R5-3500X GTX 1660 Ti Gaming PC: $721 + $29 Delivery @ TechFast

900
3500X-1660Ti-DEC

Hi folks

Firstly thanks to everyone who purchased a system during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. There were a lot of you. As a general progress update, we are making excellent headway into our orders and are still planning to be within 10 business days for the majority of systems and guaranteeing delivery before Christmas. There are of course exceptions to the 10 business day timing depending on the configurations, and some customers have been posting regarding this as is their right, so I would encourage anyone seeking an update to contact me directly via PM as I can't always see every comment and that is the best way to get a speedy resolution.

This deal effectively replaces the Black Friday 3500X 1660 Deal pricing wise, as our allocation of regular 1660s at that price has been exhausted for the time being. Our 1660 buy price was very low, so the 1660 Ti comes in +$114 more than our regular variant (which is +$15 more than previously listed, although the Ti hasn't been listed as an option for a couple of months now.) 1660 Ti brands may vary.

Any existing orders wishing to upgrade from the 1660 to the 1660 Ti are welcome to do so - the price is that $114. Please email [email protected] so I can track that there and issue invoices accordingly.

The other difference is that the Thermaltake/other branded case upgrades have all sold out for the year, so the available options are Leaper, Leaper Mid and Leaper Pro in white or black for the rest of 2019.

Spec: Ryzen 5 3500X | GTX 1660 Ti 6GB | 8GB 2666Mhz | 240GB 2.5" SSD | Biostar A320 MB | 550W PSU | Leaper Small Form Factor
** Popular Upgrade Options:** 16GB 2666MHz RAM: $69, Biostar B45M2 B350 Motherboard with m.2 and ability to take 3200MHz RAM: $39, SSD and PSU upgrades also available
Price: $721 after 3500X-1660Ti-DEC

  • How long will the Black Friday deals be going for. I want to buy one soon, for the 3800X deal.

    • +2

3800 will run a few more days. Others will be tweaked and reposted (different case etc)

  • +5

    Not bad good size

  • +3

    I have a 1660TI build from a previous deal & can’t recommend it enough.

    Buttery smooth & I play with a 2k monitor.

    Extremely pleased with it.

    • Thanks for the feedback!

    • what fps are u getting with games?

      • I mainly play destiny 2 & it’s a solid 75. (75 FPS monitor)

I played metro exodus and gta v a bit too, I don’t FPS count but they were smooth with no jarring whatsoever

  • any chance for another 3500X and GPU deal?

    • 2080 Super didn't sell at all. We don't have an abundance of other GPUs at this time of year other than 1650s and RX 570s.

      • +8

How about some heavily discounted 2080 supers?

  • Hi there, do you guys normally have these sorts of builds for sale when it's not holiday season? never bought from Techfast, but am considering it in the future

    • +5

Hmmm actually can't remember a week that a techfast deal hasn't been posted.. Lol

      • Now that you say it, I think you might be right. But are the builds offered during the year as good value as the ones offered during holiday season?

        • The guys that post deals including Luke seem to only really post one that will be good value.. but in the end it'll depend what your looking for and budget. I started building my pc's 20 years ago and in that time not many pc's built by the store ended up as cheap as the sum of the parts that made up the pc :) they tend to be right on the mark with TechFast … think of it as free assembly :)

          • @scud70: Sounds good, will keep an eye out for their deals then. Thanks!

  • Hey Luke, You posted a link to a different product in the description next to "Price". I think thats meant to be the coupon code? :)

    • Thanks!

  • Luke

Is there option for those of us (myself included) on the 3800x deal that paid $119 for the GTX 1660 Super to be upgraded to 1660 Ti? I only placed my order for the 3800x deal yesterday, and obviously not built yet. How much extra will it be to upgrade from the Super to Ti?

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB Graphics Card $119.00

    • Will be able to figure it out, sure.

      • If you can let us know how much extra here, that will be great. Thanks in advance :)

  • Say I was to order one of these systems within the next 2-3 days. When would I expect to receive it realistically?

    • Dispatch should be third week of December, receipt before Christmas.

    Any chances of a R5 3600 with 1660TI or 5700XT coming soon?

    • 3600 is always an upgrade option for $150 on 3500X deals. Any standalone deal would just be $150 more due to pricing differences - 3500X is our main line so 3600 is comparatively more due to quantities we buy.

