DJI Mavic Pro $624, DJI Spark Drone Alpine White $313 @ Officeworks

54010

I believe this is the lowest price it has ever been so far. Go for it. And yes, i know, it can't beat the bunnings drone deal.

DJI Mavic Pro $624 seems to be great value too.

Probably because it was superceded by the Mavic 2 Pro and the notorious Bunnings drone (Mavic 2 Zoom) which can be bought for about that price.

  • +2

could this be a price error? if others are selling $1300+, this is literally 50+% off which is quite rare for dji

    • DJI don’t have this drone on their website anymore, the base Mavic Pro is now the Platinum edition.

      • +1

either way, I think most orders are going to be cancelled. DJI probably stopped producing it and doubt Officeworks would have a few thousand of these in stock or be able to fulfill this many backorders

    • Yes! Looks like a price of new mavic mini to me. Could be wrong.

  • Thanks got one

  • +1

Can I price match this at Officeworks?

    • No stores with stock, only online

      • -1

        U get one? Hehe

  • +1

Great find. Was hanging out for a deal on the new mini but this looks a better bet. Ordered.

  • this or mavic mini spec & feature wise (excluding weight size etc)
    i'm newbie about drone knowledge

    • +1

      Mavic Pro all day

      • +1

        You mean “any day” 😂

        • Nah he means during the day, tomorrow might change

        • CASA regs specify no flying at night. so yes, all day.

  • +3

I've always wanted one, but I still think as there are limited places where you can fly them you would use them for a short while as a novelty and then it will just sit around not being used. At least $600 is better then $1500. Anyone have any of their own experience. Do you really use it that much.

    • +4

Fantastic drone, but you're right, I'm to lazy to actually use it much. Battery life isn't great either to record an event, such as a game of football. Still, this price is unreal, and I bought one right now for a present. Hope this helps. I'm voting with my cash.

    • +2

I don't use my spark that often for the very reasons you've outlined.

That said, it hasn't stopped me ordering the Mavic!

It's worth downloading this CASA approved app. Anywhere in Red /Orange you can't fly.

Ordered one, looks like the order has gone through although to be honest I'll be surprised if it gets fulfilled.

  • I kick myself every time the Bunnings drone is mentioned. Saw it very early on and couldn't be bothered going through the hassle of the refund lol. That being said, I didn't get an email confirmation from this, nor does it show in the "my orders" page, but the money has gone from the card? Anybody get an email?

    • +2

Yep got two emails. One from Officeworks and one from PayPal.

      • Well this is concerning. Thank you, just have to wait it out I guess.

        • +2

          Hi xxxx,

We need to manually confirm your order - this should not take more than 30 minutes to confirm. Once this is completed, we will send you an order confirmation email and start fulfilling/processing the order.

If you have any questions, please contact us referencing your order # xxxxxxxxx.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

          Warm regards,
          The Officeworks Team

Don't imagine this will end well.

          • +1

@AngryAlfred: Did you get an email with track order? When you click on it it says order confirmed.

            • @TomGum: No, this is the only email I received. I try to put the order number from the above email in here and I get:

The tracking number you have entered is invalid, please enter your Officeworks order number. Your order number can be located on your Officeworks order confirmation, or alternatively can be accessed via the 'My Account' section of the website

Doesn't look good for me, hopefully pans out well for a few people though.

          • @AngryAlfred: They probably have a failsafe in the online system to prevent scams and price errors where if something sells an unexpectedly high volume they have to manually accept each order. Bunnings needs to get around that

          • @AngryAlfred: I think it will be honoured, and I think Mavic Mini pricing forced them to offload the old Mavic. This is what it says to me:

            Backorder
Estimated collection on Wednesday, 11th of December, 2019
            Order confirmed

Imagine if Black Friday Price is $495.00?

    mwahahaha

    • +4

I think we are pretty safe this won't happen

    • +5

Buy it on Friday and return the one from this deal, or am I missing something?

  • +1

Still available. This is the projector all over again

  • ordered 1 - thanks OP

  • +3

Purchased a mavic mini combo a week ago, now this….Must stop looking at ozbargain!!!

