  • Called all 3 Perth CBD stores, they've all told me this deal has ended

    • +1

There's a big sign up still in front of the picadilly store

      • I was wondering if they still had signs up… Found another store that says they are still doing the deal and have put a phone aside for me.

        • Which store around Perth is still doing the deal?

          • @OverBought: 4th one I went in there and they told me it had expired…

Just purchased from store in Brisbane, deal still valid.

Can you please post a link to your invoice so that we may price match?

    • Which store? Hoping to get one today

  • +1

I managed to exchange to pixel 4 for an iphone 11 pro after paying the price difference in another store, if anyone is a big apple fan.

    • +1

      Sorry for the dumb question.
When you say pay the difference, it's the iphone RRP less $199?

      • price of iphone 11 pro = 1699 (negotiated from 1749), price of pixel 1049, difference = $650

      • iphone 11 pro 64G is selling with 1749 so i m guessing he paid extra $700 on top of $200

    • Wow what a great deal. Which store?

    • I just hope you are not claiming the Nest before returning your phone.

      • nest loop is closed. you can no longer claim. it's only when you buy directly from telstra.

Why no one post Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5g with $199 upfront deal?

    • Feel free to post it yourself, but I can't even find the deal anywhere

    • It was actually posted at 6am this morning but it was unpublished by a mod as it didn't have enough details.

      S10e $99, Xiaomi Mix 3 5G $199, P30 $199, Reno 5G $499, Note 10 $799, with Telstra 60GB $65pm Plan 12mths @ JB Hi-Fi

I tried at 2 stores yesterday to swap the phone and pay the difference but both times they looked at the receipt closely and said "oh you did the port in deal" and wouldn't swap. On the plus side i just had a nice chat with one of the telstra agents and am now on the $50 m2m no etc (It was my 5th try) :)

  • What can I sell a pixel 4 for on Gumtree or eBay?

    • And is the nest + p4 a better deal than the s10e + ear buds?

    • Sold my oh so orange for $800

    • Sold mine for $840 today.

      • Still sealed in the box?

        • Yes sealed box.

      • Where? Ebay?

        • Facebook Marketplace.

  • Anyone from this deal had to wait for their phone to arrive for pick up and in the meantime change to m2m and cancel the plan?

Any issue when picking up the phone?

I’m going to get this deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/493282) but the local stores around me don’t have stock but it says arriving soon on their website.

Worried if I sign up to the plan, change to m2m then cancel the plan all together before picking up my phone that it’ll affect me getting it.

    • +3

A couple of people have already tried this and failed. I'd wait until you get the phone. See here

      • +1

Thanks for that mate, just signed up with a store about 40 mins away who had stock.

    • Well I’ve signed up about an hour ago and now waiting for TGG to receive an email from Telstra so they can release the phone to me.

I’ve already gotten the activation email and plan details in my email as well as I can see the new account in the Telstra App.

Has anyone else had this experience with TGG or JB Hi-Fi?

      • Took 5 days to port the number across for me.

        • I’ve already ported successfully

      • Does your new Telstra SIM work?
It should show in their system if it has been successfully ported.

        • Update is the store person was incompetent!

Another person came and checked the Telstra Siebel system which shows connected and was out the door within 10 mins!
wasted over 1.5 hours waiting for nothing!!!

I tried to claim my Google nest hub but it's responding with "not eligible". I tried both IMEI numbers from different phones. Could it be that JB Hifi staff have claimed my Google Nest?

    • same here

    • +2

More likely some assholes claim the nest then return back the phone.

    • Could be that Telstra closed the deal for JB customers altogether, especially after so many claimed off both IMEIs.

    • The deal was closed for JB customers, you have to buy it directly from Telstra now. The last day to do it as a JB customer was Oct 30 I believe, maybe even Oct 31 at the latest.

  • Google Nest Hub related query - I've tried sending the IMEI (first) to the Telstra no (851) but I haven't received any response. Is there a step Im missing to claim the Nest? Is there a lag for the response? Do I have to setup something prior? Any help be much appreciated.

  • +4

Received this message when I sent sms for Google Nest Hub.
Sorry, that IMEI is not eligible for this offer. Please ensure you send the IMEI1 (not IMEI2) of your Google Pixel 4 / 4XL, and that it was purchased directly through Telstra.

So contacted Telstra chat and received this reply..
The reason why your IMEi is invalid is becuase the offer is eligible for cusomers who ordered through the telstra website or over live chat. Devices purchased on JB Hi-fi is not included in the google nest hub offer

So I think this door has now closed.

    • Yep, can confirm Telstra have figured this out. Doors are shutting fast on this whole deal.

The thing is..Google sent me an email:

Thanks for reaching out to Google!

This is Summer from Google Shipping and Returns.

We're reaching out to you to let you know that your order is being returned to our warehouse since it got damaged in transit. It would be best to place a new order instead.

For further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach us over phone/chat.

  • Hoping to get on this deal today in Brisbane. Anyone have any luck today? Mixed reports of deal finishing 31/10 or 6/11.

    • Anyone had any luck in Sydney today ? Was told deal finished in Roselands and Hurstville.

      • Got 2 in the city Westfield. Called before I went.

