  • These were available for $369 from Bing Lee Ebay sale recently. Surely you could at least match that

    • This is also from Binglee and i don't think OP is associated.

      • OP is correctly associated.

  • still cheaper at bing lee Ebay

    • Oh right promotion is still on.
So this is a dupe then

Once these are offering something beyond EMMC storage I will definitely get one. I basically remote deslptop to my home PC 90 percent of the time now already with Parsec.

I think this is a recent price drop, and not a deal, as I can't see the item being listed in the promotions section on the Bing Lee website. The website isn't advertising that this is a reduced price either.

    Officeworks have it for $397

  • Are these easy to take notes on via a stylus?

  • I am new to Chromebook. What apps can you use as alternative to Microsoft Office Word and Excel ?

You can continue to use it. It isn't as feature rich as the Windows version, but most users won't notice as they don't use 90% of the features of the products.

Alternatively the Google productivity suite (docs, sheets, slides, etc can be used)

  • I have a chromebook for over 2 years and it is still running smoothly. Google play store was under deverlopment and now it is available widely. The fact that it can now run android apps and linux (beta) is a plus. Now I can run visual studio code on a chromebook. If Microsoft supports chromebook to run a windows emulator that will be great - technically it is possible. I found that my chromebook got slowed down when linux beta and visual studio code is running in the background. Probably 8GB is needed for better performance.

If you do not like to carry power adapter with your macbook or windows laptop - chromebook will be your friend. It will work from 9 to 5 (actually 9 to 6) continuously without power plugged in.