    • Yeah you might make a saving on an item, but if you didn't really intend to buy one in the first place its not really a saving. Having said that at least the purchase wasn't on RRP, so its not as bad.

  • Just ordered see what happens

  • +1

Nothing in stock around Brisbane with all stores showing delivery as 09/12.

    • But wait,…..don't you prefer them in stock around Melbourne instead?

  • contemplating buying drone since last year or so. Bought the Bunnings deal but was gifted the voucher. Pulled plug on this one. will wait and see what happens.

  • +1

Let's see what happens, if they do fulfil order you can return item in 30 days

    • +1

We can do full refund questions right? So nothing to lose?

      • +1

Yep part of their 30 day change of mind policy

  • Ripper deal, but 3k+ clicks - couldn't imagine they have that kind of stock. Should of been marked OOS if they had the stock levels properly placed in the system. They also aren't bunnings, doubt we get $250 vouchers :(

    • Officeworks and Bunnings both have the same parent company (i think) - Wesfarmers - so one can dream…

  • +2

Hmmm impulsed purchased this plus Voltron lego.. $850 worth of stuff i didnt really need

    • Haha, "stuff" and all Toys at that.

  • +3

I'll eat my hat if this is honoured.

I feel like we are facing a Déjà vu moment.

If they sold out quickly, then there would be a chance, but they have simply sold too many now for it to be a credible clearance line.

I hope I'm wrong, I have a spark that I rarely use. I love to pair that with a mavic that I'm sure I'd also rarely use!

  • Order one hope they honour it …

I just got an email from OW

We need to manually confirm your order-this should not take more than 30minutes to confirm.Once this is completed, we will send an order confirmation email and start fulfilling/processing the order.

    Is this normal?

  • Tried to buy - getting There was an error processing your order. Please try again or contact customer service centre on 1300 OFFICE (633 423).

    • +2

Oh and now tried the 'new checkout' and got it to go through :D

  • -1

Do they just offer a voucher if they cant honor the price due to price error or how do you go about getting them to give some sort of compensation?

    • They dont have to do anything

  • anyone got confirmation email?

    • +1

      Yes, have received confirmation email.

      • +1

yeah just found it in spam

  • It would be even a better deal but #ash2000 said that there is no control remote

    • +2

      troll?

      • +1

        No…. Not a troll!

This deal was originally listed as deal for the Spark.

I replied to the fact that spark has no controller.

The op then changed the product to mavic!

        • I read your initial comment and the replies like a normal person, was asking if op of this comment was a troll.

          • +2

@razorite: My initial comment relateding to the original listing (spark) has now been deleted! Praise be.

          • @razorite: Yep, I was teasing him up, you just made it even better haha

            Winning

            • @UrbionPT: teasing him up = winning huh ????

              • @ozhunter68: Yes I'm a simple person and winning referred to the fact that he/she didn't realise I was trolling

                • @UrbionPT: Fair enough, I'm simple too and prefer humor that is not so sarcastic or getting one up over others.

    • +1

      There is a controller

  • +2

Would of loved this years ago when I was younger but bought anyway. Figure I could use it to inspect my roof for damaged tiles, holes, etc. Couple of years back we had a hole in the roof that nobody knew about, by the time it was discovered it caused about $3,000 in damages as it had rotten/damaged the timber/pine. It's likely a price error anyway.

  • +2

Doesn't leave me with confidence when you can checkout with 999 units at a cool $623,376

  • can't resist, bought. At this price.
Going overseas will try to claim GST.

Maybe a good present for a special person

  • What's the standard price?

    • +1

Over $1000 for sure, Mavic Pro is advance than Mavic Air
and Mavic Air is still selling at $1200 (discounted price lowest at around $999)

Only that not many places are selling Mavic Pro anymore
after DJI released Mavic Pro 2 last year

      • Actually in terms of remote stability, speed and distance, the Mavic Pro is the clear winner here. However the Mavic Air has more modes and more obstacle sensors so that may be something to factor in if you're a beginner pilot. I have owned both models and got rid of them after a couple of months due to not using them enough.
They will become a novelty if you don't travel enough for photography or use them as a handheld gimbal. Even with the Mavic 2 Pro, the reviews state that the obstacle avoidance and overall stability is poor for the $2K price tag. Let's hope the Mavic 3 doesn't have these issues.

