    • I am in Sydney. Got no invoice, no aus post tracking from app. Made the call the day it was posted to ring them due to the cancellation of PayPal orders.

  • I recieved the invoice Friday morning and earbuds turned up today mine are new blue ones. I also bought a soundlink the 143 one and still waiting on this.

  • Rang up on Friday to get the order re-processed. They took the money immediately but didn't say anything about shipping. Thought they might have shipped today, but just checked MyPost and there's nothing there. Maybe they ran out of black and are sourcing more. Hopefully not too long to wait..

    Make sure you all update the software on your headphones when they arrive. The left ear disconnect issue seems to exist for older firmware. Easiest way to do it is on this website https://btu.bose.com/ , install the software and connect the headphones via USB to your computer and follow the prompts. I have a feeling the reason there are quite a few refurbs is because of that issue and people not bothering to update the firmware but to simply return them.

      Yeah, don't use the app to upgrade. I tried it and it took 30 minutes to get to like 25%.

      used the website and followed the instructions, took like 10-15 minutes to fully upgrade (Don't think Internet speed matters because I have 90+ down/30+ up but if it does god help all those people with slow internet connections)

      • I actually think it has to do with the bluetooth bandwith. File transfers over bluetooth can be painfully slow :P

          Also, returning of refurb. I tried my brand new ones, so Youtube is fully fixed and audio is in sync (This is android btw) but I tried twitch app, it wasn't in sync like 0.5-1 second delay. I used some mobile games, once again 0.5-1 second delay.

          I've heard the left ear disconnecting has been fixed with new firmware upgrades, you are right.

          I think the audio sync issues is what made people return it.

          I also tried it on my windows PC, Youtube had a very slight delay (nothing major), Twitch on browser worked fine. No idea about PC gaming, but I've heard there were issues there as well

          Some advice for people as well: Volume is possibly gonna be very quiet even at high volumes on Youtube app.. easy fix: Go to Bose connect app and you will see a "song not playing" or "song X playing" at the bottom, just go to that and turn it up to full volume.

          If it is still quiet, there is a fix for android as well (hopefully it wont be needed)

          Overall, for the $80 we paid (or free for some people) thats a damn good deal but would I pay $250-300 for these? Nope, if you want wireless device to hear audio.. 100% QC35II or Sony XM3

    Guys, if you got the pair and you're satisfied then remember to thank Bose on their Facebook page and encourage them so they know this was the right move by them (hopefully other companies will take note as well)

      I honestly don't think I should be praising them for this as I was expecting them to do the right thing. I would love to give them positive feedback however, after on hold for nearly 2 hours just to reprocess the order and 3 days passed, no email confirmation, no invoice and no tracking. The amount of time I have spent on the $80 saving, I would simply bought them on Microsoft ebay store $160 brand new couple of days ago. I think I am kind enough not to leave negative message.

        Ok nice, but 90%+ of companies wouldnt do the right thing and just cancel the order. All the major retailers just cancel all price error orders, they don't care. Since when has a company thought about what is the morally right thing to do?

        You're right about customer support, the being put on hold for 2 hours is because there are like 500+ other people in your situation including myself on Bose 300 speaker so thats why you were on hold for so long. Their customer support is pretty subpar, not the worst I've experienced but it isn't great.

        You make it seem like you would have been working extra time and made that $80 if you didn't waste your time on the phone.

        If you're annoyed then just ask for a refund and buy the $160 Bose SoundSport Free. Wait, you're on OzBargain.. you really think I believe you would have rather spent that extra $80? Hell no

        This just sounds entitled.

        Listen, the point of leaving a positive message is that in future they will do the same in case of a price error and MAYBE other companies will see this and realise how much it means to customers.

          This is my time and I think I am kind enough not to left negative. I don't go around and ask people to put negative comment as people value their time differently so I am going to do what I really think is right for me and you can obviously write positive comments for them and you can wish other big companies will care about this and do the same in the future.

