should note the 32" tv is at an incredible resolution of 768p.

    • +6

I still download everything at 480p or lower. Pixels mean nothing to me now that my eyes are over 30 years old. It’s great for saving on storage.

      • -1

        Unless your looking at RedTube

        • Automated blurring for all genitalia… and everything else as well.

      • +10

You should probably get an eye test and maybe glasses?

        • I wear glasses. Still don’t really care for HD or UHD.

To me sound is more important. Give me true surround (not soundbar rubbish) over pixels any day.

    • +2

Turns out it's pretty much impossible to buy a 32" 1080p TV anymore. My company wanted some for our trade show booths and we had to go with 40".

      • +1

        Just buy a monitor instead?

        • +1

I'll never know why we didn't think of that… Lol

      • +1
        • Wow and it's so expensive!

          • @deanylev: Yep, but it's one of the only 32" FHDs. Has low-end HDR (no local dimming) + "smart" bs built in.

People who buy it probably have space issues, so if they want FHD and can only fit a 32" set, then the Samsung is one of a very limited choice.

            There's also a Sony FHD 32"
            https://www.bigw.com.au/product/sony-32-led-full-hd-hdr-smar…
But the reviews aren't good, and it looks like it's an older model from 2017.

      • ALDI sold Phillips 32" FHD last year. I believe they didn't sell well as I saw them lying around for a long time at a number of stores.

    • You’ll be flat out finding a fullHD screen that size or smaller unless you want to pay around $700.

Anyone actually had a toilet install can comment on the service?

That bathroom heater light for 169 installed looks interesting

    • +13

Service was generally good. I picked up 2 on clearance last year for $100 each. The first one was installed and there’d was some issues which after I called they came back and fixed. The second one no issues. Takes about 2 hours and they do have services like removal of old toilet and others for a bit extra. The toilets are small but I did get use to it. You cannot use Xiaomi Bidet if you have one.

      • +1

How did you know everything would fit perfectly? Did they have to cut anyways walls or tiles?

        • +3

It depends on your area. I’m in Sydney and they got a local company to do it. They have done hundreds before me. You have to have a existing toilet first. It’s not a complete new install. As the toilet will generally be smaller than your original one it will fit

          • +1

@Michaelz101: So did the installer have to fill in the gaps in the floor around the new toilet? Does it look okay, cosmetically?

            • +2

@shake: The base looked better now than it was before. I had those old toilet base where they used to do cement and it’s visible. Those guys use glue and it’s much cleaner and easier on the eyes. Measure your base if you are not sure. The packaging box at ALDI will have the measurements and compare. Mine was fine and they look good.

              • @Michaelz101: Thanks for the info. Though I still can't quite picture how a new smaller toilet would fit in a larger hole in the floor tiles left by the old toilet. But that's ok, I'll do some digging myself, maybe talk to a plumber.

      • +1

Bunnings price is $275 for install + toilet cost.
$100 is an awesome price and I live between 4 Aldi stores so I will hopefully pick one up on clearance. Btw, how long after it was advertised did it go on sale?

        • It was about 6 months. I wanted one at $300 but didn’t get around to it. It was during December I got mine. I got one then I thought why don’t I just get 2. So I went back to my ALDI to get another. $100 toilet plus install is unbeatable it really is.

        • There was a gradual and staged reduction as early as a month after launch.

We got 3: First no issues, second needs two flushes occasionally and the installer broke a few tiles on the third (getting the old one out)

        • +1

I actually gpt mine for 49.50, buy i have an Aldi near my work and I popped in weekly and no one was buying them. In true OB style I dont know if I need it, but over the last 12 months I could deck out a granny flat with all the stuff i picked up on clearance for 50 bucks

        • Are bunnings toilets small like the ones from aldi in this deal?

      • Size is smaller, what the bowl and seat? How much smaller?

Was it worth doing or do you wish you bought a different toilet?

        • +1

Well I’m close to 100kg and fits me fine. Absolutely not, they are toilets and they look clean and makes mine smaller bathroom and ensuite look bigger. I’m coming from old plastic toilets. Ceramic bottom and cheap plastic tank at the top. Would do it again even at $300.

          • @Michaelz101: Wow at $100 that’s unbelievable! I hope I get the same. I would buy two or 3 at that price (as I’ve got 3 toilets).

          • @Michaelz101: Hi is it a back inlet or bottom inlet? Thanks.

    • it says "Electrical installation only"

      whatever that means.

