    Don't forget to activate cashrewards.

  • can i port a number from post paid telstra to this sim?

    • You don't need to port from post paid to prepaid on telstra. The help desk can change your account over to prepaid using your current simcard if you are out of contract.

  • Can this be sent to parcel locker address?

    • No - it’s sent via StarTrack and they only deliver to home addresses.

      • +3

And you have to sign for it or it goes to the post office for collection..

        • Yea that was always so annoying. Didn't happen if you order from Kogan or some shit mobile

  • +1

Nice. Time to claim some free gyg burritos for new sim first time users

    • +5

How do we do that? And what else can new numbers be used for? There should be a list.

      • On the app
Also there's ubereats $15 off first time order

        • ubereats check credit card as well

          • @fomal: use PayPal?

            • @CC123: Yea but surely it's easier to have multiple Credit Cards than multiple PayPals, unless you're saying Uber don't check for unique PayPal address?

          • @fomal: prepaid credit card lol

            • @mousie: I tried using prepaid cc to pay for uber eats,, uber eats refuse to take that

      • Ritual $10 credit for free food. Maybe some ride share apps for free rides.

        • Ritual only for SYD/MEL though I believe

  • will this expedites my process to switch to this Telstra 365 by purchasing this blank sim card?

    • stop overthinking mate

    • I have the Same Q…?

  • Always good to have additional numbers

  • Can I use this sim to port over to post paid plan at some point? I m with optus, waiting on a good telstra postpaid deal to port over.

Problem is I dont have a nearby telstra shop. Also got burnt once when my number got ported and my new sim didnt arrive so my phone was offline for a two days .

  • thanks op

  • I thought you can't activate a $2 starter kits without paying for a plan during the activation process??

    • Want to know the correct answer to this also

      • +2

I know you definitely can't do it for Optus and Vodafone because I have tried

I need a new number for a new tinder account.

        • Hahahaha!

Well I just ordered a sim. I guess we'll find out.

    • Link to Telstra website says "Use this SIM to get started, then recharge any amount when you activate" so reads to me like the sim is only activated once recharged?

    • +1

So Ernesto from Telstra live chat confirmed "The $2 sim will still activate, it just needs to be recharged so you can use the service."

    • You can.

Source: Activated 2x $2 SIMs last week without recharge. Selected long life.

    • u can activate the card and choose a plan and topup the credit later on. i think within 6month or else u lose the number.

    • can activate on telstra without a recharge or top-up.

How is this Telstra sim connected to Amaysim? Can you be on Amaysim plan with Telstra sim?

    • +1

Lolwut?! Fixed a neg vote, but seriously LoL.

    • Repeat after me: "Port out, port in… Port out, port in." (Hint: read the OP's links.) ;-D

  • +2

"You must have less than 5 prepaid devices to continue"

Shit. Would I really lie on the internet for my own personal gain? Nooooo

  • Does anyone know when they expire? (How long can you still use them to port a number sometime in the future - a month, a year?)

Nvm… Old thread states 18-month expiry before activating, and expires in 6 months after activating if not recharged.

Just when I lost my SIM slot opening pin.

    • Good luck with that. I just picked up my 2x from the post office. Neither had the tool.

      • Got mine, there's a pin inside.

  • -1

Best way to get a free pin.

Great at teller holes in walls too.

    • +1

      Yes you can.

  • -1

CAN WE USE THIS SIM TO GET TELTRA PLUS REWARD POINTS AND THEN CLAIM FREE GOOGLE HOME MINI…?

    • +3

I DUNNO BUT CAN YOU PLEASE STOP SCREAMING… ?

      • +1

I hate when people yell. STOP YELLING

    • No, you need to be a Telstra customer for at least 5 years for 10k points and the bonus points for joining ended on June 30 already.

  • Ah, Startrack… The only courier that somehow manages to 'knock' without making the slightest amount of noise. I'm sure they write out the cards out while they're sitting at red lights and then drop half the contents of their truck at Australia Post to save THEMSELVES time.

  • Mine arrived today. It came preactivated.

    • A Telstra SIM pre-activated? Don't think I've ever heard that before. I've only ever heard of that with Amaysim.

      • +1

That's what the documentation which came with it said. I haven't tried it on my phone yet.

        • Right - first I've heard that to be honest! I'll be surprised if it's actually pre-activated. You haven't provided Telstra with any details except for a recipient name for delivery as well as a delivery address. I don't even think it's possible for it to be activated from that.

  • thanks! save me walking to telstra shop and line up for a replacement SIM!

  • This deal has been around for Yonks

    Where has OP been hiding?

  • I need a SIM to sign up to a new account that needs a received SMS confirmation text. Can anyone confirm that these come pre activated

I don’t want to have to put in all my details, I just want to receive the SMS and then throw away the SIM
