      • And keeping screenshots!

    • Didnt help, I still get the stupid $5 voucher per month with a min spend of $50 for a year. No deal.

    • Ooh, thanks.

They may catch you out with "The Offer is only available to users who have an eBay account with a registration address in Australia, and who have a relevant purchase history (‘Eligible Users’)."

But hey I'm sure theyd refund or honour it, since you saw the offer and clicked through, as was required. Screenshots would def come in handy for later problems.

If you see the offer/banner on ebay.com.au then you are an Eligible User according to T&Cs.

        • So they have two competing clauses it seems. Hopefully the click through one takes precedence!

    • Questions:

      1) Have you had a trial or paid ebayplus membership before? If so, which one?

      2) Once clicking on relevant link, did you only something about the $50 code (IE "Your $50 code will be delivered via email..") after puchase? Or was there a previous mention of $50 code?

      • +1

        Answers:

        1) Yes. Last year, same offer (1 month trial & then applied with a voucher).

        2) Yes, just the message. No previous mention but the heading on top of the page.

IMPORTANT - CANCELLING PAYPAL AUTO PAYMENT

As an additional steps to cancelling your eBay Plus subscription make sure (if you paid with PAYPAL) that you cancel the automatic subscription payment.
Cancelling your eBay Plus Membership does not in anyway change the agreement you have with Paypal giving express permissions for eBay to charge you again in a year's time. You need to manage this in your Paypal account to ensure you don't get charged again.

      a) Log into Paypal
      b) Click on the 'COG image'
      c) Click on 'Payments'
      d) Click on 'Manage Automatic Payments'
      e) Find eBay Inc. (on the left side menu), when you click on it will show the last payment charge (so look for $48.99).
      f) Click on 'Cancel' (button) which will then ask you to confirm
      g) Once confirmed the automatic payment will no longer be active and an email sent to your account confirming this.

    • 4 So I cleared cookies

This also works in incognito mode on Chrome

  • I have waited for a month to get my $50 giftcard, eBay chat told me they have paused the previous promotion and yet they are running another one.

Asked eBay to cancel my eBay Plus and refund me back. Now I have to wait for my refund!

  • Can confirm I was able to activate the $39 deal and then come back and get this deal

    • Hmm same happened to me, said $39 and then got the message about the $50 voucher after, but I paid via PayPal and just saw in my email that I was actually charged $48.99

      • Same :o

        • Emailed them and got a reply saying that deal actually ended in Aug, so not eligible. Hopefully the $50 gift card still comes through because that message definitely came up after paying. Also noticed today that I got the take $5 off voucher ($50 min. spend) deal you get every month though

          • @Vivk: This is such a crock, the message that appears before signing up clearly states $39. I'm in the same boat. Did anyone happen to grab a screenshot?

            • @fLaMePrO: I only have a screenshot of the $50 gift card offer and the pop up message about the voucher code, unfortunately. I tried asking though chat too and they basically said the same thing, it was an expired offer, so not valid unless the join date was during the offer.

I’m also still waiting for that $50 code, other people on here who signed up on the same day as me have said they’ve received theirs already. Asked eBay about it via chat and they said wait 10 business days, so if it doesn’t arrive by tomorrow, I might just cancel and request a refund.

My account did get the $5 voucher every month offer, but requires a $50 min. spend, so not worth it for me.

      • Same. I got $39 and $50 offer combined, the page says normally 49 but now you pay 39 only, paid, see confirmation voucher will be sent, but then PayPal shows debit $48.99.

Maybe not. Your username scares me😉

Thank you. Worked for me as well (previous EBay + user) after signing out of the app.

My one is weird. I see the banner that says "Skip the Trial & Score a $50 eBay Giftcard"
I click on it but then it says.
Sorry, you're ineligible for this offer due to lack of purchase history. You can still unlock a range of exclusive offers & free delivery on millions of Plus items if you join eBay Plus.

Just Nice……..so advertises it but doesn't allow me to use! Why have the banner there at all! Very dodgy indeed and no doubt click bait in the hope of getting one to pay the full whack?

  • After pay through paypal, it stated

"Your $50 code will be delivered via email & to your eBay Messages in
the coming days, once your membership fees have been processed."

But no email confirmation of the $50 code.

    • Id message them afterwards, asking for the code, showing them the PayPal email, and screenshot of the banner you clicked, if you have it.

      • Thanks, just wondering does everyone got the same feedback.

I have screen shot as recommended by ops.

        thumbs up!

  • Got the same 'issue' said $39 but charged $48.99. Any ideas what to do next? What did you guys do? Cheers.

I got this issue. Whoever resolves please share your approach

      • Credit card reversal if you want to help them learn a lesson about false advertising.

  • Cannot figure how to get this deal. I have logged into my main account, partners account, two others and no luck. There's one account that looked like it worked but it was UK based and won't let me continue as currency is not in AUD and I couldn't change it. It seems like they are mocking me haha.

  • +1

Thanks OP - signed up for the deal and got the notification about voucher being sent by email. It's been two days and still no voucher though - has anyone got theirs yet?

    • +2

I asked today and they said within 10 business days according to https://pages2.ebay.com.au/plus/terms-and-conditions3

I’ve signed up, when will I receive my gift card?