        • What time? I was in Carseldine an hour ago but they wouldn't do it. The salesman tried but when he started the process he said the deal had been pulled even though there was still signs up in the shop. Do you have a reciept I could show them?

        • I called this store which confirmed this deal ended 30 Oct. Did you sign up before 1 Nov and pick your 2 Pixels today?

    • No luck at Parra Westfield today, s10e still available though

  • Has anyone actually received a Google Nest thus far from this deal?

    • Yes

    • Yep. You might be a tad late.

    • looks at table covered in Google boxes

I honestly don't know what I can use them for. Having a dedicated recipe tablet seems like a waste of bench space.

      • Makes me feel a bit better after missing the deal. :)

      • Photo frame. A tool to do directions on the spot without opening your computer or pulling out your phone.

It seems pretty useful, but then, you can easily sell it on Ebay.

    • -1

      Yes x2.

  • *Atleast managed to move the plan to M2M without ETC. Phew.

    • Have you got a bill yet?

      • Yea don't be too sure until the bill.

  • like most of you Telstra want me to pay the $390 ETC, have spoken to them 6 times now.

    • Keep trying! Yesterday I got my sisters one changed in the first go. I said I wanted to upgrade to the newer plans to trial the 5g network :)

      • I know "clothoo" on page 14 said he did it online/app and it came up as $0 one off + $50 monthly.
but they havent received their final bill so dont know if the $390 ETC charge is there.

A rep did say it should be $390 + $50 since the ETC + new plan monthly costs.

I dont want to do it online just in case they do charge me the ETC.

        • Worst case scenario, you can request to be switched back to JB plan, as the cost estimates provided mention nothing of the ETC.

        • +5

I got the final bill using the clothooo method. No ETC and bill pro rated for the few days I used (something like $7).

          • @Bluberry: That's great news mate, especially for those who did it without going through chat. I essentially did Clothoo's method but asked chat to do it for me.

Was that bill for cancelling/porting out? When did you cancel/port out?

          • @Bluberry: perfect!
            finally some confirmation!

how long did it take to receive the final bill?

as it says $390 under "Plan early termination charge" but under "more Information" it says "Your cost to recontract to an eligible plan is $0.

            • @Rakddon: Just did it online and I got an email:

              Order summary

              Total including GST $50.00

              Minimum cost $50.00 .

            • @Rakddon: Took a few days.

              • @Bluberry: how long did it take to change plans?

Just checked my account and it's done but didnt get any SMS or email confirmation.
Cannot see any charges for $390 under recent charges.

When did you cancel the M2M?

          • @Bluberry: Did you get the hubs?

            • @dockersrule: How do you know if it's a final bill or not?
              Thanks

              • @PlaneProof: I got a bill for a small amount but it's not the final one….

Might get onto chat for the final one. I don't want to wait until late November for the final one.

              • @Bluberry: Hey man, how do know if it's a final bill or not?
                Thanks

                • @PlaneProof: I have done this a few times :).

You guys are so cautious. You have to act fast on these deals. Who knows when these loopholes gets closed.

                  • @Bluberry: well, no one has actually done a write up or confirmed it was working with clothoo's method without ETC except you after I asked.

everyone who did clothoo's method was waiting for their final bill to see if they got charged and like the rest of us we waited to hear back which we didn't.

So yes we are cautious as there is no one confirming they have done it successfully using clothoo's method.

                    • @Rakddon: Mate of mine and his wife got their bills and they both have now been charged $390 ETC. :(

                      • @whatif: They did it using clothoo’s method?

                        That sucks being charged $390

                        • @Rakddon: Correct.

                          • @whatif: Did they receive their ETC bill separate to the plan charges? Other people have received bills for just the monthly charges

                            • +1

@Chillzy: No, they got it together, for 1 days usage charge pro-rata and full $390 ETC.
Personally I also did mine online and only got bill for 1 x 2 days - $4.26 but I did it couple of days before. From my understanding no-where on my bill says it's final. Infact it says "Payment is not required until your next bill". So something tells me we will all get another final bill with ETC Charge.

                              • @whatif: I think they're the first ones to receive a bill for the ETC (on OzB at least). Strange that Telstra are billing people differently, guess we won't know for sure until end of this month.

                              • @whatif: Did your friends get the final bill via snailmail or email? Does it specifically say final bill on the final bill? Thanks.

                                • @blue21: They got the bill via Email. I will check with them if it says Final Bill and report back.

                                  • @whatif: Did they cancel/port their M2M plan or change to pre-paid? Thanks

                                    • @Chillzy: They changed to M2M plan at night, waited overnight for new plan to reflect and it showed no contract and cancelled over chat.

                                  • @whatif: Could you let us know if you guys have disputed with transcript (if you guys have saved it)

                                    • @ThePriceIsNotRight: We have disputed that no where is said anything about ETC or any other fees to change plans to M2M, but they quoted T&C and said we changed from an ineligible plan to market plans.

                                  • @whatif: Thanks! Have you checked with them yet?

                                    • @blue21: Yes, Doesn't says final bill anywhere.

                                      • @whatif: Thank you. I'll be waiting for my bill.

                  • +1

@Bluberry: how many phones did you get? lol

          • @Bluberry: how come no one else got a bill, we all did this same time give or take 1 day +-

  • Anyone know if if boost to Telstra counts as porting?

    • No unfortunately