          Look at Bunnings, the pricing error for the drone is a $1000 off and Bunnings cancelling the orders and give all of them $250 voucher without anyone asking or demanding because it was clearly a pricing error.

          By the way, are you the PR/Marketing folk for Bose by any chances since you are so keen to ask people to give Bose good review?

            @JCRALLYART: No, I'm in the "I like massive discounts" department.

            You're right, Bunnings is still easily #1 but thats such an isolated and rare case definitely not the norm at all.

            However, Bose is definitely not the worst we have seen from a company.

            Usually, the response is just "lol screw you guys, we aint giving an item for that price". The ones that are worse will issue the message like 2 days after the price error, but refunds wont come until 2-3 weeks afterwards.

            Maybe it is because I've been dealing with NBN and my ISP for a good 2-3 years now and I've spent probably a total of 10-20+ hours on the phone that this wasn't a horrible experience for me.

    2 X headphones arrived today, but I have no charge on my card either. This rollercoaster went from Pretty good, to shit to amazing.

        • They have a refurbished sticker on the bottom, but if it didn't have the sticker, there would be no way of telling. Arrived at like 9 am also.

    Received my set of black refurbished earphones today! Enjoying them as we speak. My card hasn’t been charged either.

  • I called today at 10:20am and waited for 40 minutes.

    Was advised my original order was cancelled (possibly due to being a PayPal transaction), and they had to reorder via a bank or card method.

    The lady (call centre in Philippines) stated it would be the black and refurbished product, I'm pretty sure she was just reading the original order record though.

    Apparently will take 3-5 days to ship out.

    I will update you all if I receive a new or refurbished one.

  • Wait time on the phone was only 5 minutes today for those that couldn't be arsed waiting the last couple of days.

    • Both times I’ve called today, I was on hold for 10 minutes before giving up. That was early this morning around 8:15 and around 12:00pm.

  • Just came off the phone, around 1:30pm Perth time took 25 mins in total (20 mins hold & 5 mins sorting it). Super easy, 3-5 days dispatch. Appreciate all the comments and OG posts, best community out there.

  • Rang bose on Monday. The waiting time was around 40 mins. The customer care knew exactly what to do and charged me for 2 x earphones.
    Have not recieved the invoice or any other update from Bose yet but recieved a notification from Australia Post today saying that the order has been shipped.
    I understand people are complaining that the situation could have been better handled and I agree with them to some extent but I have nothing to complain.

  • Feedback on my refurb units after using for almost 2 days:
    1. Updated firmware using method mentioned in comment above
    2. Left earpiece occasionally dropping off. Happened 3 times today
    3. Battery life not that great. Charged 100% last night. Used intermittently since this morning. Now battery 0%.

    • I bet you'd be pissed had you paid $300 for them!

      My QCY's drop out a bit…but they only cost me $25. The battery lasts a fair while though. I was hoping these Bose buds would offer something somewhat…more? …better? We'll see.

    After initially having my refurb order cancelled and getting told via online chat I'd only receive a 15% discount I rang Bose. Ended up receiving a brand new pair for 79.95
    yesterday I woke up to the pleasant surprise of a startrack email advising me another Bose package was on the way, they'd sent out my original refurb pair.

    Delivered Monday (refurb)
    No tracking or email notifications
    Original preauth disappeared.. no further charge

    I got mine today "factory renewed" (refurbished black). I initially paid via CC on the 5th of December through shopback and got 2% credit. That transaction has long disappeared from my transaction. I have not seen any new transaction which effectively makes this free. I will definitely post good feedback on FB and withdraw my DFT case. Thank you OP and the OzBargain fam. You have truly made my Xmas

  • Essentially those who originally ordered via CC got it for free (pre authorisation vanished) and those who paid via PayPal had to provide CC details for payment which were processed

  • I would give it another week after they were sent before feeling sure that you have not been charged. Despite seeing some info about authorisation holds lasting 10 days on credit cards, I seem to remember that they were released automatically earlier than that. It may simply be that the original funds hold has lapsed, but the actual charge to your card has not shown up yet.

