  • Allowed me to click and collect. Nsw

    • Thanks! Updated post.

  • Good price, got mine for $268 or something a little while ago.

  • I think $247.20 is the lowest ever so far. Got myself a Chalk one, thanks!

So tempting. The question is, will it be cheaper in the Boxing Day sales?

    • +1

this price is still too high for me..

I think Google's pricing strategy is to focus discounts on the cheaper devices or do 2 for one deals. For example the Home Mini is always on sale but the Google Home and the Home Max not so much.

Google's strategy is to get into your house and you into their ecosystem so whether you buy a cheap device or an expensive device matters less to them. I.e. There's less incentive for them to discount the higher end models as ppl who buy these models tend to be already on board.

That said I'm convinced they're selling these devices at below cost (after, design and marketing costs) just to get you into their ecosystem. The 2 for one deals are so you bring a friend or family member into the ecosystem.

So, will it ? or not ?

I'm tempted too but I think I'llwait a bit longer for the cheapest deal.
The Nest Hub Max seems ideal for the kitchen where you can use it for cooking recipe's etc.

i use it for youtube, music, photo… and my 3 years old son can now say "ok google, play PJ Masks" to listen to PJ Masks!

I do hope that they become less in the New Year, might be able to sneak one into the house for a Sub $200 price..
I would also like to see Bunnings stock them - voucher from the Drone mess waiting to be spent…
ps ive been looking at modem/routers (NBN to the node) and you can special order D-Link from Bunnings,
so, come on Bunnings make the Nest Hub Max an in store item..

  • Thanks, wanted to add a hub max to my setup.

Wow, lowest price so far I think.

I'd rather using my tablet + bluetooth speakers.

    • +1

How much did it cost you to buy the tablet and BT speaker?

      • -1

Mine is an old HP Pro Slate 8. Maybe $100 these days. I believe most people have some spare bluetooth speakers like me. Normally I cast music to my TV with chromecast pluged in.

If you need the new tablet, you could get this one:

Have you set up Google Assistant on your tablet?

      • Yes. Just like the one running on the phone.

Cheapest so far, bought it last sale. Happy with the unit. its BT speaker, side screen, NEST camera, google assistant etc…

Good price considering a good BT speaker is $200

    I must resist….

Was always on the fence with this but I didn't realise it had the nest camera inbuilt. Perfect for when I leave the dogs inside, can see what they get up to haha.

    • you would have to stack the rear to tilt it forward , else it's pointing towards ceiling

      • +1

It still gets the floor though with its wide angled camera.

      • Just checked a pic in a review, it's not ideal but it's not terrible. No IR so needs light obviously.

  • did you block the camera with tape?

    • What are you doing in your house?! LOL. If you arent doing anything illegal, who cares.

      • +1

I walk around at home in my old saggy undies

        • +1

Awesome! Good luck to the person who breaks into your network to see that then. LOL

          • @mossy1: That's their punishment

        • no undies?

    • That’s the plan

  • does this device still not show a full month calendar view? I'm hoping for a device which will display my a monthly calendar view!

  • bought 2 and going to return the one I purchased a week ago in TGG (still not picked up) for $284
perfect to do video call with parents at home

  • Do you think we can get good guys store to price match this?

  • Is it possible to get a price beat from Officeworks?

  • Bought one, thanks OP

  • I've got a Nest Mini in the living room at the moment. I'm thinking to move it to the bed room and buying a Nest Hub Max. What do people think?

    • Adding the visual feedback makes the experience twice as good. For example when asking the weather it pops a page up in an instant or you can just listen like always. It's also nice to have my photos off my phone looping for everyone to see. I wish I got a hub sooner.