      • That’s for fan/light

    • +2

From what I heard, it's entirely subjective. All Aldi do is post an advert on serviceseeking or similar site, and whoever bids lowest gets the job.

      • Sounds like you need to have an existing light and they just replace the switch… which is what I need.

    • +4

Got it for $99 clearance last time. Took forever to get someone to visit to actually install, they cancelled on me multiple times. Had the toilet for atleast 3 -4 months before I could get it installed. The contractor that did end up coming to do it was good, some damage to the tiles the toilet was placed on but he told me there would be some damage to them prior installing. He fixed it up pretty well. Toilet handles my turds so can't complain!

      • +1

A cheap install is all good and well, however what do you do when you need spare parts when you have a no name brand toilet? In the past my toilets have always needed a wash or seal at some stage.

    • +6

I purchased 2 at $169 each installed. Both were installed by Wagner Plumbing Caboolture, who appear to service northside Brisbane.
      1. After purchase contact organisor via ph or on-line. 2. Reply may ask for photos of old system - looking at system compatability. 3. If compatibile arrange installation, if not take back to ALDI for refund. Total process is reasonably straight forward.

My first photo contact determined the old system to be incompatible with new ALDI system, advising me to return item for refund.
The second install at Mum's was perfect, quick, left the site clean and very polite. (old system went in the bin.)
At the time the plumber (Wagner Plumbing Caboolture) advised of a $5 CONVERSION UNIT being available for my system. I contacted Aldi and offered to pay extra $5. Wagner Plumbing did another perfect install. Systems are working well with no problems.
I grabbed two thinking $169 installed with a 3 yr warranty was a bargain, never expecting a price drop to $99. Can still remember that day, going to Aldi to purchase a couple cans of pet food and comimg home with a car full of new toilets.

    • That bathroom heater light for 169 installed looks interesting

I'm tempted too. Bunnings have a similar unit + install offer for $249, so $169 looks cheap by comparison.

It looks like it needs a fair bit of roof space though, as it's fairly boxy.

      • Got a link to that one from bunnings?

        • It comes up as an in-line ad when you browse bathroom heat light category.

The unit included with the offer appears to be this one. So that would put the deal at $99 for the unit, $160 for installation. They list "I/N: 4441812" in the offer, but don't appear to stock it, so I picked the next likely unit with similar specs.

BTW I could have sworn that the price was $249 yesterday. It's now $259.

      • Has this offer of install always been in place for these bathroom fans? I bought some that look similar to these on clearance and had to pay an electrician to fit them… Kicking myself if we could have saved all that money. $169 is a bargain with install.

Our bathroom is open and isn't the biggest but does have a bath and I have noticed there's still condensation on the walls during the cold weather.

        • The problem is the install is only electrical. I assume you'll need to pay someone else to organise ducting for the fan, which is where the real costs come in

          • @railspider: Most houses, at least older ones with existing exhaust fans, are probably just ducted straight into the roof cavity anyway so this would just be the same once installed there

          • @railspider:

The problem is the install is only electrical

Is that for the Aldi offer, or the Bunnings?

Either way I would assume that the installation would include the ducting, as I'd consider it uncomplete if it wasn't. Like If some installed a split system aircon, but didn't connect the outside unit to the inside unit, only doing the electrical.

I think I'd be worth asking before purchase though, so there are no surprises.

            • @Chris McMahon: The catalogue stats electrical only. Herbo mentioned above a lot of people just vent the fan into their roof, but I'm not comfortable with that.

I imagine it'd cost a bit to arrange for the exhaust to pipe through the roof and out a wall, and don't think Bunnings or Aldi offer that service for 'free'.

              • +1

@railspider: I'll have to give customer service (13 25 34) a call tomorrow and find out for sure.

I too would prefer the exhaust vent fitted, and it looks like it is included in the kit, as well as a length of ducting.

    • Good experience. Had a local tradie come over and was done in about an hour. Paid an extra few bucks to have the old toilet taken away as thats not included.

You need register for installation the second you purchase and are sitting in your car if you want it installed the same month.

  • S-trap (down out pipe), not s-trap (horizontal out pipe.)

He gets treats on Page 7 though

He's a Chernobyl dog. Not great, not terrible.

      • 3.6 - not great, not terrible.

    • OMG I love him. Look at him eyeing off those salmon slices. How much for the doggo?

    • +2

He's got the hots for the cat and is feel disgusted with himself.

  • Hope Bunnings do beat this price leading Aldi to have unsold and forcing them to put under clearance for $99.

