    Thanks

The licence code is mail via email, which is good!

  • +1

Yep, got mine about 15 mins after registering too.

  • +4

Got mine immediately after the registration (1 minute). Appeared in "junk" inbox in my Hotmail.

  • +1

not really sure what to do with it but thanks! :)

  • Mac?

  • +2

why is the Mac version almost 2x the size of the PC? am i missing some of the features?

    • +8

      Mac bloatware

      • +5

        i feel better now

    • Yeah kinda stupid..

    • +4

      Because Macs are inferior :D

      • lol

  • +2

I think it should be noted that this program has limited jpg adjustment capabilities and is primarily a RAW converter. If you don't shoot RAW then you are better off with a free photoshop ripoff style program. Still a good freebie though.

  • How big are the files?

    • +5

      Mac 224.8 mb

      Windows 125mb

  • +2

Great post, takes about 8min to download(PC/64).

  • Cheers.. thanks.. we use capture one at work all the time, and its now free :)

  • Got my code instantly after registered.

Absolutely NO IDEA what this software is for, but I go for anything free~lol Thumb up for e-sassin!

    • +1

Its primarily used to process digital SLR camera photos that are saved in RAW format. RAW formats allow you to adjust so much more than a 'flattened' jpg file which most P&S cameras use.

  • is it a generic serial key?

    • No.

  • I hate those word verification things! Always get it wrong the first 5/6 times thanks to letters that could either be a c or an e

Anyway I got a code, I just wished they'd confirm my entry as I checked my inbox & found 3 emails :P

  • Popped up a confirmation for me 1st go, then 2 secs later my email alert went and there was the code. - super impressed!

  • I also haven't heard of this program until now but at a RRP over $100 it MUST be good!
Hope we can activate it later because I don't want to download it now.

    • +3

      depends on what's your expectation.
you cannot judge the s/w product by its RRP.
some really good ones are open source and free, some may have RRP of $600 or even more.

I happened to purches a Pentax DSLR camera some time ago (thanks to ozbargain) and did some analysis on available RAW converters.
I found that the best ones (as per reviews at least) for Pentax DSLR's are Silkypix and DxO Optics Pro.
The other ones you may want to consider are : Zoner Photo Studio, Adobe Camera RAW, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
again, do not trust me. do your homework, try trial versions and see what you like the most.
I personally biased towards German and Japanese s/w (and h/w btw), or at least French one.
US probably had to big intake of 3rd world IT&T specialists, hence some US made s/w can be quite disappointing.
again it is not always the case, as I said before, do not trust me, get first hand experience trying trial versions or if you do not have time read a few reviews.

      • I agree with the above.. Trial a few programs & use the 1 that you are at ease with.

Editing a photo can only do so much, invest some time into learning some basic tips on how to take a great photo.

I recommend starting with this tip.. (the rule of thirds)

        http://www.pixiq.com/article/the-rule-of-thirds

  • Thanks, although I don't really need it or know what to do with it tbh…

    • it converts RAW files to jpg ones.
you can do all kind of adjustments to your image to improve it (some corrections are essential).
u have not tried this particular s/w, just assuming from what they say on their Web site.

  • Nice, havent used it before, but good find, free downloads always welcome…

    Nice find!

Here's a good intro to the program for anyone who hasn't used it before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jc0ZF0Tykgo

  • Great find, thanks!

i use gimp 2.0, the best alternative to photoshop in my books

  • Thanks, just bought a DSLR, so this will come in handy :)

  • -1

So its basically a rip-off of Adobe's Lightroom?

    • +1

Both have their fans, but I wouldn't say it's a rip-off. If you really want to get technical, Capture One was written well before Lightroom.

  • Cheers, got mine within 30 seconds of filling in the form

  • Registered last night but still no email yet

    • probably in your spam box. I got mine straight away

  • The 64-bit file is about 126 MB in size, ie, was about $1 / mb (pre-deal).

Does one key code work for all 3 versions (Win 32 & 64 + Mac OS)?

We are sorry, but there are no more available license codes

    • +2

Message me and i'll send you one. I got an extra one saved for a rainy day using another account that you're quite welcome to have.

      • Thanks kindly for the offer, I'll let you hold on to it though. I wanted it rather than need it, only to check out what this software really is.

        • PM'd you rav0

  • +1

    yeah, it's EXPIRED!

  • Can this code be used on multiple pc' ?

  • :( missed out.

  • No more :(

  • Does anyone know the answer to their question "what animal is featured on page 87"? Seems like it's on again but you'd actually need to have the magazine in front of you… :)

    • +2

they must have an "ozbargain detector" enabled, just for situations like this

  • Megan Fox is featured on the cover. Could that be it?

    • it's the one with the Keira Knightly cover

  • “What animal is featured on page 87?”
“What is advertised on page 44?”
“Name the expert on page 39?”
“What effect is being taught on page 67?”

  • +2

The answer to the question “Name the expert on page 39?” is Alex Nail

The answer to the question “Who is the author of the masterclass on page 45?” is David Clapp

The answer to the question “What is advertised on page 44?” is Olympus XZ-1

    • Thank you very much

  • Please answer this question using issue #110 of Digital Photographer magazine to claim your license code:
“What effect is being taught on page 67?”

    anyone please?

  • “What animal is featured on page 87?”

    • Seems to have expired "no more licenses".
