    • Hmmm indeed.. Only $110 to melb

  • I’d be pulling the trigger on the 65C9 if the freight to (southern) regional Qld ($240) was more reasonable compared to Brisbane ($65). Even an hour north of Brissy is the same $240 compared to way out in the sticks. Haven’t answered my question about it either.

    • Only other option If you know someone in Brisbane send it to their address & pick it up

  • +2

I ordered the OLED65C9PTA after extensive research and reviews and finally pulled the trigger after finding a store that has the TV's I wanted on display. After a comparison in person of the Sony X95G and the LG OLED 65", it was an easy decision.

The screen size of the Sony was beautiful and looks bigger in person, but when you compare them side by side (and I feel this would be the same for all non-OLED TV's besides the QLEDs), you can see the backlight shows a slight dull tint on the screen compared to the OLED. You would only notice this in a side by side comparison, as when I looked just at the non-OLED TV's it looked amazing.

I ordered the TV on a Saturday and received it on Monday around noon, as they use Allied Express same day delivery, although being in Sydney metro may have made the difference in freight time.

When you unbox the TV, use the foam and the box itself to lay the screen down flat and leave some room to install the stand. If you don't have help to move the TV, always carry it using the foam provided on the sides or from the base.

I love this TV, however I am having some issues with HDMI (ARC) and having it play through my AV receiver/soundbar. I created a ticket with LG support, and it's been two days with no response. So support is not great so far.

The other thing is although blacks are amazing, you need to play around with the picture settings to get the brightness up. There are several guides on YouTube on how to calibrate the display or settings to choose.

So far though I would give the LG an 8.5/10

EDIT: The Sony was 75 inches

  • I recently got a c9 65" , upgrades from a c7 55'. No regrets, tv is amazing.

  • Samsung has been really shady again recently.

Their Mid range TVs have been getting worse since 2018
That being said RU8000 82" is not too bad at that price.
