It's better to use your IHG Spire Elite to status match with Emerald Club Executive Elite and then match them for Hertz Presidential Circle

    • Wait you can do that? Link please.

Create an account with Emerald Club.

Submit this form with your IHG Spire Elite details - https://status.emeraldclub.com/

        • Do you know how long Presidents Circle last for?

          • @nightelves: Usually a year unless specified otherwise. Status match requirements change quite often unfortunately.

        • Which website link from Hertz to submit the Emerald Club details for the status match?

        • What do you send from your Spire Elite account to prove it? Digital card doesn't show expiry, and statement doesn't seem to show status?

          • @snoopydoop: I usually just show the card. Make sure you create an account with Emerald first.

    • Thanks! Didn't know this and I've dropped down to Hertz 5 star even though I'm at high tier status with Qantas and Accor, so I can use this route to get back up to President's Circle.

      • No worries, good luck!

If you go with VA Platinum, you can get Hertz President again. And Hilton Diamond ;)

if anyone got the IHG deal and wont use it, i would love to take your account off your hands

    • That’s fraud.

  • Europcar seems much cheaper everyone I booked a car

Be aware that travelling more than 500 metres on an unsurfaced road violates the T&Cs of Europcar contract (unless a 4wd and paid a premium)

      • Datapoint: We've had issues with the Europcar 'scratch' scam (twice (once in AU and once EU)). So never again with them. Hertz and Avis / Budget have been all fine and so far no scams in the last 18 months (we rent about 20 cars per year across AU, NZ, EU and USA). And other folks at our corp office have had similar experiences. Everyone seems to gravitate to Hertz & Avis / Budget.

        • I've heard of this, Europcar got caught in the papers a few years back from memory

  • Hmm interesting. I guess everyone has different experience

    • depends where you travel, generally Hertz is better in Aus, shit in Europe. whereas Europcar is better in EU? That's what I've heard.