    Will see…I have no charge to my credit card yet, but I do have a pending payment (funds hold), a result of calling them on Friday to get things fixed (I had originally paid with PayPal). For some reason recently, I have noticed that CC payments in general seem to be taking a little longer than usual to come through.

  • Very suspicious.. a few days after giving my debit card details over the phone my card has had multiple unknown transactions and now been blocked by my bank. Not saying that is necessarily how it happened but very very suspicious, I really don't like giving these details over the phone.

    Noticed I got dispatch notification early today in the morning from Bose.

    Must of stuffed up my order and sent another pair out :)

  • Mine just turned up. And geeze.. not too sure about their factory refurb process, found a few small hairs in the charging case and little bit of dust. You don't get a nice box either, just generic white cardboard. They arrive with a flat battery also.

        Ya flat battery but plastic cover on the charger box, nothing to complain !! Charged in 15’ the left ear work during the call

  • I called Bose last Wednesday and provided my CC details to reprocess the order (originally via Paypal but the transaction suddenly vanished). Today, I found $79.95 authorisation just disappeared from my CC again. I haven't received the earphones yet but the tracking shows they are on the way. Very interested to see what will happen.

    • Reading this I just checked, and having called and re-ordered on Friday, charge also seems to have disappeared as of today too! And tracking shows they are arriving tomorrow…

  • Bose has now sent my headphones, but card it still showing just a pre-auth. Money has not been taken yet.

    Called again today - someone answered within 3mins !
    There is no note/record of me calling them on Friday (1hr 30mins)

    Provided them again with my CC details, I can see the transaction. hopefully will get the product in next few days.

    Just checking, if these headphones are android and apple specific? Mine box mentions suitable for apple, but I assume its common for all devices.

    • Fine for all. They have AAC, which is nice for those of us in the Apple camp. No aptX though.

    She gave me reference number but I haven't received a confirmation email or any tracking updates yet. Haven't received credit card charge either.

  • I called Bose on Friday about lunchtime, after witing an hour and 30 min, paid through the credit card and received it today.
    I was advised that they don't charge credit card until the order is delivered. However, my preauthorisation charge has disappeared.

    • I called and paid last Wednesday…nothing. I have rung twice since and they haven't done anything- we will escalate and get back to you in 24-48 hrs. I said that's pretty poor, isn't it meant to be overnight delivery, but I'm getting two day support? Also they don't ring or email.

    Guy called me instead to reprocess the order.
    Was very easy and provided me new ref number.
    He said more stocks are coming this week and it will be sent as soon as its available

  • Well looks like Star Track have lost my order. They pulled up at my home, and I saw him looking in his van for about five minutes, then he said 'I come back deliver later'. Now three days later, no more scans and no more 'come back deliver later'.

      They came to deliver mine but I was at work. They left a note, I went to Toowong Business Hub, they said we don't have it. The next day, app said it's on board for delivery. Never arrived. Day 3, I went to Business Hub at 9 in the morning, success.

          • @whynotfun: I can confirm that mine has no such sticker, either the front of the back. The case was wrapped in plastic. Had the standard white bose box. ALl the cables were still tied up and looked neat. Guess I got a new one then!

    • Thanks, I'll give that a go. Paid Wednesday last week and three calls since and they can't tell me why it hasn't been shipped. It's been escalated I've been told and I spoke to a manager to tell him to call the logistics team and he said he had no phone or email to them…they just submit tickets. I asked to speak to someone higher or in Australia and they couldn't provide anything but a number which went to a fax. Rock show.

    Just got off the phone for the 4th time. So from estimated delivery that was supposed to be last week, it became this past monday, to today, and now it's supposed to arrive monday. I take back what I said in thanking them. There is nothing to thank them for. I've wasted so much fvcking time trying to get my order.