I chose all the popular upgrades options

Case Upgrade: Leaper to Leaper Pro RGB M-ATX Case - Black 1 $39.00
    SSD Upgrade: 240GB 2.5" to 1TB m.2 [NVMe] Solid State Drive 1 $139.00
Bundled NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB Graphics Card 1 Free
Mobo Upgrade: AMD A320M to MSI Mortar B450 ATX Motherboard (Requires ATX Case) 1 $139.00
    PSU Upgrade: 550W to 750W 80+ Gold Power Supply 1 $119.00
    RAM Upgrade: 8GB [2400MHz] to 32GB [3200MHz] DDR4 RAM (2 x 16GB Modules) 1 $239.00
    CPU Upgrade: AMD Ryzen 5 3500X to R5 3600 Processor 1 $150.00

    $1,546.00

    $1385.00

Wouldn't 16GB RAM be the popular option? Most people don't need 32GB RAM..

      Also as mentioned by Luke:

3500X is our main line so 3600 is comparatively more due to quantities we buy.

Yeah it's great that Techfast can usually supply a built system cheaper than buying parts separately from different stores and building it yourself, but to expect that all the time is a bit much. With these guys you are getting it all from one place, built and tested, it's not really a fair comparison.

      • Still comes out more expensive by about 90$ with 16GB, and I'm not even choosing the no name brands from partpicker for some of the parts.

If I did it would be about $100 cheaper, not to mention you can easily get it 10% cheaper than prices listed in partpicker.

Doing the comparison as I'm in the market for a new PC but would prefer something a little bit better than base spec. If it's cheaper for me to build it myself it's not a bargain to me right? If you don't no how to build a pc and happy with the case that's an oven and happy with a no name power supply, sure it's a great deal. I've actually up voted most if not all their deals for that reason.

    • I don't know why you chose an ATX motherboard on an mATX case, this build you selected isn't even possible in the first place. And the deal is for the 3500X so obviously comparatively the 3600 is more expensive. Also don't know why you would need 32GB of RAM for a budget-midrange PC.

For the SSD getting the stock 240GB one and just buying an 860 EVO on sale with cashback brings the price even lower. If you're adding on literally everything of course it's going to be expensive when the addons are not discounted.

They don't really have any deals for the mid-range between this and the 2800X, so if you really want something in between, building yourself is definitely going to be the better option but at the base tiers that they have it's a decent deal. (You've pretty much doubled the cost of the original deal with the customisation)

      • Both B450s are MATX. If it says ATX somewhere I'll need to change it.

      • -1

B450 mortar is mATX, unless msi have their spec page incorrect.

Yes upgrades will make the deal not worthwhile, that's why I did the comparison. Looks likely I'll be building my own PC.

    • Only their base configuration is cheap. And you have to put up with:
      - cheap Chinese PSU
      - ugly plastic case - yep they still doing it
      - Slow ram
      - whatever cheap brand graphics card they decide
      - no activated OS

  • Great price, though any chance there’d be a way to upgrade the gpu to a rx 5700?

    • +6

Bit more complicated as it requires a case upgrade, so I wouldn't offer that GPU where the base case doesn't fit, in case people miss that and it gets through to build time and suddenly they need to pay more for a case upgrade. I'll do a 3500X 5700 / XT deal soon with a base larger case.

      • i would like that

      • are you going to do it b4 xmas?

  • Ouch. $119 for a 80+ PS upgrade :(

  • Tossing up between this deal or the 3800x deal.

I'd want to up the ram to 16GB of 3200Mhz which requires the mobo upgrade which puts it a bit closer to the 3800x price. I'll mainly be using it for work which will include a bit of photo editing, streaming media to the TV and very casual gaming as I mainly game on consoles and I barely have time for that nowadays.

The Black Friday/Cyber Monday 3800X deal has now expired. A new 3700X deal has just been posted: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/503374 and I will likely be posting a 3900X deal this evening or tomorrow.

      • Cheers Luke, I'll take a look. Must have expired just after I posted :D

      • And that's what I get for hesitating… the 3800x seemed like a better deal. Oh well.

        • Unfortunately our supplier agreement for 3800X at 3700X pricing expired with the deal.

          • @luketechfast: No worries, I might just wait to see what the new year holds. I'm not in any rush. Cheers.

  • 3800x is no more just pcik this one

  • I just want another 3500X and 5700XT deal - I missed out on the Black Friday deal.

    • +1

Should be able to do in time for Xmas delivery.

  • When does this deal end?

    • No current plans to end in the next couple of days - can't guarantee after that.

      • Do you know how many days the PC takes to arrive?

        • We're anticipating 10 business days. Systems purchased now will arrive before Christmas.

          • @luketechfast: If I purchased this week would it arrive before Xmas? Thanks :)

            • @vccox: Cutting very close for this system unless it's today. I'll reply to your PM about what we can guarantee in a sec.

    • +1