  • I got email on the 6th Nov for this promotion. Clicked on "Take up offer" and it directed me to payment method page but I didn't see any mention about $50 voucher on the page. I think this email is from previous offer. Is it still valid? The T&C doesn't specify promotion period dates at all

    • +1

Same thing for me. But if you log out in the app, see the banner, click on it, log back in, it should show this.

  • +1

    Has anyone got the voucher?

    • Not I, said the fly.

    • Nothing for me yet.

UPDATE: Mine just came through now. Got the email notification moments ago.

    • +1

      got mine earlier today

  • UPDATE: Have also receive my email $50 voucher.
Wonder if they will send me the $30 one for not cancelling.

  • I got this offer showing today after not renewing my membership. At end of sign up I got message that I will receive $50 gift card in a while. The offer originally showed for me before but when I cancelled my membership it disappeared, perhaps because the membership still had some months to play out after cancellation.

  • I haven't received my voucher. Anyone else

    • Same boat. I signed up on the same day (3/12/19) as a few others on here that have already gotten theirs. Asked eBay about it through chat and they just said wait 10 business days, which marks tomorrow.

Did your account get that monthly $5 off deal? It just appeared when I was checking out something in my cart. Hoping it doesn’t cancel out the $50 gift card, cuz the min. spend of $50 kills it for me; if the gift card code doesn’t arrive by tomorrow then I’ll probably cancel and request a refund.

    • Applied mid December and still did not get mine ($50). Emailed their support two weeks ago, they promised I'll get the voucher in one week. Nothing happened. Emailed them once more. They scammed me three years ago in a similar way, but won't get away this time.

      • After a couple of messages to their support, finally got mine (after more than a month). It has an expiry of 30 days and can be used in only one transaction. In worst case scenario, I'll use it in Coles ebay store.

  • Any update on the $39 vs $48.99 issue?

    • I have not done anything regarding this yet. I do intend to query ebay on this soon however and I did take screen shots. Anyone else done anything regarding this?
      Cheers.

  • I was targeted with the 50 gift card in November, can I still take advantage of it now? There's no dates given of offer expiry anywhere in the ToS. Anyone know?

    • I went on live chat to ask this question after receiving the email on 24/12/19. Apparently the offer expires 10 days after receiving the email. Though if you see it on the eBay home page, it will apply even if you did not receive an email. 🤷‍♂️

Try clear your cookies or use incognito mode then check the home page like Griefbringer did.

      • Cheers for a reply. I aswell got another email on the 24th and took advantage of it :D. Got my code on within the day aswell.

Received the $50 voucher just now via email. Less than 5 days after signing.
Now I'm waiting for them to fix the $48.99 charged instead of $39. If you do chat just ask to transfer to eBay plus team. Get ready to send your screenshots.

    • Thanks for the heads up ChiMot. So that I'm clear was this via chat (online) or phone call? Just unaware you can chat to eBay Plus as such.
      Thanks.

      • Online chat. They saw my screenshots but not sure what has happened (why I got charged 48.99) so they will investigate and come back to me.

    • Finally targeted with this offer in email this morning. Didn't take up before using logging out & back in method.

Clicked Take up Offer in email to see
normally costs AU$49 per year, but by joining now, you'll pay just AU$39 for your first year.

Will screenshot. Can't see how they could dispute their own offer - still showing for me.

      • And the other offer, the $50 eBay voucher?

        • $50 eBay voucher was the offer in today's email. Got same offer before by logging out & back in.

Came back to see if others have received a refund of the $10 extra charged.
Waiting on an outcome before signing up😉

Applied for this promo and cancelled right after I received notification that I'd receive the $50 voucher and that I could still enjoy the benefits of ebay plus until 16 December 2020. Looks like the payment didn't go through and ebay can't tell me where I can enjoy the benefits.

  • Never received the gift card.

    Any way to complain?

  • yey i got $11 profit (paid 39 received 50 voucher) i applied 2 offers (39 and 50) initially got charged 49 but they agree to refund 10

    Hello xxxxx,
This is a follow-up email in regards to the chat we had a few days ago.
I am sorry for taking to long to get back to you. I have only just got a response from our Marketing Promotions Team.
This has already been validated and we can confirm that you were eligible for the offer and should have only been charged $39 for the promotion.
Here's what I can do, I can generate a $10 voucher for you which will be active for 3 months and will have no minimum spend required. This code will only be usable once so you need to make sure to use it on an order which can maximise its whole amount. You can use it on any sellers which will give you an absolute amount off.
I just need your confirmation so I can generate it for you right away.
Thanks for your extended patience on this. Have a good day!

    Hi all,

Update on the '$39 but charged $48.99 via Paypal' issue.

Just did and online chat and showed them a screen shot of the promotional $39 cost and that was what I was suppose to pay.
They refunded my via a voucher of $10 which only can be used once with a 3 month validity only.
(Seemed easy enough, no arguments from their end to get this probably a few of these going around hence an SOP now.)

When stating that the expiry was short they said when I'm ready to purchase get back on the chat and quote the Ref No. of the chat and they will issue the $10 voucher.

Hope this helps anyone in the same boat.
    Thanks.

    • same with me ^. they also confirmed to me we can use that $10 with the $50 we get as the other offer. but cant stack with promo code 5% off,15% off etc

  • New query here.
Did anyone try and cancel the Ebay Plus service and was offer a $30 voucher to stay on?
I think I got that but no voucher appeared as such.
    Anyone?
    Thanks.
