  • Is this the busiest time for the OzB site in terms of site traffic and/or deals posted for the calendar year?

    • +64

i would say that about 50% of the "black friday sales" are rubbish

      • +1

Agreed. I mostly look out for the big electronic store sales eg JB, HN, Amazon to see what I can snaffle up.

        • Of course November, the Shopping month leading in to XMAS!😜

      • +5

The number of posts makes it even more overwhelming. So much scrolling to find anything useful on the deals page. Far fewer than 50% of the posts are deals. Most are listing sales without any actual deals posted.

Yes. Black Friday 2018 beat Boxing Day 2018 for the most page views by some margin. I would expect more of the same this year.

      Black Friday 2018: 3,172,826 page views (~ 28% more)
Boxing Day 2018: 2,473,450 page views

Black Friday 2017 only narrowly beat Boxing Day 2017 for the most page views.

      Black Friday 2017: 2,462,265 page views (~ 2% more)
Boxing Day 2017: 2,406,724 page views

Black Friday 2016 was narrowly beaten by Boxing Day 2016 for the most page views for the year.

      Black Friday 2016: 1,585,567 page views (~ 3% less)
Boxing Day 2016: 1,634,488 page views

Black Friday 2015 was fairly easily beaten by Boxing Day 2015 for the most page views for the year.

      Black Friday 2015: 1,372,865 page views (~ 13% less)
Boxing Day 2015: 1,573,353 page views

Click Frenzy Go Wild (November event) is generally the 3rd highest.

      • +3

        Wow thanks for the stats

      • +1

I'm probably the only one that read it from the bottom, then up haha.

Click Frenzy 'bargains' are a joke I'd presume clicks will continue to fall each event. Only unique thing are those Flash deals with absurd questions. CF should just be classed as a Competition already! 😜

      • +1

That’s pretty interesting, though I think Boxing Day people are travelling hanging out with family so less likely to be online.

I found the deals for Black Friday 2018 better than Boxing Day 2018 actually.

      • +1

Probably half of the page views are ozbargainers clicking refresh every 5 sec.

      • +5

Black Friday 2019: 3,921,045 page views. Needless to say that was a record day, beating the previous record set by Black Friday 2018 by some 750,000 page views (19% increase).

  • +1

    Thanks @hamza23
I am so looking forward to the deals being discussed on this page.

I posted this in the deals but mods unpublished it (I dont mind). I hope putting it down here helps ppl hold off their purchases till black friday for the advertised stores.

  • Hopefully ebay do 10% or higher sitewide discount this year >.<

    • Hoping for another 10-12% cashrewards/shopback cashback deal too

  • +1

  • I'm a new poster and I'm not sure if this website that is collating IOS gaming deals for Black Friday is worth a deal submission? https://www.appunwrapper.com/2019/11/21/thanksgiving-and-bla…

  • Whats everyones take on the Ebay plus deals how popular are they and what are the chances of scoring the AirPods for $99?

  • +1

    OzBargain is getting OzBargained!
    Can't deal.

  • where are the monitors! :(

    • Where are the dronesssssss :(

  • +8

    So far it's quite underwhelming.

    • Similiar last year. Australia just doing do it the same. I loaded up on nerf guns for gifts and house cleaning products. Whoopee!

  • Anyone spotted a deal for Skins compression tights?

  • +5

It's 12pm now. I can't believe amazon sitewide 12%/20% cashback is still missing

    • Yep, 20% sitewide last year, this year…… just the normal rate.

Even then, Amazon has failed to fire….only very modest discounting compared to last year.

  • where should I buy from scrabble and chess? and possibly some more board games to buy? who offers the best prices for today?

  • Underwhelmed…

Was expecting to buy 85" Sony today but it's about $600 more expensive than a few weeks back…

  • Any good deals on X570 motherboards and coolers for the 3950X?

  • Cant see any deals for a Garmin Fenix 5 Plus series or Fenix 6. Only the already existing deal for a 2 and a bit year old 5X.

    Any one seen anything?

  • Any eBay deals other than shopback 5 dollars back on a 5 dollar purchase?

  • +1

I've got Amazon dispatch notices and Cashrewards sale tracked emails coming in thick and fast. 12 emails in the last 45 minutes!

  • Anyone else starting to vomit? Dropped $450 on computer parts and left it at that (I'll get that back when I sell the old one).

