    I was one of the lucky ones that managed to purchase the new/retail earphones when eBay turned 20 and had it for $20.

  • To add insult to injury, I haven't received my one and only order and today they charged me for the second time.

  • Only the right works whilst on a phone call. The left dropped off after 10 minutes prior to a firmware update. They took my money. I got the refurbed one.

      I read that only the right works for phone calls.

      I got the refurb also. The charge sat on pending for about a week then 2 days after delivery it disappeared, got em for free.

      Only issue i've found is random popping sounds when not listening to anything.

  • Received refurbished version, updated software too. However, still have video sync problem. What do others think? It might be heavily discounted but with sync issue, I think it's a waste of $79.95.

    • Noticed this issue when using with my TV. Don't plan on doing that, but just thought i'd test it out. No big issue for me as the main use will be for music whilst walking. I think they're a bargain for $80. Sound is great and aside from the popping sound issue i'm very happy with them.

    Received yesterday after a delay courtesy of AusPost. Definitely refurbed, small hair in one bud and dead flat battery. Currently updating after a quarter charge. Credit card charge popped up again for last Wednesday, presumably the day they shipped, it definitely wasn't there over the weekend, so may have been 'hidden' by the bank while pending.
    Will walk the dog this arvo to test the sound etc!

    Received mine today - it's brand new in sealed retail pack and totally free (CC authorisation disappeared last week)! Perfect x'mas gift in perfect timing :) Love ya, BOSE!!!

    • Nice! Did you receive the black colour? Does it say 'Refurbished' on the invoice? Wondering if it's just a luck of the draw for who gets new ones.

  • No wonder they have hundreds of returns, audio is great but audio latency is god awful.

        • They have their trial it and if you don't love it etc.. free return within 30 days. What an absolute kick in the face after spending 2 hours on calls/writing messages just to receive a device that's built to be faulty.

    • Where did you experience audio latency?

      Youtube app is working fine for me, but games have this issue for me.

      • Almost all apps and seen a lot of people were having the same issue however primarily wanted these for use on PC and they need a external bluetooth audio receiver and decent ones don't come cheap

    Not bad for the price we've all paid, but I find I prefer my Sony in ear buds I bought for $50 ($99 RRP) from Amazon.

    For those looking to return the Bose, the Sony ones in my opinion have a much better fit, better bass and sound a lot better.

    They are bluetooth with each ear piece connected by 1 cable.

    Looks like none of us are getting these for free. BOSE took $79.95 out of my account yesterday after having the pending transaction disappear back in December.

    Anyone else?

      • They are just slow to process transactions. It will come. A rude shock it was given it is a few weeks past delivery now.

        • Why it is a shock? I am expecting they would charge me as some point of time and would happily pay the amount. At end of the day, you bought it at $79.95.

          • @xmchen: Because it was weeks after the order was delivered. Pending payment had disappeared, and I also had a new CC issued in that time (because my card was hacked just days after giving my details to Bose over the phone..hmmm). With all the hassle and time wasting that went on, and others also claiming to have got them for free, I thought maybe Bose just decided to let it slide as a good will type thing.

              @nubzy: the hacking is pretty bad and interesting. Others who claim they got it for free was due to what you are have experienced. I recognise Bose did not do good job when they charged you weeks later but you agreed to pay the amount when you gave them the details. My account has not been charged but. I actually called them before Xmas and they said that my payment has beeen processed but I have not seeing them showing on my account. I am expecting it will show up on my account at some point. It's not going to be a shock to me.

  • Is there any way to fix the audio delay when watching video?

    • Either they fixed it with new firmware or i am too old to notice the latency.. i dont see a delay with mine..

    • Be sure the firmware is up to date. Im quite sure their app is what fixes the delay some apps better than others. This is a common issue with true wireless unless they support aptX low latency and they don't. This is the reason why I'm returning mine absolutely no way around it for windows 10.

    • Very curious if anyone really got their order for free. This thread seems to have died. I thought I did, but it wasn't to be :(

      This news is not really surprising though. Their customer service and whole operation is a mess.

    • Most people probably buys their headphoens online or from HN/JB anyway. Last time I was at their shop over a weekend, I was the only one there for 15mins.

  • I use mine exclusively with my phone. My right ear starts to hurt after a few minutes. My left ear is comfy. The wing tip seems to put a lot of pressure on the cartilage. Pity I can't use the left one alone. Ok with phone calls till a breeze starts blowing. I guess I'll live with it for $80.

  • Merged from Just got charged by Bose 2 months after purchase (SoundSport Free Wireless Headphones)

    I bought the refurb Bose SoundSport Free Wireless Headphones back on 5/12/19 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/503390) and received them on 16/12/19.

    Bose now charged my credit card for the full amount on 5/2/20. Not complaining but it is a little late.

    Anyone else got charged recently?

      • I just got charged today again, even though they already took money out last month.

    We have recently reviewed this open billing issue and are correcting it by processing the charge to your payment card for your original purchase amount of $79.95. Please be assured that this is not a duplicate charge, as the previously authorised amount was never settled.
