90 days.

  • This phone is the most irritating devices I've ever used. Furthermore when presenting previous models to MI service for minor issues staff went to extraordinary lengths not to honour warranty.

      What's irritating about it?

I went with the Mi9 SE cheaper and ticks my boxes

    • Works out to $584 with GST factored in and from an overseas seller so warranty can be a problem. Good find still.

Wrong! Giztop does not charge GST, but you have to pay shipping. Total cost is US$385.41 (~A$552).

The vendor of this Catch's deal is TechWarehouse, and the item is drop-shipped from overseas. Not sure about their warranty?

        • Correct, they don't charge GST but someone has to for any import under $1000. If it isn't the seller then it will be the buyer paying when the item reaches Australia.

As for Tech Warehouse yes they are drop shipping but since they are a seller in Australia they are liable for warranty on all phones for a period of 2 years under ACL.

          • @ar1299: No, I think you are getting confused. For import <$1000, GST is supposed to be paid by the seller. Customs will not ask buyers to pay any GST!

As for TechWarehouse warranty, are you sure they provide 2 years local warranty, or are you just making an assumption? They claim to provide only 1 year warranty.

And do you know if TechWarehouse's price is GST inclusive and they can provide a tax invoice?

BTW, TechWarehouse is definitely not "Australian Official XiaoMi Store" as claimed on their product page.

  • Deal from @clear https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/463719

No gst added and delivered within 7 days

    Great phone ..using it now

    • The eBay 20% off for plus members actually bought this phone down to $530. I'm not sure if the 20% off deals are common but probably worth the wait if you're looking to purchase.

I snagged one of these and the Mi 9 SE during the sale. Happy with both phones and the seller sent authentic Global ROM phones with 1 year warranty.

  • Band 28?

    • And many more

  • Anyone got experience buying imported electronics on catch? Do they honour warranty any better than ebay or some of the chinese sites?

    • This isn't catch, its like ebay or amazon third party sellers using the catch site.