I wanted a Google Hub and the Edifier speakers but didn't really need those…

So many deals it's not funny

    • +3

Really? I'm yet to see a decent one.

      • 100 L'or pods for 30c each (even less with cashback) delivered! NUTS!

Told my friend because he uses them.

So much I want to buy but just really need to save my bikkies

  • +1

The only great bargain is that PPD13 glitch, which I missed

    • +2

Switch Lite for $198.07 shipped FTW.

  • -1

Anyone find and decent deals on Apple products? their instore offer of gift cards is a bit of a piss take1 especially since JB Hifi are offing the same value with 10% off. I went into buy an iMac today tried to get a price match with JB hifi plus the gift card they wouldn't have a bar of it…..told them Id be better off with the 10% off at JB than the gift card.

  • +11

Definitely very underwhelming, especially compared to last year. I’m glad I waited for the switch, but nothing else really worth the wait.

    • +3

Wonder if it's related to the falling Aussie dollar.

    • +2

My thoughts exactly, no amazing deals this year. Last year they were everywhere including some killer Amazon cash backs.

    • +2

yep, most deals from amazon is kinda meh, it's not better than their prime day discount.

  • +1

Is it safe to assume that anything electronic worth buying will be avail all weekend or at the very least on Cyber Monday?

Any rush to buy electronics today?

    • +1

Depends on exactly what it is. Buying things on discount is about pulling the trigger when you are happy with the price. Sometimes it's a risk.

  • Pretty happy I got a Kindle Paperwhite for $150 and Samsung galaxy tab s6 for $640 or whatever it was.

  • Saw some posts on a recent UA "sale" (usual 30% off) where other ozbargs were predicting up to 60% like last year for bf/cm. So far just another 30% sale. Anyone expecting this to change for CM or is this the best we'll see this year?

    • Very dissapointed with Under Armour this year.

  • +1

Hamza you are MVP for replying with products lol

But yeah BF sucked this year, I'm tired of seeing all the Note10 deals will puke soon

  • Waiting to pull the trigger on a Shield TV (my MiBox is giving me the irrits) but so far this black Friday has been pretty underwhelming in general.

  • So cyber Monday it predominantly online sales yeah??

    • Would this then be part of the paid media that your organisation represents ?

    • How much would we get paid?
      "Exposure" doesn't count.

      • +1

To be honest, I'll put my hand up to talk about my wonderful experience with price jacking for free. If everyone on Ozbargain did the same, ebay would probably listen for once.

  • +6

Where are all the cyber Monday sales! Super underwhelmed at the hdd deals.

  • Merged from Any One Pick up Any Good Deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

I personally thought the $50 Shopback 1 hour special on Saturday between 5-6pm was an awesome deal!

    • +1

$99 airpods in the ebay 100 unit sale thing. That's it.

Otherwise it was a dud for me. PC parts I want (mostly storage) saw barely any discounts other than the 20% cashback for amazon flash sale, which I missed :(

      • I thought that was a "fake" deal? 🙄

        • +1

Definitely fake. I think the delivery dispatch notification they sent me this morning is fake too.

    • +1

switch from amazon, 349 with cashback
      games and sd card
lego, wasnt too cheap but higher cashback
      baby car seat, 100 off
      adidas shoes

I think I should stop shopping …. lol

    • I picked up a viral infection just before my overseas trip

    • +1

      Redecorated my house with Muji
Half price shoes at Myer stacked with discount Myer gift cards
      Bought a Cybertruck
      Wayyyyy too much biltong

    • +1

Got a new router for $150 Asus RT-AC68U at Bing Lee

    • +1

      Nothing.
I wasn't looking for anything specific, and nothing grabbed me as a real bargain that I just had to buy.

      • +1

Same, I was thinking of maybe getting some new work outfits, but I noticed the discounts being offered for Black Friday were more or less the same as the usual discounts that they do every week. I have noticed that many retail clothing stores seem to be in perpetual 30% off store wide mode.

I just ended up stashing my money away.

    • +4

      Very underwhelming sales this year.

    • +2

Pixel 4 128GB for $988. Or $788 because I got a gift card and money for my birthday 😁

    • 24 bottles of red wine for $140 (worth "$480")

    • couldn't even get a macbook pro for 20% off. wish i had 10% ebay GCs, would of brought price down to $1529.1.

      terrible sales.

    • got a note 10 phone for $850 waiting for 5% cashback confirmation
