  • Anyone know if JB Hi-Fi will price match this?

    • +2

      They won't price-match a deal requiring a coupon code.

    • +1

And they won't price-match against anyone on eBay, even if it's a legitimate competitor like Gamesmen or EB Games.

      • Yes they do as I showed the eBay price at a stor I was close to and was told we will beat it

  • +1

Is this a great price for VR? Amazon has the same bundle for $309. Wondering if it’s reasonable to expect a better deal tomorrow/Monday..

    • +2

I believe it's an all time low.

Big W will have it for $299 starting tomorrow, but they will also have limited stock.

    • +1

Amazon had the "Mega Bundle" at $280 in their July sale. Which looks basically the same but with different games

(Headset, camera, Doom VFR, Skyrim VR, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Wipeout Omega Collection and PlayStation VR Worlds.)

      • Thanks. Just purchased this one. On review, for 5 games and the headset, can’t see it being significantly cheaper I guess..

    • +5

It is but keep in mind it is pointless unless you buy the Move controllers too which are an extra $100

      • Does it not work without them? Do you just use a controller?

        • +4

It does work without them, but its not a properly immersive vr experience, you're essentially just playing the games with a controller like normal but with a headset, and a lot of the games that come out for it are made to be used with the move controllers

        • +3

Have PSVR. Note that Astro Boy just needs the regular controller and it's fantastic. Can easily bide some time with that while waiting to pickup some Move controllers.

  • +1

Similarly their PSVR 'starter pack' works out to be about $240 with discount code!

  • +4

Really want to get on board with this but by the time you add the move controllers it gets quite expensive.

    • Move controllers…

Edit: oh wow, looks like a sex toy. I can't see these improving the Skyrim or resident evil experience so I'll hold off for a bit on them

      • +1

Lol… Sex toy controllers for a better Skyrimming experience.

    And purchased.
Let's hope it gets delivered before the girl checks the account. Typical blah blah home loan blah blah

  • Dang, that's a lot of gaming for those bucks

  • +6

For people considering jumping into VR, be aware you'll also need controllers to get the full effect.

  • +1

Any cheap options on picking up the Move controllers?

    • have the same question!

  • Quick review for those getting into VR. I have owned both PSVR and Oculus Quest.

Astro Bot: Rescue Mission (Full Game Download) - great for kids. May cause slight nausea for adults
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR (Full Game Download) - Minecraft graphics gave me headache
Resident Evil 7 (Full Game Download) - This wasn't part of the bundle. Haven't experienced
Everybody's Golf VR (Full Game Download) - Fun for a few hours.

    • How do the two compare for quality? Quest/PSVR?

      • +1

Graphics is definitely better on the PSVR, but the FOV is way better on the Quest causing less headaches. PSVR Headset is a pain to adjust

    • +1

Having both makes you my new favourite person!

I like the idea of having some freedom. I like that with a few workarounds you can Beat Saber on the Quest working with custom tracks. I like the idea of portability, but I honestly don't see myself taking it out of the house anyway.

For their prices, which would you recommend?

      • Oculus is great fun for VR. PSVR is too much work. You can easily tell the ps motion controller delay vs Oculus tracking. Beat saber Custom songs on Oculus was real easy.

        Cordless VR all the way

        • Did you get the custom Beat Saber songs working? Found a couple of methods on YouTube. Any fear of bricking it? I would have never thought this would be running Android.

          • +1

@BadGiraffe: Sidequest makes it all nice and easy. All download, drag and drop. You would never brick it unless you've followed the steps incorrectly

            • @Jackkkkkk: That settles it. Christmas present for "the family" is sorted. Thank you!

  • Can u use this headset for the PC as I'm looking at purchase Half Life Alyx VR next year

    • Not really, buy a lightly used CV1 or Rift S and it'll be better than this for PC

  • Was waiting for jbhifi or bigw on BF but got one of these

  • +1

A 2nd hand PS4 pro I bought came with all the vr gear and a vr game called Blood and truth. I've honestly been blown away buy how well it works! Insanely immersive. Looking to get a few more games for it soon.

  • +11

I would advise anyone looking to buy PSVR to think very carefully first, i bought the bundle last black friday and it made me violently ill when using it so decided to sell it, I couldn't re-sell it no matter how low I went as there were so many people trying to sell one, in the end I took a massive loss and sold it to EB Games, if you suffer from any kind of motion sickness then do yourself a favor and save your pennies.

Oh and a word of warning…..if you do get one….DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TRY AND PLAY DIRT RALLY, that game screwed me up for about 3 days after playing for only 20 minutes, i couldn't play any sort of gaming or even watch TV without feeling dizzy and wanting to puke.

    • +1

Edited for the people downvoting, I probably worded it wrong, just trying to warn people that it can mess you up if you cant handle it like me.

    • +3

I had the same experience as you especially with driving games. Sold mine after a week.

    • would be good if there was demo booths we can test out before buying

    • If dirt rally made you sick.. try Wipeout VR hahaha

  • -2

Can I use this with Xbox One S?

    • No, PS4 only

      • I thought PC was possible

    • +1

      Lol

  • Thanks OP.
Being waiting on a good deal.
    Bought.

  • Just got one at jb hifi $262

    • More info please?

      • Did they price match?

    • Which store? More info please

    • Price match? Which store?

      • Much easier to get them to price match Amazon who just price match this

  • -3

Don't do it. Nah seriously, don't do it. Otherwise expensive door stop in a months time.

Get ready for an influx of "hardly used, don't have time" on gumtree and eBay lol.

  • +1

Amazon has matched the coupon price, should hopefully make price matching easier for those with JB Hi-Fi gift cards:

  • Guys I never had any Ps4, I want to buy Ps4 pro 1T tomorrow at Big w,

will you recommend I buy this too?

Can I use Woolworths gift card tomorrow to but Ps4 pro?

Do we have all in 1 bundle?

  • Yes wish cards can be used at big w

  • great deal on the aim controller here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500624

  • Anyone seen Black Friday deals for move controllers?

  • Confirmed price match for Amazon deal at JB Maribyrnong Home plus two move controllers combined for $362.65 (price match + 2x move controllers for $100) 🙌🙌

Although told that they would only honor the deal until the Amazon deal runs dry

    • Where is the deal for 2 move controllers for $100? Any link? Can you share an invoice?

      • Just haggle at JB, told the guy that if he could do me a deal it would save me waiting until they're on sale and he knocked it down from $119 to $100. They're usually always able to take money off items. This was at JB Home Maribyrnong

        • Can you share a receipt? i am heading there now and that would really help. Cheers

          • @JaeTee: Sorry, have only just seen this now. Hope you managed a good deal

  • Heya guys. Thought Cybermonday might bring something a little extra. Nothing on the horizon? I now have the opposite of buyers remorse. :)

    • @Barblade I'm in the same boat :( I was waiting for a decent ps4 pro deal. Managed to snag the big w ebay plus bargain last on Saturday. But by then all the decent vr deals have sold out. Bugger

      • Next time I'll jump on the Friday rather than wait on Mediocre Monday. :)

  • +1

    Got mine delivered on Monday.
    Loving it!!
    Thanks again OP.
