[VIC] Free Mulch for Macedon Ranges Shire Residents Only @ Macedon Ranges Shire Transfer Stations

50

Come and get your free mulch.

Mulch is available free of charge to Macedon Ranges Shire residents at Council’s transfer stations in Kyneton, Romsey and Woodend until 30 November or while stocks last.

This is a first-come, self-load offer. Residents should bring their own shovel, containers or trailer, and protective clothing.

The amount of mulch available at transfer stations varies.

The mulch is produced from garden organics dropped off at Council’s transfer stations, and is used on Council’s parks and gardens.

My local council offers free mulch all year round. Assume all councils do this.

    • Which council is that?

      • Moonee Valley in Victoria

        • My council (Melton) only offers self-serve free mulch when excess to Council needs. But they don't advertise when they have excess

  • How much is mulch worth? We had a day here, people lined up around the block.

    • I haven’t bought mulch in a while but it used to be $50+/1m3 when I worked in City of Bayside.

  • Wyndham does this too. But it's really crappy mulch and I suspect the same for Macedon. I'd want to compost it before I considered using it for anything.