That would be best time to buy…

I don't suppose the Belkin is made for Google? (10w charge for pixel 3)

    • -1

Belkin tends to trade on their name but still have good quality. I imagine any expensive charger these days would easily support 10w

    • +1

Posted a comment about this below (missed yours first look).

Geared towards Apple as it’s the max they can use (7.5w) but will work with others.

  • Is the 32inch tv a smart tv I can connect to the internet? If not does anyone have any recommendations for a cheap one that’s a smart tv? Thanks

    • -1

You could try looking on Kogan.

    • -1

Check out Kogan for their range, generally branded panels with a Kogan sticker for a fraction of the price

    • +1

Check out the videopro deals on eBay. Aldi and Kogan TVs are complete crap, you're better off having nothing.

  • +2

I'm tempted but I get the feeling that the install quality will be down the shitter…

Wait for Bunnings counter offer ..

    • Was about to buy a bunnings toilet until I read reviews that the INTERNAL BOWL wasn't finished/glazed/lined/polished properly… so in other words, mud sticks

Thanks once again for posting whole catalogue, very useful as can't access it online like coles/woolworths.

If you buy the hi vis gear towards the end, can you install the toilet or the light yourself?

  • +1

I bought a toilet for $99 last time, after sending them photo's of my existing system then receiving an email confirming the aldi toilet was compatible, booked an install the plumber walked in and said Nup!
I put it on aldi to do the honorable thing to which they agreed, but after an unbelievably protracted process I took $150 towards installing it myself, then returned the dunny and got my $99 back..

    • So you're saying the deal was full of sh@t?

  • What's people's thoughts on the sound bar? This or the yas108?

    • +1

It's un-usable for a TV. Over ARC/Optical or AUX there's a 2 second delay in audio which your TV won't be able to compensate for.

Works fine as a stand alone speaker you'll stream Bluetooth music to.

  • The Belkin wireless charging base is the Apple specific one (7.5w) but will work with others.

I have the exact same one. Works well.

    • Only 7.5w though.
The F7U052 leaves it for dead.

      • Agreed.

If you have a non-Apple fast charge phone, it's not the best choice.

  • Anyone know if the 58" TV can be wall-mounted?

    • I hope so, I was thinking about purchasing it

Is this is same tap they sold a couple of years ago that had health concerns re: lead?

    https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/a-kitchen-ta…

    • Oooh I got the Bunnings one that's currently on special for $49 (suspecting a price match of the Aldi special buy). I hope the Bunnings one is okay

PS wasn't that tap in a previous catalogue?

      • +2

You linked to a cat post on Instagram..

        • hahaha lmao wrong clipboard pasting..

          this is the correct link

  • Has anyone had any experience with any of the toothbrush? Time to replace my oral-b

  • Anyone know if that silcone is 100% or the co-polymer type?

  • Spare parts for toilet hard to find.

    • Why are you looking for parts? Warranty.

      • And what about after warranty? I would hope to get several more years past warranty.

  • With the bathroom fan. Does electrical install only mean they install the fan in the ceiling and wire up the light switch in the wall or is it just the electric switch and you pay for the ceiling/fan to be cut/put in? Don’t understand what the electric only means. Or is this just a way of saying there is no ducking out to the roof tiles?

    • Plastering / patching if necessary is not included.

  • We got a toilet installed last year and it is great. Installer was tidy, on time, polite, I couldn't believe it!! The toilet works well, it looks modern with its ceramic cistern and replaced a 20 + years old toilet with a leaking cistern. We had some issues with another tradesman scratching the toilet seat a few months later so I contacted the number that came with the installation details and they sent me out a brand new seat for free! Plus a link to a video to install which was easy. Highly recommended.

  • Can someone help me out. I'm after the Low Profile TV Wall Mount but only if it tilts. Can anyone clarify for me that the Bauhn does or does not?

Given the absence of detail from https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-wed-17-… I presume it's fixed.

If it's fixed - can anyone point me to a reliable mount that's:
    - Between 42"and 65"
    - VESA that accepts 400x200 and 300x300 configurations
    - Will hide behind a 105cm wide x 65cm TV profile
    - Slim profile (up to 3" from wall)
    - Tilts forward and backward (between 10 to 15 degrees)
    - Quality materials (happy to pay up to $100)

My favourite pick would be the Sanus VMPL50A (Depth 1.81” Tilt 10-9) but the cheapest I can find it in Australia is $134.20 delivered from NZ (PB-Tech aka futuregear on Ebay)
