Seems a stingy to pay $1100 for a phone, but then refuse to pay $80 to upgrade it from a measly 64GB to a respectable 128GB

  Doesn't seem stingy at all. $80 Would get yah 2tb of HDD storage, 500gbs of SSD/NVME storage, or 256gbs of SD storage.
  
  That last one being pretty important, seeing as it's been removed in aid of their rip off storage upgrades.

    I'd much rather 500GB NVME storage.
    
    SD is piss slow. Storage is so cheap there's no real reason Apple should be selling a 64GB phone nowawsysnowadays other than to up sell the 128GB one.
    
    Budget androids come with 128GB storage nowadays

64GB is plenty for me and many people I believe. $80 is not much but why pay more if you won't use the extra storage.

  Might be plenty for you now, but with app an file sizes increasing, and better cameras (especially video), you'll find that won't be true for long. People used to say the same thing about 16GB iPhones
