      • How long ago did you sign up? Makes me wonder if they will charge you on a different statement.
I guess I want to be able to use the points for flights/flight upgrades. But I just wasn't sure whether the $50 fee was worth it or not

        • few months ago.
I like velocity and singapore air so I went for it.

          • @bohn: Fair enough. I'm the same collecting velocity points. I have a flight booked with virgin to fly on Singapore air in august.. I wonder if getting these bonus points could help get an upgrade?

            • @kimba88: better to use the points for a business class ticket rather than upgrading an economy ticket.
just save the velocity until you have enough :)
To upgrade an economy ticket you need to have the right class ticket (which isn't the cheapest one). Doesn't work out to be a good use of points or money.

              • @bohn: Really? Even when 'bidding' for an upgrade?

  • Can anyone tell me if it is possible to transfer your altitude points to velocity points? Rather than signing up to velocity with the potential $50 card fee?

Also, does westpac allow you to transfer your altitude points and have bonuses like an extra 15% on top when you transfer to velocity.. Just like ANZ does? E.g. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/412983

  • Is there still a requirement to be an existing westpac customer? Cant seem to find any inference to it
