Wow that does seem cheap for a 10" tablet with those specs.

Been chasing 2 for the kids for games and in-car movies, think I might bite the bullet cheers OP

    • Don't just read specs and see photos they are all made to be amazing. Google the reviews.

      • Lol yeah I know I was just scrolling through some now.

Seems worth it for the price from what I can see

    • +1

Looks like would be good for that.

In this review, his main complaint was the large gap between screen and digitiser. Something you can probably get away with on the kids and for movies.

      • Yeah I bought lol 2x tablets for under $250 seems decent, cases are easy to come by once I get the tablets

And they use headphones when in the car anyway

  • Not adding any bonus sdcard with mine.

    • +2

I noticed it didn't add in the app or mobile view, desktop only

      • Yep thanks, it worked on the desktop… A good bargain.. Now on eBay to order glass protector and protective case. :)

        • +3

I'll get cases for mine, but I'll wait till I get the tablets before I do ;)

  • +2

I haven't been around Android for a while, but aren't they up to 10?

    • +2

      9 but 10 soon.

That's what you get with cheap Android tabs, usually older Android and no updates.

      • +4

You can get that issue with flagships as well

        • +1

Samsung aren't great in this regard. I found Xiaomi to be better. hp was the worst from memory…

    • Android 9.0 is the latest.

  • Don't forget CR 8% cashback.

    • Yep got that… the highest cashback is 7% through TopCashback.

      • What's TopCashback and how do u get a discount?

        • Click on the "Cashback" button above…on the top right hand side, just under the "Go to Deal" button…you would find TopCashback there.

    • CR gave under 4% cashback $3.63 for me.

  • +1

Can you get a decent case for it?

    • I'm also wondering this. Ordered for my son and trying to find a big bumper style case haha

Anyone have an inkling as to whether any cases for a different tablet might fit?

      Cheers.

      • +1

I came across this bumper case.
Again seems to be a generic case but should fit (I'm sure one of the listings or reviews said it did, this was just the cheapest version of it I found). Cheap enough to try I guess.

        • Thanks so much!! I'll give it a burl.

    • +1

Can't vouch for its decency but this is what I ordered. Seems to be a generic case that fits the Onda V10.
US$4.71 + GST. Supposedly to be shipped via ePacket too so may arrive a little quicker, though seller hasn't actually shipped it yet.

  • It says 10% off with Banggood app. That won't apply to discounted goods like this, right?

    • No, the app took a small amount off, but didn't include the 16GB microSD

  • I'd love these specs and price in a 8 inch tablet. Anything going?

    • +1

You can get this Chuwi Hi8 SE for around $68 US with the coupon BG0cb8fc

While you get Android 8.0 the downside is 2GB RAM and a weaker CPU.

      • +1

Thanks. Any chance of a sub aud300 mi pad 4 8 for me so I can hand me down my old tablet instead?

        • you could with the shopback aliexpress cashback deals.. not sure when the next one is though

  • Been looking for a cheap tablet with at least 1920 x 1080 resolution.

  • -2

Wow nice specs, better than iPads

    • +1

Way cheaper than iPads, but most of the specs on an iPad are likely to be way better.

Processors, quality storage and screens are what you are paying for (and Apple's profit margin of course).

  • Hey guys,
Is this upgradable to higher Android versions?

    • +5

You'll be stuck with Android 7. Part of the reason why they're so much cheaper in comparison ;)

      • ohk , thanks maate for the heads up.

Is there any reason for not releasing new firmwares?

        • +7

MediaTek is the main reason as they're very slow to push out source codes making custom ROM development near impossible. Google's Project Treble changes that by allowing updates more easily, but that still relies on the manufacturer to meet the requirements or a developer to actually build a ROM based around it.

Usually a lot of budget manufacturers would rather just go and build a new tablet for sale.

  • +5

Came here for the band 28 comments… Was disappointed.

    • +5

NO BAND 28!!!!!! ONLY BANDS 1,3,7!!!! I AM DISAPPOINT, I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY SELL WITHOUT B28!! I AM GOING TO CALL THE ACCC!!!!!! FU GERRY

      • +2

Reminds me of the movie "The Room" scene in the Disaster Artist.

      • Please tell me you used the word disappoint deliberate! :)

  • +1

    Android 7.0 System
The new Android 7.0 OS decreases mounts of storage space required for apps and improves runtime device performance.

Lollll that's word for word what they had as the description for the chuwi tablet that was posted, except that was Android 8.0 classic!

At this price I guess this will never get an update?

    • Nope no update

  • It's only 2gb ram

    • +2

This is the updated version which has 3GB.

The RAM has been changed to 3GB RAM from July 16th 2019

I used to love my V820 but then i had some massive issues. I sent it back for warranty after it stopped booting which i had to pay $40+ for freight. Then the one i got back was hard to turn on (button seemed jammed) was going to cost another $40 to send it back.
When it stopped turning on, i contacted them again but they said the warranty was from date of purchase and they couldn't do anything.

On top of this, when it was working, it regularly filled up with spyware that would re-surface after deleting. Could could also hear something like the speaker or mic activating from time-to-time.

I won't be buying an Onda tablet again.

