It is a nice deal too +1!

  • +2

They have been this price for 2 weeks now, get in quick if you want one because they're due to go back up

  • +16

    Shipping is 50 bucks…

    • +2

Lucky you. It's $68 to me.

      • +7

        And $163 to NT!

Is that fully assembled, with a human sitting on it?!

        • +3

with a human sitting on it?!

          Why would you want that?

        • +3

Yes, I think we are paying for it fully assembled with someone sitting on it… pushing it to our address using their feet.

          • @GregMonarch: No, I'm pretty sure they're being towed by the truck while sitting on it. Bonus fees for any injuries/accidents that are bound to happen along the way

  • +3

Yeah I've been looking at these for a while now. Wondered if they were any good. Has anyone used one in person? Mostly wondering how thin the seat padding it as I find cheap seats flatten out pretty quickly.

    • There are a couple reviews scattered around on JBHifi/Amazon etc. but nothing negative I can see so far.

    • +10

I bought one for $99 on Kogan. The chair is good for a basic chair.
Note that the chair doesn't recline and the arm rests aren't adjustable. Also, the tilt mechanism isn't good as well.
I'd suggest investing a bit more on a better chair.

    • +5

I got one from EBay at Christmas. Despite not having all that much use, the foam has flattened very quickly which means it’s not as comfortable as it was initially. The gas lift is also wearing out despite not much use as well. If you are only paying $100 to $200 all up, it’s not bad value but don’t expect it to last long. I’m 85kg, if anyone was wondering.

On the positive, the seat material still looks new. Assembly is also easy.

  • +1

How do they compare with the racing chairs from Officeworks/Kogan?

P.S. CPL is selling them at the same price too with an option to pick-up.

    • Officeworks is double the price…

      • It's more expensive when it's not on sale

        • +10

          Is that how sales work?

      • +7

Officeworks has the third generation, this is the first gen. If officeworks did stock the same one then it would be awesome because they would beat $99 by 5%

        • thanks for that. :)

        • You mean to say I could have the same crappy chair for $5 less!?

          • @magic8ballgag: Yes and this crappy chair will still be $200 cheaper than the popular gaming chairs no matter if it's discounted or not

            • @AlmightyBeing: I wonder why the popular gaming chairs cost so much more..

              • @magic8ballgag: Because they are built better and more consistent build quality But they also have extra features (some that not all people want), useless decals, and there is also a premium charge for buying a high end product. Everything fits on a scale of value for money and if this chair is even halfway decent it may have a higher value for money than the premium ones.

                • @AlmightyBeing: It was a rhetorical question, I understand that more expansive normally equals better quality.

      • Do you have the OW link?

        • +1

This specific chair model isn't sold at officeworks. All the models at Officeworks are also significantly more expensive.

  • +3

$69 shipping for me that really kills the deal.

  • +6

Shipping kind of kills the deal. Same price at CPL and pick up is possible

    https://cplonline.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=ThunderX3+E…

    • Bloody hate cpl though. Oh the dilemma!

      • Same. They have terrible warranty procedures. Oh well, added to description anyway!

    • +3

You can pick up at PCCG (at least at Rowville, VIC)

  • +7

Padding on seat seems very lacking :/

  • +1

    $90 shipping for me damn

    • For once I was thinking along JVs lines. What is so gaming about this chair?

      • +1

        The blue patches.

      • +2

It'll win the race to hard rubbish faster than most.

  • That 47 bucks shipping… Cya

      • +1

        Savage.

      • -2

Feminists are too busy keeping up the calorie intake to play video games anyway, silly.

      • +1

I admire your savagery, sir. Here, have an up vote.

    • +3

“I told you not to sit in my gaming chair mum, jeez!”

      • +1

Haha, I wonder how many keyboard smashes this chair can sustain lol

      • I know your pain!!! Have some big family members too who wont hesitate to jump on this chair if im out of the room.

    • That's what she said!

  • C&C only available for VIC unfortunately. Wonder if NSW based shops do it for that price..

  • +5

Think ill keep my old chair for a bit longer.

  • +1

    • I am interested aswell.

    • I am

    • PM'ed.

  • For those whose height is around 170cm and have this chair, do you know if your head can rest? Quite important for me

    • Man I never considered that when looking into buying a chair online.

    • Count me in

    • I have this chair and I'm 185cm - my head can still rest on the headrest. It comes up to about half way on the back of my head.

  • Insane postage :o ($107)

  • $83 shipping on CPL or $90 on PCCG

    Think I might pass

  • Black is in stock

  • +6

Something you should not cheap out on is a good office chair for your back sake and I'm afraid these gimicky gaming chairs are not good quality.

You really need to spend hundreds. Go and have a look at your local office furniture places (not office works), often times they have refurb ones that will be 10x better than this listing but more pricey unfortunately.

If you want to buy new, start at a minimum of something like this….

    https://www.winc.com.au/main-catalogue-variantproduct/buro-v…

    • i want something with a high back. If I fall asleep in my chair, I don't want to snap my neck.

      • These chairs with “neck support” will ruin your posture.

If you want neck support, go have a lie down in bed.

  • Lousy chair, no recline function. Ebay gaming chairs at same price incl. Shipping have recline and footrests.

  • Looks cheap… is cheap.

  • I think spending money on a chair without sitting on it to at least test the padding is a bad decision. I would be happy to spend this price but I reckon after four hours on this thing it's going to be flat as a pancake.

  • +3

What makes the chair "gaming"? I'm not seeing any RGB LEDs on it.

  • Tried this out in JB really comfortable!
Unsure about summer if the heat would make it uncomfortable to sit on

    • Very uncomfy in the summer,
You'll need to put a dry towell over it atleast. Helps regulate and keeps things in check.

      • Thanks for the info !!

  • tempting

    but delivery fee kills it

  • -7

What makes a "gaming" chair different from a normal chair?

    • +3

      Themed appearance.

Like my mate's 4 Cyl mustang with 5.0 badges on it.

Don't see how that's neg worthy.

      • That is absolutely hilarious. Only because my mate also owns a 4 cyl mustang…

  • +1

Maybe those that are close to PCCG or CPL would be able to get Bunnings to price beat?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/thunderx3-ec1-black-gaming-chair…

    • Called would charge for shipping. Willing to price match to 167 for QLD.

  • Have to say this chair doesn't even worth 99 bucks more like 40 bucks. The chair look and feel so cheap. That my 2c.

  • I own these two chairs..

    https://www.thermaltake.com.au/x-comfort.html

    And

    https://www.umart.com.au/DXRacer-King--KS06--Series-Gaming-C…

There both great.. king is bigger and softer.. the thermatake has insane build quality.. but is stiff.

  • Rang up bunnings and they said they don't price match on special orders.. :(

  • what is a gaming chair
