SkyRC iMAX B6AC Version 2 Charger $55 Shipped @ Hobby Warehouse eBay

200
PAPA20

This ones a staple of the drone/rc car world. The iMax B6.
Normally $69, because of the coupon its currently cheaper than you could get it for overseas, and it comes with free shipping.

It's got a lot of features, and while it doesn't do anything super well, it does a good enough job to make it a good starting point. The fact that its got the power supply built in means one less thing to have to buy. Of particular use to me is the battery test function, that you can use to measure lithium cell capacity. Keep in mind that it's only good for a discharge rate of a little over 1amp though.

Note that if you search ebay or ali, you can find similar models at half the price, but those are counterfeit models, and there's no guarantees they'll work as well, or not blow up. The correct model for comparison would be this one

Bought the exact same model yesterday on Ebay for $37 with free postage so this isn't exactly a good deal.

    • Do I need to break out the quotation marks, my simple minded friend?
      Read the post.

      • I had no idea about clones before and after checking your link i now know about the different packaging and the skyrc sticker i will be needing to check. If mine is a fake then i will get one from Hobbywh but would be after this deal

        • +1

It's almost certainly fake, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you're not using it to charge anything expensive, and your house has RCDs installed, then it will more than likely be fine. It's a gamble, but you've already placed the bet and spun the wheel, so you may as well see it through. Don't push it too hard, use it till it breaks, and then reevaluate.

          • @outlander: It's only getting used for small Gel Blaster batteries which are 3 or 4 pin devices and can't see myself charging anything larger then those style batteries. But i will keep this in mind in case anything happens to it.

    • Link?

Doubt it is the genuine item at that price.

    • Is this the fake V1 unit you bought?

    • There are a lot of fake SkyRC iMAX charger on the online market, and I am guessing your cheaper one is one of them.

Check your scratch off ID number on the skyrc website when it arrives.

If the sticker is missing, or shows up as already sold; you have a 'clone' and open a paypal dispute.

      • +1

Beat me to it! Genuine models have a hologram sticker. No such sticker on the unit jezzawezza linked

      • yeah i will be doing that now that i know that clones exist and will be checking the box it arrives in and the id number and if its a copy will be doing a dispute

        • +1

The silkscreen printing on the unit you bought suggests that it's a fake. See the difference.

Also a comprehensive comparison video here: https://youtu.be/jQ6hhP7dVvM

          • @m9: Yeah i had no idea until today about fakes so thanks for the video and will be messaging the seller too about it since its already been sent out