  • +1

This one has Android 8.1 with 4GB Ram, 64G ROM, higher res screen (2560*1600) and it's only $69 USD ($98AUD). Anyone know what makes Ondo in this deal special? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HD-Screen-10-1-Deca-Core-Android…

    • Weaker camera, no 5g wifi, GSM only (it says supports external 3g dongle)

    • +8

That unbranded Deca-core tablet is a notorious fake tablet that has found it's way all over AliExpress with reviews exposing it on YouTube. The ROM has been modified to show its fake specs.

This guy found that his actually had the older/slow MT6735 quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

      • +3

A really big THANK YOU Clear, I have seen those ads and I have been fooled, and the thought did occur to me of it being almost too good to be true.
If you could be offerred a commendation I would approve.
Thankfully I have not purchased one yet, because I still have an old HQ Samsung one somewhere.

  • +1

bought one, but skipped the sd card because was on mobile.

  • +4

    what's happened to "Ainol" brand?

    • They were a pain in the @r$e to "use"

    • +1

Oh man I loved my Ainol Crystal. It really hit the spot back in the day!

After tablets they had a very popular mini pc and then moved to robot vacuums in 2016. After that they pretty much closed shop.

      • +1

I heard you were an Ainol fan!

        • +2

Not much else to do in WA :)

          • @Clear: Never could get enough RAM in the Ainol

  • +1

A bit old but can't complain for the price. Chipset apparently equivalent to about SD615. So should be a decent media tablet and not too bad for most games.

  • Do these screens have burn in? Tempted to make a digital photo frame out of it

  • Thanks op, ordered one from computer so I also go the free as.used shopback too so hopefully 8% back

    • +1

Think these fall into the 5% category.

      • Ok, Thanks

  • +1

it will lag, I can assure you, I bought a cheap icube tablet like this and didn't use it for more than a month.

    • +1

Yeah usually no one ever buy Chinese tablet twice, most will regret. Yes it's cheap but no point wasting money on them

  • I'm looking for something like this, the priority being a good display, expandable storage but also USB C (3.0). Can anyone recommend a tablet like that?

    • +1

Chuwi Hi9 Pro has USB-C, expandable storage and 2500*1600 res but only 8 inches, and more pricy

      • That sounds ideal, thanks!

      • only 8 inches you say…

        • Wow 8 inches, she says…

    • +1

Try the Binai T10FHD or VOYO I8 Pro. Both 4G over 10" and USB C

  • have to mention: its CPU is 4yrs old

  • Can you make phone calls on it

    • Sorry mate didn't see this question earlier, yes you can make phone calls.

  • Cash back is $3.63AUD from CashRewards

  • Is the bonus 16gb over, doesn't seem to add to my cart…

    • Still available, microSD card not available via mobile need to use desktop site.

      • Ah ok, will order via my desktop. Cheers

  • I have bought these before.
Trust me, You absolutely get what you pay for :)
As in they're total pieces of shit paper weight after a month :)

  • Did anyone get a confirmation email from Banggood after they completed their purchase. I only got an email from PayPal confirming payment but nothing from Banggood and for some reason when logged into the Banggood app the purchase does not show up. I would imagine my purchase may still be in the processing phase but was just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat. Cheers.

Disregard, I just realised I have two accounts with them.👍

  • No longer getting the bonus gift BlitzWolf® MicroSD card? I'm trying from desktop :(

  • Anyone receive theirs yet? If so, what do you think?

    • I ordered 27/7 and tracking showing approved by Australia post. Still waiting for Delivery to SA. Hope screen not too dim as per above comment. that would be a total let down!

  • Mine arrived yesterday. I’m in Melbourne. Everything seems ok so far.

  • Received mine yesterday and have been playing with it ever since. Very happy so far. I've been duped by fake chinese tablets before, but this is not one of them. Chinese tablets are not bad per se. Some are very bad and give the rest a bad rep. I'm on the Gold Coast.I advise you to jump in while the deal is still on.

The screen is not overly dim, but not as bright as on a premium tablet. It would not be great in sunlight I expect.

    • +1

I find the screen way too dim, compared side-by-side with a 4 year old chinese tablet its at least 25% darker on max brightness.

      dissapointed.

  • +1

Got mine today (Sydney). Tablet seems reasonably fast. YouTube can be watched in HD. Netflix can be downloaded from play, but I don’t think it’s HD. It gives you the opportunity to download to sd I think which is a good bonus. Wifi is average. The 5ghz works bad (very slow), while the 2.5 its ok (20mbps download, while on iPhone it’s showing speed of 80). Tablet is sealed and has different stamps to certify it’s an original “onda”. Speakers are garbage. I’ll post more thoughts when I have played with it more.

  • Mine just arrived but no chance to do anything yet. Is it confirmed there is no custom Rom available being media tek and all? Is the installed one safe, no spyware?

  • Mine arrived today (Perth). Strangely the seal on the box was broken due to some reason, but evrthing inside is brand new. Looks good, just updated apps and installed youtube, all working well.

The good thing is there isn't any Chinese bloatware apps.

    • That’s strange. Mine was unopened.

    • Mine hasn't got past "shipping info approved" yet. AU direct isn't as fast as it used to be, around a week stuff would arrive before.

At this rate the case shipped by China Post might get here before the tablet :)

      • Mine hasn't got past "shipping info approved" yet.

I was the same, but just checked the tracking number on Auspost and it's awaiting collection at the post office :) Woo!

        • Unfortunately no change for me.. hopefully that means mine isn't far off though..