  • +3

Is it just wishful thinking that as this is the original of the DJI drones, and with all of the new versions out or coming out, that it's finally time that this model went on clearance? Perhaps Officeworks have struck a deal with DJI and are just getting ahead of Black Friday? Anyway, bought 2 :)

    • Also with the new upcoming rules, I don’t think these can sell.

      • Which rules in particular, Registration?

        • Yes and they have not disclose how much it’s going to cost.

  • Black Friday around the corner. I'm hanging in there.

  • This is 1st gen and is not surprised with this price.

    • Yeap fully agree, hardly anyone else sells the Mavic Pro. JB and HN certainly don’t..

      • +2

Still sells on ebay for around $800 used. 900-1k brand new (I wouldn't buy to resell as you're going to be slogged with 15% fees + shipping costs + there will probably be more people selling which will lower the price + run the risk of getting scammed etc) but a good price if you want to actually use the thing.

    • +1

Can you show me where I can get 1st gen for the same price so I can grab more?

  • -2

    Gen 2 is out!!

    • +3

It’s been out for over a year, I’m sure everyone here knows that.

      • Yes, but even the Mavic 2 Pro has its issues. I would hold out till Mavic 3 unless you really need it. Trust me.

        • +1

Yeah, I’m not keen on spending $2000+ on a drone, so I’ll take the original Pro, issues and all, for $624.

  • +7

    Great drone Great Price!

I actually just sold my Mavic Pro with extra battery for $900 in eBay last week
Sold it just so to buy the Mavic Mini instead

With the $600 price point, this definitely well worth the price
Mavic Pro is the first foldable drone in DJI
It also can shoot 4k, long distance remote controller, obstacle avoidance, object tracking etc.
My only issue is the weight (still too bulky especially going on a trip where you also need to bring the adapter)

Mavic Mini is super light weight (249g) and can be charged with Micro USB (QC 2.0)
I also usually fly in open space so obstacle avoidance is not a must

Still, wish everyone interested will be able get the stock fulfilled! Good Luck guys!

  • I am waiting for the Mavic 3 announcement in Jan (stock follows through a while later)… I hope it's a better version of Skydio 2 so you can actually use it to track.

This however is a awesome price!

    • +1

I would say in terms of active tracking, Skydio 2 is still better than Mavic Pro (even Mavic Pro 3 i believe)
Skydio was started as a University project on Moving Object Active Tracking calculations
So in terms active tracking, Skydio 2 wins!

However, in terms of all round High quality drone, DJI is still the market leader
When it comes to Mavic Pro 2 vs Skydio 2
I would say both have their Pros
Skydio 2 is great for Active / Object tracking
eg. Skydio 2 knows the best flying path to trace moving objects even there are many obstacles ahead

DJI is great in terms of still or smooth video shooting
eg. video footage is extremely clear and smooth even with fast flying speed, strong head winds etc

So at the end, it is a question of what you want the drone to be used for
For active tracking / sports etc, go for Skydio 2
For video or photos shooing, go for Dji Mavic Pro 2

    • +1

      Skydio 2 is fire

  • Anyone tried to get a price match from JB?

  • +1

    Skydio 2 specs look amazing…. https://www.skydio.com/

    • 775gms!

      • Mavic Pro is 743gms and Mavic 2 is over 900gms!!

  • +1

    I'm gonna be in trouble…

  • +1

The rule for drone over 250g.
    https://www.casa.gov.au/drones/register

    • Thats why Mavic Mini kicks in :)

  • just wondering where can you actually fly this thing? obviously not in the suburbs, beaches, parks.

so am guessing just in the bush?

    • Download the opensky app. Will tell you everything you need to know.

  • +5

Thanks, didnt need it so I bought one.
